Chances of Bombers signing Sheets?
blitzmore replied to Fatty Liver's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
He won't get anything if no one wants to sign him for that. It's all about supply and demand. -
Kromah likely to make Bomber debut Friday
blitzmore replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
They forgot that in the last game, and while watching the video they could all see that they were trying to strip first tackle 2nd. Now that they have seen themselves do that, we should expect an improvement. -
How good is our offensive play calling?
blitzmore replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Problem with that strategy is it's not always sustainable as defenses can tailor their coverage based on the offensive personnel. I fully realize that...I didn't say we had to do it every running play, just much more than we do now. -
How good is our offensive play calling?

I don't know if any of you noticed, but in the Calgary game Dickenson, used Hugh Charles almost exclusively on outside runs. If my memory serves me right he ran into the middle only a couple of times. To me Dickenson is smart enough to know that Charles is not an inside runner, so he utilized his strengths. Too bad Bellefeuille doesn't do the same, as least more than he does now. -

Chad Anderson to sign with Bombers?
blitzmore replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The Colts announced on their website that they have signed offensive lineman Chad Anderson. To make room for the guard, the Colts waived undrafted rookie defensive endGannon Conway. Anderson, a 6’3″, 321 pound lineman, comes to Indianapolis by way of the LA Kiss of the Arena Football League. Anderson started 32-of-35 career collegiate games and was a three-time letterman at Northern Michigan. He made 32 consecutive starts over his final three seasons, including the last 21 at the right tackle position. As a senior in 2013, he blocked for an offense that averaged 352.8 total yards per game, including 231.7 yards passing and 121.1 yards rushing. Conway, signed in June after being waived by the Dolphins, was a UDFA out of Arizona State. In 30 career games (14 starts) for the Sun Devils, he recorded 51 tackles (33 solo), nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and two passes defensed. -

Just in case you're discouraged by the last two games ...
blitzmore replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
You are excluding the fact that we played basically 4 days before, not counting thursday and monday which was a travel day...we had ONE practice...we were on the road....it was very hot in the stadium because the roof was closed and it was very warm outside. Toronto had lots of rest and ways to figure out how to beat us. All of this has been stated numerous times! -
There are no facts here only conjecture...This is a useless thread and I would urge the moderators to close it, before it gets more out of hand!

Friesen Looking for Kyle Walters Questions

I guess you have never heard of a man named Moore? -
You must have been watching the Banjo Bowl from 2009 as I saw no ass-kicking going on last week. What I saw was a defense win the game for an offense that was getting its ass kicked. Obviously our defense was awesome, but we were completely manhandled in the trenches. And your point is? That on occasion even teams on a short week can win, especially seeing as they were the Cup champs last year and we were 3 and 15? Wow what a revelation.

Yes they are! They are trying to improve things every game. Third down short yardage for example. The return game for another. They can't do much with the nationals they have on the O line, but they can improve the internationals. That is why the whole scouting crew is hitting every single NFL camp at the moment. Did you really expect them to win this game with 1 practice? It would have been a bonus, but not the end of the world loss like some are trying to make it out to be. There were lots of good things in the game, not just bad.

Moving On -- Looking Ahead To Tuesday

Except for the fact they are playing Toronto. -
I don't think anyone should consider a loss "start to slide"! If we win with one practice against a team coming off a bye, despite some injuries on TO, we have some also...and a QB named Ray...it will just be a bonus if we win, and not a big deal if we lose.

So you'd have more confidence going into Labour Day if our run game was terrible tomorrow? I don't know how to know its 'fixed' when playing against lesser competition. Do you? I just think the Bombers will get a false sense of accomplishment/progress with the running game after this week. When in reality the problem isn't fixed. Do you really think the coaches are that stupid? They've already had talks about fixing the running game. I don't think they'll give that up because of just one game...nor will they give up trying to upgrade the team in all aspects all the time! -
Actually in training camp I thought the backs who impressed in order, were Cotton, the Cdn kid Brooks, then Grigsby.

No he's not! He juggles quite a few, drops some, and once caused a touchdown the other way! -
Seemed more that TSN wanted a story. Man did they over promote that one! I thought if they toned it down it was fine, but they didn't. Best athlete in the CFL? give me a break!

I would not want Grigsby as a receiver...he drops some and bobbles some others...I don't think he has the best hands really. Woods has much much better hands. -
What's happened to Jarvis Jones this year?

Lots of O line personnel get schooled by Chick...not just ours. -
Messam did that? I must have missed it. Let's see. 23 points. 7 from an interception returned for a touchdown. 7 from a fumble returned for a touchdown. 3 from a fumble recovered at the 20, minimal advancement, turned into a field goal. 3 from a field goal generated by the offence in the first half. Messam had 0 carries in the first half. 3 from a field goal generated by the offence in the second half. Okay, Messam contributed to the scoring of 3 points. The oddest thing in all of this is it's still a Messam vs Volny debate for some people even though not one single person has ever argued that Volny is a better running back. Volny has 0 carries this season. Just like I had said he would have. The Bombers aren't using him as a running back. Just like I previously said they would not. He remains a role player, just like he always has. His position is listed as RB. It would be more accurate if it just said "Player". Your logic is teetering on the edge of ridiculous. It doesn't matter if it's Volny or any of the other "non-impact" Natls. the Bombers harbour, when they pass on an "impact" Natl. you have to question the policy. Burgess is correct Messam was the difference between winning and losing last night despite your argument that he only contributed to 3 pts. He killed the clock and wore out the BB defence when nothing else was working for the RR. If he's in the Bombers backfield last night they have the ability to grind down the clock with a one point lead and 2 minutes to play without putting the ball in the sky. Messam had a great game last night. Behind that line he might have many. We don't have that line. The logic is pretty simple. People want to argue that Messam is a better running back than Volny. I don't know what imaginary person they are arguing with. Volny is not our backup RB. Cotton is. Forget Volny already. Messam is a more valuable Natl. than most of the no-name Natls. the Bombers employ. Thus he easily could have been accommodated on the roster when the opportunity presented itself for future use and benefit of the team. When the next Natl. LB comes available are they going to pass on him because they're already "set" at linebacker. I hope not. They have to think long-term and acquire Natl. assets and not just focus on the needs of the moment. Lots of teams passed on Messam including the ones that cut him. Do you not think there is a reason for that?
