  1. You simply bit on a TROLL post...that's all.
  2. I don't understand how you can say a receiver gave up on a ball. That would imply that the ball was catchable and the effort wasn't there. I would disagree. Those three long ball throws were ever so close to being game changers, so I don't mind the aggressive play calls. We were playing to win. Coaches get criticized all the time for doing this and not doing that, so I can understand disagreeing with the play calls, but as I said, saying the effort wasn't there, is just wrong. I agree that the receiver didn't give up on the ball...but this is the 2nd time in 2 games where we were 2nd and 3 at important times in the games, and a long pass which does not have a high probability of being completed was called. At this juncture of this game...it should have been all about ball control and first downs and it wasn't!
  3. That's all you can muster up?
  4. I would suggest that with the **** show going on last season that judging a player based on that is not the best course of action. I would suggest you are wrong. Lots of players weren't disinterested and continued to play as well as they could. and by lots of players you mean 1 or 2? Cause I saw a team that at the first sign of adversity would pack it in and just let the other team walk all over them. Then I guess you need new glasses ...

  6. What I remember is how Matthews played very well the first year he was here. Last year I remember he did not play very well prior to going to the NFL and seemed disinterested at times. If we did sign him which Matthews are we going to get? and do you really want to throw a lot of $$ at someone where you are not sure?
  7. Sometimes coaches make mistakes, sometimes they lose sight of the big picture. They won't take a player out because he's not making mistakes when the reality is that they might have a better option despite the other guy not making mistakes. For my money Sears is one of the best defensive player on this team, he just has the bad luck of being hurt a lot, but if he's healthy he can be better than a number of players that they aren't taking off the roster because "they're not playing badly" I like O'Shea overall as a head coach of this team, but he needs to be more proactive making roster changes. ok...you tell him that, because he obviously can't figure it out for himself
  8. Seems to me all these players, positions, substitutions, and watching game film not just once but more than once, and for several games, leads the coaching staff to several conclusions, and schemes for certain opponents. Also seems to me it has been quite successful. To think that it is all based on loyalty is foolish. Many of you are not giving them much credit, and that is a knee jerk reaction to something you only see on the surface.
  9. what the heck are you guys talking about...take a look at Toronto lately and their injuries to top receivers! I guess they weren't supposed to get injured either, to honor their contracts.
  10. No I don't think so, but that doesn't mean that he can't do it if called upon.
  11. Volny is our backup running back, and as long as he doesn't fumble he will be fine if needed.
  12. He really hasn't shown that yet!
  13. Duron Carter, as talented as he is, doesn't have a great team attitude. How do you know he doesn't have a great team attitude? As a college player he was kicked out not one but two programs. for what? not having a great team attitude?

  15. Heck no...SJ is great for the highlight catches, but not so great on many others.
  16. Lawless also said there was no way that he was suiting up for either team come Sunday.
  17. Bell had a pretty modest cap hit, his deal was mostly incentive driven, based on games started at QB. I assume you are being sarcastic here. While there is a salary cap, my guess is that the Bombers have an internal overall budget handed down by the board, and aren't necessarily spending to the new cap this year. So if Wade wants to spend more on the football side, the board could tell him that's fine, but he can't exceed the overall budget. Would just be shuffling money around from the admin budget to the football operations. I'm just speculating, but that's how it would be done in practice. I would definitely agree there's an overall budget internally, but 150k against a salary cap we're well under shouldn't require any restructuring of anything. Just because the cap is $5 million this year doesn't mean the Bombers can/will spend to the cap. Like I said, the BOD likely gives Wade an overall budget and Wade spends however he wants in terms of how much he allocates to football ops and how much he allocates to the administrative side of the organization. With all the firings recently on the admin side, and the increase in coaching staff, I think its clear Wade is shifting financial resources in the overall budget from admin to football ops. Let me pitch it to you this way. Dressler was cut on Monday. Do you really think the decision to remove a position such as vice president from the company structure was a decision they made in less than 24 hours? no it's not worth discussing... I'm sure Wade has been planning it for a while, but the timing of when he pulled the trigger is interesting. Like I say, I fully realize its probably a coincidence, but it is a nice juicy conspiracy theory to discuss
  18. It should stand for Wade...he is the President whether you like it or not! Sure is a lot of conjecture and nothing in the way of facts on these posts. And I'll take the changes that have been made regarding how the stadium is being run and the game activities, and the product on the field, over what it has been in the past!
  19. According to Doug Brown the fundamentals of football dictate that the first guys job is always to wrap up or contain the ball carrier and the second and third tacklers go for the ball.Be that as it may... Is etch a fundamentals guy or a crazy idea guy? Me thinks more so the second option. I'm pretty sure he emphasizes turnover opportunities versus fundamentally sound play... Or assumes the players are fundamentally sound and says "go for it.."You have absolutely no idea if that is true or not! so why say it?Well for one thing, I see the defense going for strips all game long... And for 2 I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in an interview that forcing turnovers is priority #1 and that means more rip n strip n punch then form tackling... Actually....it was said after the bombers poor display of tackling...that when the players watched the film they could see they were trying too hard to strip the ball 1st and tackle properly 2nd. That is why you saw a large improvement in the Montreal Game. You still have no idea what Etch does or does not tell them!

  21. I think I'm OK with that. Maybe Stoudermire can be the emergency RB if ever Grigsby goes down. We already have an emergency running back...Volny
  22. The bombers have hardly had any defensive offsides the whole year. Do you really think that if Hall was here, they would put up with him being offside numerous times? They would fix him or ship him if he kept doing it!
  23. Good gawd...who cares at this point in time! An assortment of all sorts of things can happen, quarterbacks getting hurt, teams adding NFL cuts..coaches getting fired....etc. etc.
  24. I know you're not...but this post is close to the troll variety, seeing that you know how the majority feels, or should, about those ugly clothes they wore.
  25. 1. We have a quarterback who stays cool as a cucumber no matter what. 2. We don't have Crowton 3. We have a rookie national lineman who should only improve with time, training, and reps
