I don't want to see him get hurt. I'm just pointing out that it's a double standard.
-
That was a dirty hit but many worse hits have been not called disqualification. Literally the only reason that's a DQ is because it was Cornish.
-
According to the rules it was the proper call. It's a crappy penalty and the NFL does it right. The wording of the NFL rule is pretty much the same as the CFL rule except it's more long winded. That may be true, but the way it is enforced is quite different just based on observations. Probably due to inferior officiating.

"It's all about the spot" -Rod Black, idiot.
-
I want to see Troy Smith finish this game with less than 100 yards passing.
-
Because he was atrociously overpaid and also terrible.

I wouldn't even call that a horsecollar tackle. The things the refs consider horsecollar in this league are pretty questionable.
-
Not really - I called it a loooong time ago, I also said he'll be unemployed by Labour Day and Drew Tate will most likely be in Montreal That's great that you prognosticated this but that doesn't make it any less amusing.
-
How are people not enjoying this game? Watching Troy Smith bumble his way around a football field is pure comedy.
-
Rod also doesn't know the difference between throwing the ball away and an incomplete pass.
-
Maybe it's me being picky but Rod constantly referring to things in this game being the "first of 2014" is unbearably annoying.
-
His analysis of Jeff Fuller was good. Played 3 games in 2013, only 15 catches. Yes, only. 5 catches a game= 90 a season. Only 90. That made me laugh too. Back in his day, Rod caught 10 passes a game. I'm also glad he didn't get any better at determining how far away from the first down marker a ball carrier was tackled.
-
I wonder how many times Rod Black will remind us that Jon Cornish is last year's MOP. Or that Troy Smith won the Heisman. If there is someone on earth who is worse at their job, I haven't found them yet. TSN could put my mailman on PBP and he'd do a better job.

To play a bit of Devil's Advocate here, the sample size for Banks as a Bomber is extremely tiny. Yes, he definitely dropped off in BC last year, but when comparing him to guys like Dunn and Sears (who has been injured frequently), I'm not sure I agree with the thinking that our current players are so far and away better than Banks that he's expendable. That's usually a fair argument, but having a down year at 33 years old is a little different than having one at 25 or 26. Football players have an expiry, especially ones that rely on speed and physicality like Banks does. I was fine with the move to acquire him because we really didn't know what we had. I'm not saying one week determines what we have either but Sears when healthy has been an excellent player in this league and Dunn brings more tools to the table right now.
-
I love this move. Leadership is literally the only thing that Banks gives us at this point. I don't want Sears off the field and frankly, Dunn is better than him at this point. I suppose injury "depth" is nice to have but would he want to be in that role? Doubtful.

As good as Grigsby's line was tonight, I still wasn't too impressed with many of his runs. Especially in the first half where he was buoyed by two big runs. Still, I am impressed with the way he finished off the night and that's what matters most.

Mike's probably right about Willy, they usually like to put all starting QBs in the top 50. Even Bork Pierce made it one year.
-
You are just okay with this signing but Romby Bryant come on down? Bryant has accomplished far more in his CFL career than Hinse likely ever will So has Jackie Parker but he's dead.
-
The TSN Preview show is always a complete joke and Toronto slurpfest. I also feel like the Bombers having perhaps two of the top 50 players is going to incite an aneurysm in me.

Toronto can find a Darvin Adams, Sinkfield, Chiles, Inman so they can cast off Romby Bryant and we have to lap up one of the worst receivers in the league from the last few years. Another good thing about Joe Mack is we would never stoop to pick up a guy like Bryant. We wouldn't pick up people better than him as well, but we definitely wouldn't be having this conversation.
-
He's also a complete bum who's original asset was speed and that's almost completely gone now. Not to mention significant injury history and the fact that he's a colossal ******.
-
For the love of all that is holy please no.
