Now that we have the Grey Cup out of the way ...
blitzmore replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm glad you have so much faith in the guys running the team. I think that's great SPuDS, I really do. Props to you for being that way. I think myself & others here just want to see some sign where this team is heading coaching wise next season. My faith will either be strengthened or weakened depending on who does or doesn't come back as coaches next year. What faith? You obviously don't have any because you don't trust them to makes the right moves for the team! -
What is the deal with the Grey Cup ticket pricing
blitzmore replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I usually look at it this way....when I'm on my death bed...I don't think i'll be saying "I sure wish I didn't get those tickets the year the bombers hosted the Grey Cup" -
Possible head coach candidate in BC? Quinn or Kelly? Tasteless!

George Cortez won't be back with Riders in 2015
blitzmore replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The crying and wailing is unbelievable. It isn't a fact yet only rumor. -
Actually, I've seen him be nasty when he needs to be...and the other comments you made to show he's not...weak...very weak!

Why is it the anti-trade people always seem to want to push the idea that its all or none? Someone suggests making A trade to improve the team and people say "you cant trade away all your players" or "you cant trade your way to a contender". Head scratcher. No one is suggesting either. Without going through each of those players, I'd assume they are top trade targets because they are going into UFA status. Those arent guys we should be trading for unless its a salary dump by a team willing to provide other incentive. The Jets are not at the point where they should bring in a player to improve our odds of just missing the playoffs. They should, however, look at what they have, where they're going and who they should have when they get there. And thats why, to me, Buff should be traded this season, the off-season at the latest. You seriously believe that Jets Management are not doing this "They should, however, look at what they have, where they're going and who they should have when they get there" If you believe they're not you seriously have to give your head a good shake. Just because YOU think Buff should be traded which you have said over and over ad nauseum...doesn't mean that hockey minds better than yours agree. When was the last time you made a trade that worked? Show me where I said they arent doing that? And yes, you're right. Im not an NHL GM so my opinion doesnt matter. None of our opinions matter. If you've never played professional hockey at the NHL level, you cant comment on NHL games. *rolls eyes* Seems to me when you say "they should" would indicate that you think they're not! Otherwise you are just stating the obvious. No need for the eye rolling I already did that when you keep saying to trade Buff ad nauseum.

Lawless - Attention O'Shea: Fire Etcheverry
blitzmore replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
If it's O'Shea digging in his heels to keep his old mentor, colour me not too surprised. It would be interesting to know the details because in-fighting between the GM and HC is usually so dysfunctional that it fits perfectly with this team lately. no it doesn't...different people entirely. -
No the trouble is, everyone is just guessing!

2015 season ticket and Grey Cup ticket pricing info
blitzmore replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's far from a penalty. It's an inflated price that anyone would pay, season ticket holder or not. I very much disagree. How can a discount be a penalty?...you either take it or pay the regular price. No different from any other discount...except there is a condition attached. -
ahhh...so it's all about defending the truth as some of you see it. Only one problem...games are won and lost by all sorts of things, and picking out certain plays does not mean the game was won or lost as a result. However our schemes on defence certainly contributed, and if he is back, will again. No way we will ever get to be the #1 defence in the league with Etch as the boss. He has proved that in the past. I will commit myself... I don't want him back, I don't like his schemes, they don't work over the long run. I don't want a defence that is 2nd last in sacks and last in the league defending the run. Some of you can say we wouldn't have won or lost certain games all you want...good your opinion...and true that certain games weren't entirely the fault of the defence, but for me, I don't want to watch his defence next year and has MOS constantly keep saying, we weren't good enough in the gaps, and the preventing the running game doesn't matter all that much.
-
ok...so far we have Mike and 17to85 signed up for wanting Etch back.
-
I think you are guessing!
-
I just hope that all the Etch defenders are happy to live with the defensive schemes we had this year, because by defending the defensive schemes, you might as well say you want him back. If during the 2015 season you are not happy with the defence, providing Etch is still here, you are going to have to bite your tongues, while the rest of us get to complain vehemently. Perhaps all those who want Etch back, should commit themselves now.

That's a cop out answer though. It's not like there are hidden candidates all over the place, there are a limited number of viable options. It's only a cop out answer because you think it is. So you think they should not do their due diligence, and should keep Marcel regardless? Sure lets maintain the status quo. I must have missed the part where this switched from defence to offence. Will scroll up. That's a cop out answer though. It's not like there are hidden candidates all over the place, there are a limited number of viable options. So just because no one immediately comes to your mind, doesn't mean no one is out there. All I said is they should do an exhaustive search, which is only good business. If you are 50 50 good for you, but not for me, I didn't think it was a bad hire initially and was prepared to give him a chance. Now that I've seen how he runs his defence...and unless he is wiling to change...I'm done.
-
Now that's really funny!

Talk to me at the end of the year about Pavs. If he still has the stats he has now...I'll stop blaming him for the bad goals he lets in. You ignore the fact about how the team is playing defence...it's not all about his stats.
-
Look, Pavs had a habit of letting in bad goals last year at absolutely the worst times. Sort of like Kevin Glenn's interceptions. This year he is better than last year as he seems to have made some small changes I'll give him that. But the whole team is playing better defence in front of him, so it's not all on him saving games for the Jets. All I want him to do is play as well as the Goalie at the other end. He didn't because he let in a bad goal. That has an effect on the whole team because the Jets were busting their asses. He doesn't let in a bad goal...who knows what happens? Obviously they didn't score a goal, but what might have been? We'll never know is my point.
-
That's ok...I don't really like someone not admitting that the 2nd goal was a bad one...watch again...him trying to do a slow shuffle across the crease. That goal was a killer despite the fact the Jets were snakebit. Who knows? That goal doesn't go in and maybe they do score. We'll never know. The team didn't score 1 goal tho, yeah it was a bad goal but it doesn't matter because if that goal didn't happen, it would have ended 1 or 2-0 anyway, because they scored an empty netter, when the team in front of you can't score 1 goal, does it really matter if the 2nd goal you give up is a weak one? Why does it matter, Jets can't score. Doen't matter if he gives up a bad goal, every goalie does, 1-0, 2-0,3-0, The one constant is the 0 there for the Jets. Sure it matters...always matters in one way or another when a goalie gives up a bad goal.
-
I would recommend they do an exhaustive search, just like any business who wants to get the best employee! They have plenty of time.
