  2. 👁‍🗨 A somewhat long but hard hitting article on:The Unraveling of America In a dark season of pestilence, COVID has reduced to tatters the illusion of American exceptionalism. At the height of the crisis, with more than 2,000 dying each day, Americans found themselves members of a failed state, ruled by a dysfunctional and incompetent government largely responsible for death rates that added a tragic coda to America’s claim to supremacy in the world....Today, the base pay of those at the top is commonly 400 times that of their salaried staff, with many earning orders of magnitude more in stock options and perks. The elite one percent of Americans control $30 trillion of assets, while the bottom half have more debt than assets. The three richest Americans have more money than the poorest 160 million of their countrymen....The nation that defeated smallpox and polio, and led the world for generations in medical innovation and discovery, was reduced to a laughing stock as a buffoon of a president advocated the use of household disinfectants as a treatment for a disease that intellectually he could not begin to understand....The republic that defined the free flow of information as the life blood of democracy, today ranks 45th among nations when it comes to press freedom.... The American president lives to cultivate resentments, demonize his opponents, validate hatred. His main tool of governance is the lie; as of July 9th, 2020, the documented tally of his distortions and false statements numbered 20,055... For the moment, we have only the kleptocracy of Donald Trump. Between praising the Chinese for their treatment of the Uighurs, describing their internment and torture as “exactly the right thing to do,” and his dispensing of medical advice concerning the therapeutic use of chemical disinfectants, Trump blithely remarked, “One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.” He had in mind, of course, the coronavirus, but, as others have said, he might just as well have been referring to the American dream...https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/political-commentary/covid-19-end-of-american-era-wade-davis-1038206/
  3. Man, that’s some scary, underhanded siht going down.
  4. You’d probably think there was going to be a lot of yelling, a lot of shouting, a lot of oohs and aahs,” said Bombers slotback Nik Demski. “But, honestly, everybody was just silent because your breath is really taken away by this.“It’s amazing. It’s unbelievable. It’s definitely a memory that’s going to last a lifetime.”
  5. Good news emerged Friday in the quest for government funding for a CFL season, as the federal government’s Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Howard Njoo told Dan Ralph of the Canadian Press that Health Canada was reviewing the hub city protocols proposed by the CFL and had a positive outlook. Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Howard Njoo calls CFL hub city plan ‘encouraging’ After coming to no decision on a season after meeting on Thursday, Ralph reports that the CFL board of governors will hold a rare videoconference on back-to-back days on Friday. The clock is ticking on the possibility of a CFL season, but it also appears the action is heating up. https://3downnation.com/2020/08/07/deputy-chief-public-health-officer-dr-howard-njoo-calls-cfl-hub-city-plan-encouraging/

  7. Whoever reads it will be convinced.
  8. Aug 6 just after the Administration says deaths are going down. I know what else is going down..
  9. I haven’t been witness to something like this before and truthfully, I never thought about Bob Irving getting a ring. But when you think about it, it truly fits in with the culture and atmosphere the Bombers are promoting with this team. This is no mere gesture by the Bombers. It is heartfelt and rewarding. And, deserving. Growing up and listening to Irving over the last 29 years,I realize how lucky we were to have someone so balanced in his broadcasting. And knowledgable. A Grey Cup Ring? Bravo Bob! And bravo to Wade Miller for bringing it all together with Kyle Walters and Mike O’Shea.
  10. Is it even possible to sculpt an ass in stone?
  11. Gotta get that relief bill done eh Donnie...
  12. More details on the details on this ‘plain’ ring. Fabulous. Golden Boy, IGF field, player’s names. Really nice.
  13. Keep those ads coming..
  14. Obviously Trump supporters...
  15. No team can lose the likes of Trouba, Myers, and Chiarot at the same time and with the uncertainty and loss of Byfuglien, then carry on the season with not-quite-ready-for-prime-time players. Wasn’t going to happen this year.
  16. I like the simple elegance of this ring..not overdone.
  17. I still can’t get used to Elliott Friedman’s beard...
  18. Corruption here? No, it cannot be.
  19. Trump has spent the past several months attacking states that try to make it easier to vote by mail — though he recently claimed that mail-in ballots in Florida are fine because “Florida’s got a great Republican governor.” 👁‍🗨 (hypocrisy, Trump is thy name)In any event, Trump’s lawsuit suffers from several fundamental flaws. Some of its arguments rely on federal statutes that most likely cannot be enforced through a lawsuit brought by a private party. Others rest on speculation about how certain provisions of AB4 will be implemented. Important prongs of Trump’s legal arguments rest on the Supreme Court’s decision in Bush v. Gore (2000), an opinion that explicitly states its decision is “limited to the present circumstances” and therefore should not be relied on by future courts.https://www.vox.com/2020/8/6/21355564/trump-nevada-vote-by-mail-ab4-cegavske-sisolak-supreme-court
  20. I guess you miss the point.
  21. Great line anyways..Speaker Pelosi on why she thinks Republicans won't provide more money to those struggling right now: "Perhaps you mistook them for somebody who gives a damn."
