Agreed, I don't see many huge changes until the end of the year - if only because of how much other teams (Edm, Mtrl, Ham) are struggling that (amazingly) we are not completely out of it. If we lose most of the games between Ham/Edm coming up, definitely see a player purge happening as well...

Hey, I'm just trying to discuss why you would even consider firing someone in the middle. I am not in favour of firing Mack, Burke, or Crowton right away.
-
Problem is if we don't fire someone soon (around the bye), we kind of lose our chance to hire someone new and try and salvage the season that way.
-
Suuuuuure he was . Just like the day before they announced Goltz was the starter he was still "... injured"..
-
... Both of those would start if they WERE in fact healthy. My point is that Pierce was healthy and they were using an "injury" as an excuse. Completely different situations. Not sure how else to explain it. ETA I think Mitchell may now back up Tate in more than just short yardage now.
-
Just last week: Reporter: Does Goltz have the opportunity to become the starter? Burke: Maybe. Yeah I'm sure he had no inkling.
-
Really, you name one quarter he played great in.....
-
Yeah, it's not like Buck Pierce is going to come back and haunt us in the near future. It's a **** move to do this and not tell him. But it had to be done and unless he's dumb as a post he had to have an inkling about this. Count me in the group that doesn't want to see him pouting on the sidelines all season. He's been adamant he wants to play and NOT coach though.
-
Well they didn't for one game at least
-
Knew it, the "injury" was just a precursor to this. It makes my drunk ramblings of "We'll never have to see pierce play again!!" after Etienne's second TD a lot more reasonable.
-
Glenn never was announced the starter, nor is he the guy that they have stated they'll live and die by. So no... I wouldn't say like that.
-
No but he is kind of a moron who tells media he can't remember the last three minutes of a game.
-
.... my point is that he is not truly injured and they don't have the balls to just say he's being sat down.
-
The new endzones, I think ($24/ticket + $2/tickets ridiculous Ticketmaster fees). I was surprised they were so cheap, which is why I grabbed them when I did even though there was only about a 50% chance we could go. The game isn't even sold out.
-
Yes, should have specified.
-
Ohhhh Buck's mysterious injury. It'll be interesting to see him magically get healthy in the middle of the game if our other QBs go down.
-
Not on a bus, and don't mean to hijack your post, but I have two Labour Day tickets I have to get rid of. Would prefer they go to a Bomber fan. Seat location: section 212, row 30, seats 28-29 Total Charge: CA $52.00 They're print at home tickets, so easy to transfer.
-
Yeah... I forgot how media can be when a team is winning Not to mention their QB is going to be the exact same (holding onto the ball a bit longer than they usually would).
-
Saw this in the Calgary Sun with some quotes from the Lemonator: Other comments include the fact that: - Buck and Goltz are the exact same style of QB so there was no difference in preparing (both athletic) - Goltz should hang onto the ball longer Found the article: http://www.calgarysun.com/2013/07/23/calgary-stampeders-focus-on-getting-to-winnipeg-blue-bombers-qb-justin-goltz

Ah no problem. I just saw that and even I couldn't believe he would say that. TBH, I think calling the team immature was not like calling them a group of children. I've heard coaches say that about young teams - and let's be honest, we're still pretty young - all the time. I don't really have a problem with him saying that. But, I do have a problem listening to him on H&L going on an on about how great Calgary is. Then to say they don't do know to win? And I still think they were trying noticeably more than Hamilton, for example.

See the correction....

Problem is there's no way in heck I want them to fire him and go with another guy so we have yet another coach to pay for 2 years (I think? Not sure the exact length of term) - add Mack to that if he gets fired. -

Possibly the only home game I'll get to see this year, looking forward to it...
