  1. And since I guess it has to be said again, the general state of QBing in the CFL is terrible so while I would disagree that Nichols is the third best QB in the league, it’s not like his competition is fierce.
  2. So in other words, when everything else on the team is going well and Nichols doesn’t overtly screw everything up, he’s fine. Pardon me while I celebrate.
  3. Very few deep threats are forced to make contested catches consistently. They are fast guys who strive at getting past coverage so the catches don’t need to be contested. Adams isn’t a burner but he’s very good at getting open deep.
  4. Head definitely a deep threat. He’s flawed but to say he’s not a deep threat is a bit crazy.
  5. Bottom line is, you have to think that Streveler wins that game too. O’Shea puts Nichols in that spot, he wins and now I don’t see a situation where he loses his job the rest of the year.
  6. The season is saved and Nichols lives to see another day. For better or for worse.
  7. Just because one player is bad, doesn’t make another one great. There are hundreds of import linebackers out there. Cheap ones too.
  8. As good as he is, this is easily his worst year as a pro and at age 30, you have to wonder how many years he does have left.
  9. He’s been good enough but on a one year deal and not getting younger.
  10. There are about five guys on this team worth building around, Oline excluded.
  11. How much time does Nichols need exactly before he can throw the ball?
  12. Wolitarsky is worth the price of admission. If only he got more than two balls a game.
  13. LaPo very obviously doesn’t trust Nichols. How is O’Shea the only guy on earth that doesn’t see that he’s done.
  14. Nichols getting outdueled by Johnny ******* Manziel. You can’t make this stuff up.
  15. The Eskimoes and other good teams get more creative as the game goes on. LaPo gets less.
  16. I’ll give Manziel credit that he can get out of the pocket and give his receivers time to get open. Nichols does not have that skill.
  17. Lafrance is extremely lucky he had that one good game that gave him a career.
  18. I’m not educated on what happened in the 60s and 70s so I can’t speak to that but few elite backs can handle a full load at this point in their career.
