A US National Guard major is disputing the official accounts of the clearing of a 1 June protest near the White House.👁‍🗨 We saw what the Major saw.In his statement to Congress, Mr DeMarco will tell lawmakers that, as he stood behind the US Park Police, he observed that "demonstrators were behaving peacefully" and that tear gas was deployed by law enforcement in an "excessive use of force"."It was my observation that the use of force against demonstrators in the clearing operation was an unnecessary escalation of the use of force," he will tell the committee.https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53559501?xtor=AL-72-[partner]-[bbc.news.twitter]-[headline]-[news]-[bizdev]-[isapi]&at_campaign=64&at_custom1=[post+type]&at_medium=custom7&at_custom3=%40BBCWorld&at_custom2=twitter&at_custom4=D89C4810-D039-11EA-B085-70FD4744363C

  6. Eight more players and two coaches with the Miami Marlins have tested positive for COVID-19, as an outbreak has spread throughout their clubhouse and brought the total of cases in recent days to at least 14, sources familiar with the situation tell me and @JesseRogersESPN.- Under agreement MLB Comissioner Manfred has power to suspend/cancel season if a team or teams suffer an outbreak and competitive integrity is compromised. The beginning of the end for baseball’s season? And other sports?
  7. Anti-masking groups draw from anti-vaccination playbook to spread misinformationDownplaying dangers of COVID-19, taking research out of context are common strategies, experts say“It disturbs me when I see people acting on information that I'm quite sure is not only incorrect, but potentially misleading and potentially leading to harmful outcomes," said Dr. Matthew Oughton, an infectious disease specialist at McGill University. Although scientists are continuing to learn about the novel coronavirus, it appears that people with COVID-19 can be most infectious before they show any symptoms, Oughton said. That's different from many other viruses — including the first version of SARS. It's a key reason why it's important for people to wear masks — even if they feel perfectly healthy — when physical distancing isn't possible to prevent transmission, medical experts say. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/anti-masking-group-tied-to-anti-vaccination-covid-19-1.5661790 👁‍🗨 A well written article by Nicole Ireland.

  10. It blew hard on the blowhard’s beautiful wall? Not surprising. And I just watched a video, after Trump said 20 world class mountain climbers couldn’t scale the wall, of climbers, who accepted that challenge and easily climbed a Trump wall replication, in under 20 seconds. 20 seconds. Then I watched an 8 year old girl do it. Oh wall, what’s a few billion dollars spent on this massive failure..
