I don’t necessarily blame O’Day. Name recognition is a huge part of player evaluation in the CFL. Walters has been guilty of it himself with guys like Romby Bryant. The Elimimian signing is eerily reminiscent of the Korey Banks signing years ago. Luckily, O’Shea realized he was done after TC and booted the bum.
The status of OCing in the league is almost as bad as the state of QBing. Jackson, McAdoo, Chapdelaine and Khari all have no business being professional OCs. It’s so bad that the Riders are pining for Lapo to be their saviour.
Oh and just as we all suspected, Elimimian is well past the point of being done. He looked ancient out there. Next game, we will see the same out of Arceneaux.
No one with an unbiased view is going to say Fajardo played okay. Even saying he was bad would be generous. The guy is an embarrassment. He’s been in the league four years so the rookie excuse doesn’t hold water.
I think we all can see the difference between a vet struggling to throw for 300 yards in a close game and a guy in his first career start throwing for 262 in a game that was never in any doubt.
Fajardo is a proven failure. Franklin has had over a year to show he’s garbage. Arbuckle may ultimately never end up being anything but there’s good reason to assume he will be great. And with so, so many terrible QBs in the league right now even with the small sample size saying he’s fifth or sixth best is not ridiculous. Can you name six CFL QBs better than him for certain right now?
For whatever reason, probably because TSN loves pumping the Argos, this guy will get the benefit of the doubt from everyone until he’s out of the league.
