  1. Riders trade Durrant rather than pay him. Winnipeg paid Willy and continued to play him for half the season. Who can say what is right or wrong?
  2. Imports are loving the one year deals....re up after a year take a chunk as signing bonus and only get taxed 15% on the bonus.
  3. He demonstrated he had the speed and range to cover on a CFL field. I agree he might get some reps at strong safety down there.
  4. Regardless of which team QB depth with experience is critical. Your starter is one play away from being out for the season.
  5. Securing QB depth is paramount. This league has proven that year in and out. Other players can be sacrificed and scouting needs to fill those slots. QB isn't one of those spots.
  6. Not sure what Crompton's health status is?
  7. Glenn may have well had a roster bonus due and was released as a result of that. Potentially they could still r sign him.
  8. Grown significantly? So did the dandelions in my back yard.
  9. Some teams are smart ending up. Rather dishing out the big bucks they are trying to make QBs get a good base and earn the rest. As it should be.
  10. Wow....order a jersey with one of those names...I dare you.
  11. Sadly the business side of having a French component either in your coaching staff or players is reality in Quebec, be it football or hockey. The way it is. Look at the NFL they had their own discrimination issues and then legislated a minority hiring policy for team staff.
  12. Best job is #2 QB in the NFL......the less you play the longer you get paid. Sean Salisbury had an isteamed NFL career until he had to play....then they figured it out he wasn't worth do do.
  13. If you want a cheerleader hire one, the expectation that media are, or should be fans is ludicrous. I want objective reporting and editorial opinions from the media. Not propaganda designed to help sell a product. Any way you sclice that it is advertisement. Tait was good at the FP but why do I want to read him now?
  14. Nichols , like it or not is the deaf to starter and needs to be resigned. That still leaves the issue of having a competent back up in the fold, be it Glenn or someone else. This year again proved that having adequate depth at QB in the CFL is paramount.
  15. Mack is going to Mtl. Initial reports were as AGM, but he maybe the PP guy. Either way there loss.
  16. You can like or hate who you want but success in this league is predicated on your QB, experience at QB and on your depth at QB. Substitute whatever names you like in the equation but until bending FAs are signed there are more blanks then answers.
  17. It often depends on season ticket dates and deadlines when teams are trying to pump air into the tires of fans.
  18. Here you go Stewart, Carr, Suber, Hopkins, Hall and Pointbrand were the six non Mack guys.
  19. Declaring the Bombers as a perennial playoff team is perhaps a bit premature. Solidifying the QB spot is critical. The teams that have failed to have a solid starter as well as depth at the QB spot struggle to make the post season.
  20. I know 6 guys off of that list that were scouted by someone else in the organization and not by Mack.
  21. The bigger issue with Mack was his complete lack of scouting, recruiting, evaluating and understanding the importance of Canadian players.
  22. The high end Nationals that are legitimate starters / players get paid. The low end special teasers don't get paid. Where teams run into trouble is they believe a ST guy can transition into a starter, they pay him accordingly and he doesn't pan out.....case in point Hurl.
