I still remain unclear as to who is in the long line of experienced candidates for the GM job? I would also like to see everyone's job description as to the specific necessary qualifications to fill that job. So far it is basically a hope and a prayer on hear and no actually meat as to people's expectations.

If you don not provide the correct paper work explaining the option year to the player to sign why do you expect the contract to remain legally valid. The Ti Cats tried to pull a fast one or they were ignorant of the rules. Same result he is a FA.

Depth provides the opportunity to draft NIMPs that are NCAA juniors that you can wait on. That has been Mtl philosophy with their draft. It makes for a constant supply of o line in your system. So until you have any solid stable of NIMPs stop drafting guys that you have no idea when they will come free.

This goes back to Wally pulling the same crap on Cameron Wake. The key here is there an addendum in the CBA that teams either ignore or don't get players to sign. It specifically explains the extra option year to a contract. It virtually tells a player that a one year is a one and an option , 2 year is 2 years an an additional year. It too can be cause for voiding a contract. The other issue is in the NFL agents and players have to sign a contract. There was talk of including this in the last CBA of the CFL but I am not sure how or why it was not included. It may come up again.

I am not aware of any nips in the NCAA system right now. Hopefully there is.

No I really think that if we had a first rate o line the run game and the pass game would be vastly improved and the kicking game would be perhaps somewhat less of an issue.

I'll check again. I have him with 7 for 336. Take off one of 10yds for the onside kick and I get 54.5 yds the same as Palardy. So we upgraded from a 25 yr old to a 32 yr old.

The guy that was really under the radar was Rick Campbell. Nelson had been out of the cfl for along time and Campbell got Nelson back up to speed.....both quality guys. Campbell would make a good HC some day. As with all defensive HC their challenge is access to a quality OC.

How does a long time defensive coach, who has developed schemes to play against an offence not know anything about offence? He has been watching offensive film from other teams his entire carrer.

Cal may have spent but football ops budgets have literally tripled since then and what has the result been ? Cal knew what it took to win and his record reflects that.
