Long snapping has largely been terrific.

Receivers have all been awful tonight.

That’s a fair and reasonable point.

My issue is largely with Wyman. Bauming does a fine enough job.

I don’t need my complaints to be agreed with or even acknowledged but it’s perfectly valid to be unsatisfied with the quality of training camp reporting by the Winnipeg media.

More than half of those are “non-stories”.

Forgive me if I’m looking for actual camp news rather than fluff pieces about where these guys went to high school and their favourite pizza topping.

It annoys me so much that this is literally all Wyman is capable of doing. Who cares who is banged up for a day or two in camp? It’s the very definition of non-news that requires no effort on his part to try to make it look like he’s actually doing something.

We can agree to disagree. We can both watch him this season and draw our own conclusions.

It’s a testament to how hard it is to play DB in the league combined with the significant lack of DB talent right now, especially in the east division last season. Look, watch the guy play rather than eyeball his stats. He can’t get separation anymore. He can still catch the ball and if you leave him open or let him get body position on you, he’s going to make a play but he’s less mobile than end stage obese Nik Lewis at this point and it’s only going to get worse for him.

If you stay healthy and get a million targets, it’s not that difficult.

That’s the one. The guy can’t move. Any half decent DB can shut him down easily.

Green is so far beyond done he can’t even remember what it was like to be good.

Cousin Zach is snapping up a storm.

Say what you want about Cousin Zach, he generates some serious buzz.

Obviously. I am showing support for my cousin, whom while I know is a very good long snapper, is not going to replace the incumbent, who is the best in the league without some sort of injury. Just having a little fun and if he does end up as this team’s long snapper after Rempel retires down the line, all the better.

I’m not just saying this because he’s my first cousin, he’s the best long snapper in the entire world. Perhaps the universe, I can’t speak for other planets.

I hate how Ted Wyman's Bomber column is called Bombshells. I always assume he's about to drop some sort of incredible breaking news.

This D has far too much talent to fail and Hall had a good enough season to deserve some benefit of the doubt for now.

The QB of this iteration of the Blue Bombers doesn’t need to carry anyone to the playoffs. That’s entirely the point. Basically, all he would need to do is not blow games. Even with a few games blown by the QB last season, the team still made the playoffs easily. There’s absolutely no way that one could make a reasonable argument that Streveler would have played worse than Nichols in either the Rider or the Stamp games in the playoffs last season. I recognize that Nichols was certainly playing hurt last season and there’s a reasonable reason to expect a better performance out of him this season but it’s far from a certainty. I make no apologies for not being a fan of the guy. It terrifies me that if this strong core of the Bombers fails to win a cup, I’m certain that it will be he and Lapo who are ultimately to blame the most.
