  1. Matthews has to catch that. Guy is afraid of contact.
  2. I don’t know if it would work but considering Bighill was at his best at WIL I’m BC and Wilson showed well at MLB while Bighill was out, maybe try swapping them?
  3. I’ll beat the dead horse and say Bighill looks bad again.
  4. I don’t care anymore if it’s Lapo or Nichols to blame for this but this is disgusting. It’s either checkdown Harris to the right or checkdown to Harris to the left. Stamps don’t even need to bother covering downfield.
  5. King of the checkdowns!
  6. I wish Lapo would call a normal play for Streveler in the rare scenario he gets to play. Rather than play Harris at QB and Streveler running the jet lol
  7. Hecht’s worst game as a Bomber by far.
  8. Sayles is legitimately great. One of the best DBs in the league and no one talks about him.
  9. Nichols owes Grant his gamecheque.
  10. The Bombers have to be the worst team in history at 2nd and 2.
  11. Nice response by the O.
  12. You win!
  13. Over/under 1.5 first downs here?
  14. It’s a sincere pleasure watching great QB play out of a young player. I just wish he were on the Bombers.
  15. He’s by far our best DB. Not much you can do in that situation.
  16. Arbuckle is a player. I wish Nichols had half his ability and drive.
  17. Lol Hecht.
  18. This guy is good.
  19. That’s true but from 2015-2019 that makes two seasons where they didn’t have an undisputed top-tier QB. Pretty easy to stay competitive in that scenario.
  20. But it’s also worth noting that they’ve basically gone from Burris to Mitchell (plus one year of Kevin Glenn) for the entirety of their stretch of being perennial contenders. Before Burris they had some lean years. Having high-end QB play makes a massive difference.
  21. That’s basically the definition of it being mental lol
  22. Could we run him out of town on a rail? I’ve always wanted to run someone out of town on a rail.
  23. I mean, you’re not wrong. But a start would be more than three consecutive games of good play. Are any of us wrong to see what Nichols is and has been for the majority of his career outside of one season and figure that at age 31, the best isn’t yet to come?
  24. Right, and my concern would be that by then it will likely be too late to do anything about it.
  25. Matthews deserves criticism as well, but it was a questionable move from the start to bring in a big money receiver who can’t play inside when we have one of the better guys at that position already with Adams. I like Matthews fine but he hardly has a massive history of great success as a bonafide number one. His best CFL season was eight years ago. But even if Matthews sucks all year, this team can still succeed. If Nichols plays like this in the playoffs, the team is completely screwed. I’m not even saying there’s a surefire better option, but would we not feel infinitely better about things had we seen Streveler worked into more sets either when Nichols was struggling or in blowouts? Or maybe had Streveler played more last season when Nichols was very clearly rushed back from injury? It’s a QB management failure on multiple levels but it all comes down to the same ultimate conclusion: Nichols will have a number of good games and some great games every season, but overall he’s not going to get any better than he is now. I don’t expect it to happen because of how risk averse O’Shea seems to be but the glimmer of hope that I have is that he realizes fairly early in Willy’s final season that he wasn’t good enough so a move was made to replace him. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a respectable attempt.
