Just heard Florey on 1290, my blunt assessment, Flory is an uneducated idiot. So in the CFLPA's proposal according to him, the floor is 4.8 million, the top amount is 5.8, so they're only asking teams to spend 4.8 million plus the bonuses. Yeah, cause all teams will do that. Plus if they do, you won't cry collusion. The bonus is for all their hard work etc. We deserve more yada, yada, yada. If you think about it, even if you go from 4.4 million to 4.8 million plus the vet bonus that's 1 million more. But more likely 4.4-5.8 million is 1.4 +.6 so spend 2 million more this year or most of your new tv $. Sure Ottawa is new and has folded twice. Montreal, Toronto, Hamilton all lose $ and BC is year to year. Guy couldn't run a lemonaide stand.

Exactly how high are the ticket prices in Ottawa and Hamilton going to be. THE CFLPA seems to think that their new barns means they will earn revenues similar to Winnipeg but ours holds 33500 and theirs are around 24000 I believe. That means ours holds 40% more fans, so are they going to have ticket prices 40% higher?

Actually the biggest thing I agree with is increasing the salary for the grunts. I think $50,000 going to $55,000 is a good offer. If it went from $45,000-$55,000 to an eventual $60,000 over the life of the deal that would be fine too. In terms of teams making money, Winnipeg did but we have a huge stadium debt, Riders did and they have stadium debt too or will shortly. Toronto never seems to make $. Hamilton usually loses $ and they'll owe $ too with their stadium. Calgary made money but needs a new barn. It's not the 1990s but I'd say we're not out of danger yet.

I thought the CFL's latest proposol was fair, upping the minimum to $50,000, increases to the overall SMS levels. The thing is how many teams make money: Winnipeg, Edmonton, Saskatchewan, BC, Calgary? Toronto and Hamilton don't and pretty sure the Als don't. Players need to make sure they don't kill the golden goose.

Mulumba was getting a lot of playing time due to injuries last year in GB and played fairly well it seems. I think he lasts in GB at least one more year. Getting Bilkukidi in late august/early september may happen.

I think a raise in the SMS of more than 3% and a higher minimum are valid requests. Don't like revenue sharing as it just seems like away for Ontario's teams to take the Western clubs cash. I do think the players have to realize the relatively thin margins most teams operate under.
