  1. People have some high expectations. How many times has Hamilton won or been in the Cup in 20 years....ditto the dry spell in Edmonton? Only one team wins and nobody remembers the bride's maid. Who lost in the Stanley Cup finals last year as an example?
  2. Who said or knows that the Riders blew the Cap up to get a winner? That is yet to be determined. Remember some of their pick up vets were guys on the street with little bargaining power.

  10. I know Jim Bell and he did want to be CEO. Somewhat disappointing he wasn't rewarded for his dedication and hard work.

  12. Interesting observation about the good news bad news delivery. Perhaps similar to Buchko often being the good news guy and Jim Bell getting waltzed out for the bad news. Curious as to Bell again not being considered for the CEO gig. Someone with a on the job education for that position you might have thought.
  13. Want to know about Higgins... Then ask Miller and Higgins about it. Curious to hear Miller tap dance around an interview he had with Higgins. So there is one of two people who are your source.
  14. My guess is there will be great representation from down the QEW. Should make for great atmosphere there.
  15. I would suggest people might examine Worman's resume. It is a road map of short tenures spread over an atlas. Perhaps that isn't necessarily a positive indication.

  17. Khari would rank as an inexperienced OC so who might u suggest he then hire as an experienced one? The biggest concern everyone should have is all these apparent hires taking place without a GM. Is there a flaw in this process?

  19. The dominos will begin to fall. As Burke's agent I would suggest a buyout on my HC salary, but the Club will simply opt for salary continuance in the hope Burke takes a job elsewhere and they then stop paying him. If he wants the money stay as DC with my HC pay. I think he should go for a fresh start elsewhere .

  21. I hope Burke gets an opportunity elsewhere for his sake. Ottawa, Calgary when Campbell moves to Edm as HC, or Edm as DC. Hedeservesto be in a better situation.
  22. Perhaps if we historically review the hiring policies and procedures of the last number of years my so called negative attitude towards this company would make sense. Yes , this company that has continued to make bad hires and pay people not to work. Apply the Bomber business model to any other management model and I would ask you if you would invest in it? Not a thousand or two for tickets as a fan but as a business person. Take your subjective fan side of this equation and apply an objective business approach and you decide. Step one is to remove the fans of the BoD, or at the very least reduce or minimize there involvement in hiring people to run this company be it business people or professionals. This current cycle is a repeat of the poor Board hirings when Cal Murphy was let go. Succession planning and building a sound management structure is paramount. Until that happens we will continue to see the repeating pattern that has evolved.
  23. His football background? He was a special teams player. That translates into what in terms of running a football team?
  24. I'll use the example, Worman. If and when Worman is hired it is Miller's hire. Why is the CEO hiring a personnel guy and not the GM? No strings on that.
