I am still nervous about our defense giving up 30+ points last game (and two of the drives they were on the field were defensive TD's - awesome, but that meant most of Mtrl's drives were scoring drives - how many I'd have to go deeper). It was very refreshing to see our offense step up and match that. Still picked Winnipeg - I suspect the defense will want a good rebound game (and continue to force turnovers) and hopefully our OL will gel and give Willy the time he needs (and he'll get back to the quick release from the first game). We also have to establish a semblance of a running game - seemed like a noticeable difference in the last game compared to the others (and coincidentally Willy got drilled more.. hmmmmm)

Wait, did someone actually recommend Golden Corral? Went there once on the way to a Vikings game, never ever again...

Lock of the Week Resuts 1+2 Week (Week 3 entries)

Worst part was my "see who is playing BC and then ask my stupid Rider fan boyfriend who to pick" plan failed miserably seeing as he told me the benched RB -
Still hard to believe one of them will be 4-0 after this week. It's not like Montreal's dline is something to scoff at, so although I think the Eskimos defensive line is very good, and our oline will struggle, it will be close. Hopefully if we establish the run (Grigsby only rushed six times according to the stats...? I know he caught a few in the backfield which cuts into actual carries, but still) we can come out on top.

Horror fans should probably check out The Strain, Guillermo del Toro's new work. Just started though, so you'll be waiting each week for it.

Anthony Allen for me... -
I saw the first episode, debating watching the second. Didn't catch my attention that much though. So far Les Revenants is looking far superior. Have I forced True Detective down people's throats yet? Oh, and fml, Under the Dome is back and surprise, still terrible.

The steak bites appetizer is pretty hearty for the price too - almost better than the steak entree we had.

How To Get 24,000 People in & Out Of TD Bank Stadium

Edmonton also has 0 parking iirc. -
So I finished Les Revenants, which was fantastic-ly creepy. Everyone kept recommending Rectify to me... big meh in my opinion (it's on Netflix if anyone feels like taking a gander). While I love the Big Red storyline in OITNB - Piper's storyline was pretty flat imo.

I'll be back in town end of July, any "newish" recommendations?
-
Any update on Watson? Glad Willy's ok, both our backups could never win a game for us after all.

Anderson causes problems everywhere he goes so... not surprising...

Really? What did Brohm do in the pre season to make you think we can? If you want to start an argument, answer the question. Point is you can't tell much from preseason. Period.

For those looking to rewatch week 2 games.

Open the torrent with a client - utorrent for example. Thanks for the link! -
Why, pray tell, do you think they cannot win with Marve or Brohm?

Leos at Als / Tabbies at Eskies / Riders at Argos

So Austin wouldn't pull Collaros last week but pulls Masoli? He looks more composed to me but he is quite... Emotional? Not sure if that's the right word. -

Looks clean to me as well. There's one bad angle but another that clearly shows the shoulder to shoulder contact. not to mention Willis is a lot of things but a head hunter? No... -
I bet you if they miss a birth and something goes tragically wrong, they would never, ever, EVER forgive themselves for the rest of their lives. I hope you never have to experience anything like that. And, for the record, his daughter was born WEDNESDAY and the game is Thursday. Not "if the child is born Tuesday you should play Saturday" - not even relevant here. They're still in the hospital. I hope this is a troll because that's the only way I can make sense of this crap.

I am intrigued as to what teams will give up NAT OL capable of starting before labour day. I was not able to watch the game but 200 yards in the first q and 100 yards in the next 3 suggests adjustments were made. And ANYONE saying missing the birth of a child is ok "as long as they're healthy" - A many number of tragic events can happen during the actual birth. The lack of understanding of that is disgusting. Ask Matt Stajan if he would have been ok with missing the birth of his daughter. And as to whether or not Turner and co are ok now? None of your ******* business. You have a problem with it? Who cares. I'm sure Turner doesn't give a **** about your, Westwood's, or anyone's opinion. As to " they are professional athletes, it's different" - times have changed for workers everywhere. "Benefits" have changed for all workers regarding family time. There's a REASON coaches let these guys go. Nothing is more important than family - nothing.

Ok, so watched the post game and I stand by the fact immediately after the game he didn't sound... that... confident about the injury. O'Shea didn't seem too worried about it either. Willy has always seemed quite subdued so I'm not worried about that *shrug*.

Watch the post season press conference on the Bombers site. Willy was not shook up he said he'll be ready to go for the next game. Thanks, haven't watched it yet, I'll take a gander. People weren't freaking out here so I figured it wouldn't be too bad....

Yeesh =/. I heard that interview with Willy and really didn't sound promising. Really hope nothing is broken... Sounded like "Zac Thompson" (according to Westwood this morning... was sure he meant Jake Thomas but the guy's a nutbar so... thanks for confirming) was not great in relief of January - or is it another sign January is just that good?
