  1. I don't think it's right to come out and publicly doubt the work ethic of your players and then tell people they can figure out who those players are by whether or not they're kept in the offseason. Because now you're putting that doubt in every player we don't retain. It went further than saying whether or not they're kept in the off season...it was...who is playing this game and who isn't.
  2. And you have no clue whether the architect was capable of designing the stadium or not. There are ALWAYS redesign requirements and additional costs with all major projects.
  3. Oh give up the hate for Miller already!
  4. Burke ruined himself...didn't need any help from anyone
  5. Miller likely already knows who he wants for GM candidates and in what order, not too hard to see how aggressive he is. Then it's a matter of talking to any that he has in mind, and in at least two cases he has apparently done so. He might not get who he wants at top, and the new GM might not get who is his first pick for HC, that's life in the big city. It is obvious though, that Miller and Walters will work through this and do what they think is best for the team. I also don't think $$ will be the issue this year. For those of you who have already anointed Tom Higgins as the next coming....If he does become GM...just hope you're right, or the crying and gnashing of teeth will be something to behold.
  6. Yup....throwing guys under the bus at this point really makes then want to come back. Burke is an idiot! Someone should tape his mouth shut!
  7. Hindsight is 20/20. It was the correct decision at the time. Obviously not...
  8. that's because they let the best place kicker go, who set a new cfl record He wasn't the best here when he was with us. And you know that how? He never got a chance

  10. Injuries have plenty to do with it. If he didn't start the season on the injured list for the first several games, he would have been in the lineup. It's hard to fathom that if he had more playing time this season that we'd even be talking about this. You say he is not playing currently because he is not good enough, I say it's because other players are playing better than him right now. There's a difference. It doesn't mean he is a "bust", and not worth protecting. I think you are too quick to write him off because he came in with high expectations and was a guy who was expected to work right into the offense and do some damage immediately. Poblah hasn't played up to expectations, but our team is not exactly rich in Canadian content, so as of right now, he is worthy of keeping around for what he can bring to the team. ok....you like him...even though you say other players are better....I don't....guess we'll see.
  11. That's all well and good, but he can't catch He can catch. We've seen it. He had a decent second year here after missing most of 2011. 2013 has been inconsistent as well with another injury then being regulated to spot duty. With Watson and Kohlert taking most of the first team reps, he just hasn't had the opportunity to get back in there on a regular basis. Guess you haven't been watching the same Poblah as I have. Injuries or not..you can't rely on him to get open, and if he does to make the catch. Guess that's why he is sitting on the bench. How many times has he even seen any game reps this year in the offense? He is sitting on the bench because we currently have 2-3 NI receivers that are better than him. He does have issues with getting open on a consistent basis, but he can be utilized better too. You just made my argument You're argument was that he can't catch. A pretty negligent comment, to say the least. He's performed under his expectations because of injury, and losing his starting spot to other NI receivers. How is that making your argument? Injury has nothing to do with whether he gets open or can catch. When he is injured he is not playing..so let's just leave that out of the equation because it is a weak argument. He is obviously not playing because he is not good enough. That includes getting open and catching the ball when he does. I can remember many drops easily that he should have caught. Stick up for him all you want, but he is a bust so far.

  15. Where we are in the standings...what did we have to lose by trying to win the game rather than tie? If Burke picked field goal which he did, then the opposite of that is the correct call...Burke has been making bad decisions all year...I have had my sig below for the whole year...Burke coaches scared!

  17. Keeping Walters around could turn out to be a very good move...how is anyone to know that....unless you consider yourself a physic?
  18. bad coaching, that's why
  19. It will help but we need a competent QB too. We have at best a competent backup in Hall. I didn't think I needed to say that...goes without saying
  20. If we can get a very competent O line coach...we will likely be improved.
  21. I'll take Etienne's set of hands over Poblah's anyday.
  22. What success? Our O line has been a mess for a long time I believe he was the OL coach when Fred Reid was here and had success. Oh good..that's the only criteria for your definition of success?
  23. What success? Our O line has been a mess for a long time
  24. but isn't this what has been said for the past several years? Not really...they have 15 or 16 O lineman in camp right now...when is the last time you have seen that?
  25. The problem is that he shouldn't be saying any of this. What kind of coach makes these kinds of excuses? Even if it's true, it is unprofessional and it does have an effect on the team as well. Can you imagine Marc Trestman or Corey Chamblin making the excuse that they didn't have enough talent to work with? No chance, because they are smart and understand that the responsibility ultimately falls on them. Burke is passing the buck to the organization, the GM, and the players, but never has a damn thing to say about what he did wrong himself. I agree with a lot of this. But this appears to be the stance the entire organization has taken. Both Walters and Miller have said the exact same things Burke has. All top organizations in all sports have one thing in common: from the owner to management to coaching, all three levels have the same vision and share the same plan on how to get there. The thing is that the Bombers vision and plan appear to be, "things were horrible before, but we're fixing them. Here's how." Unfortunately, things are still horrible at the moment. And you're point is?? It's ok for Miller and Walters to say that...it's their job to convince the paying public what they're doing to fix an obviously bad team in certain areas. It's not Burke's job to regurgitate what he has heard them saying, it's his job to keep the players motivated and ready to play no matter what! I think it's also pathetic that he never seems to have a clue which of his players are coming back from injury and which aren't. He always has to ask someone else. If I was HC I would want to know that every morning before I had to go to a press conference. It's called being prepared!
