  1. He was subpar today and in a few other starts. He was good in a couple as well. Not saying Fajardo is good but he looked indisputably terrible every time he got a chance in his first two seasons and now bare minimum he moves the ball and gives his team a chance to win most nights. We can’t forget that Streveler is 24 and only started two seasons in college. He’s extremely raw. Once again, he very easily could end up being terrible but even if he is, we didn’t know that at the time. Nichols had an extremely large sample size of mediocre at best play. Not that you can’t win with him, but I don’t love relying on luck and DST scores to win games.
  2. I hope this provides you with immense joy and satisfaction.
  3. Replacing a known commodity who is subpar (Nichols) with an unknown commodity who may or may not be subpar (Streveler at the time) is something I will always unapologetically advocate for.
  4. Look, I recognize you’re not the type of person who can engage in a nice friendly debate but how many of Nichols’ wins were against the three worst teams in the league? And how many touchdowns did the defence or special teams score in those wins? That’s a good place to start.
  5. My response is that’s an extremely simplistic narrative when there are countless other factors at play. If you can’t see it, there’s really no chance of having a measured conversation.
  6. What a narrative! We’re all wiser from listening to you pontificate about the intricacies of this great sport.
  7. That’s all fair.
  8. Both QBs get a ton of hate, some deserved and some not. It just seems to me that Streveler struggling has made people revert to the idea that Nichols will bring this team success rather than the more likely scenario that this team has no good QBs on the current roster. 7-2 under Nichols was very clearly a mirage based on an easy strength of schedule and timely scores on D and special teams. In Streveler starts, the Bombers have one defensive and one special teams touchdown. That plays a massive role. And again, not excusing the play of Streveler at all.
  9. I mean, that doesn’t surprise me in the least but it doesn’t really mean anything in the grand scheme of things.
  10. Easy for you to say when he hasn’t played a single game against B.C., Ottawa or Toronto. And an odd thing to say considering he’s beaten Edmonton and Saskatchewan as well. Streveler was bad today. Terrible. Full stop. But Streveler struggling does not make Nichols a good QB.
  11. Nichols is just as Teflon to some as Streveler is to others. The downhill slide very coincidentally started when the Bombers stopped playing the three worst teams in the league.
  12. That’s true.
  13. On 2019-07-07 at 12:07 PM, AKAChip said: I have concerns with Streveler as well, don’t get me wrong but reading a defence is hardly Nichols strength either. If it were up to me, we’d go hard after Arbuckle in the off-season if Streveler looks mediocre in reasonable reps this season. Our record should be good enough that we can afford to give him a few starts. Again, really no downside to giving Nichols the Toronto game off. Ahem.
  14. You, my good man are full of ****.
  15. I literally always said that my stance on wanting to see Streveler was more an anti-Nichols stance than a pro-Streveler one. And for a number of his starts this season, Streveler gave this offence a spark they hadn’t seen in a long time. Obviously, things have gone off the rails lately and he was terrible tonight but even early in the season I repeatedly stated my desire to bring Arbuckle in next season.
  16. Streveler has been bad but the Bombers have the worst group of receivers in the league bar none.
  17. I’d like to see Lapo on the next plane to Siberia.
  18. I’d still really like to see Arbuckle in blue and gold.
  19. Defence was pretty damn great lol
  20. I mean that’s a different definition of tear down than I figured you meant. I’d ditch the coordinators first but O’Shea does have some infuriating qualities.
  21. You really can’t do that in the CFL. Even still, all you need is a great QB and a line that can protect him and your team will succeed.
  22. Then I guess we have no QBs then. Not a great situation.
  23. I mean, there really is no excuse for that.
  24. Nothing gets Rod more pumped up than 34-yard field goals.
  25. Fair enough. The pick was real bad but he had absolutely no shot on the fumble.
