  1. If they were 2 year deals flush about 250k to gun them both. What would the cost be in cancelled tickets?
  2. A think Kohlert is legitimate and underrated but Given Watson's lack of durability, the inexperience of the others and lack of depth I think this maybe a real stretch.
  3. It does become a problem if he ends up being a 120k backup ST player.
  4. Bucknor was a starter and as a FA you don't think he expects starter money? So those of you that want to replace him on the field yet expect to sign him, what kind of money do you want to then pay him? I might suggest that he is a must sign as this team has yet to establish it is in a position to start 3 National O line, 2 National receivers , 1National DL and another National anywhere but Field corner. Walters is going to have to buck up for Bucknor whether the GMs on this site like it or not.
  5. Suitor all over Ottawa at the end for not kicking the FG to get it to 8 and going for the onside kick. Last I heard the rule had been changed back. Ottawa kicks the FG and Hamilton elects to scrimmage the ball from their 35. Nice job Suitor.
  6. Based on the lack of success this team had with 3 international on the o line nature that is a viable solution.
  7. More importantly might be a team that doesn't consistently lose the turnover ratio in games....a significant correlation in the outcome of games.
  8. Enough of the blame game. We apparently hired the best o line coach on the planet and sent the worst one to Calgary? What's wrong with that picture. Be it poor talent, poor schemes, poor coaching, poor play calling.....enough the end result? Poor production, poor protection and poor football. The big thinkers, Miller, Walters, and O'Shea watched it and our responsible for it and not it's time to see how they plan on fixing it.
  9. Not sure why Collaros gets very little love in these rankings. Far better numbers then Willy, half as many picks, he can scramble and has a much quicker release then Willy....something that is starting to look like a problem.
  10. LaPo going to the Cup that year was an aberration, that team resembled the current team going something like 1-7 in the second half. They were I'll prepared and embarrassed in the Cup game but sadly getting there saved his ass.
  11. Why can't someone just be a fan of the CFL with the desire to watch quality football regardless of the out come of a game?
  12. My concern is at one point the Club had a ten year promotion called The Presidents Club. It was an attempt to get a cash influx when their were financial problems at the Club. It only resulted in cash upfront that was then spent resulting in even leaner times in the subsequent years when the money was gone. I hope this isn't a similar venture.
  13. Hope is the key tool in sports marketing. When a game or product results in a 50-50 proposition hope is what you try and sell.
  14. Gee thanks for pointing that out. The point being they have turned it around in one season....it can be done. If they do win the cup this year...remember where u heard it
  15. Hamilton went from the outhouse to the Cup last season as did Edmonton this season. It can be done. Teams never want to use the rebuilding cliche it doesn't sell tickets
  16. Everybody and their uncle might play this week. By activating PR players you activate their contracts and retain their rights. May only be until Feb15th now on guys with one year deals but longer on deals longer than one year. Anyone with a pulse who they want should be activated.
  17. Not sure it is antiquated thinking. The rational might have been there was or is a greater supply of nip o line and from a longevity issue they can certainly have longer careers resulting in potentially less turnover. All contingent on the ability to draft guys that can actually play or sign FAs.
  18. Anyone know what sort of financial layout you might have to make in advance of the 16, 17 seasons?
  19. I thought maybe Etch had taken over the site.
  20. Mike needs to realize that he is not a player anymore and that the loyalty players always show to follow players needs no to be tempered with objectivity. Loyalty to queen and country is grand but at some point he needs to realize some of his players let him down and his staff needs to be seriously reviewed. He will otherwise end up being the captain that goes done with his crew.
  21. Not sure I buy into the hurt hand excuse. If in fact he was hurt why was he playing? What is the difference between a bad player and a hurt player? Nothing...they both play poorly.
  22. He is running out of next times. There is nothing that says you can't pull a starter for a series or two. It a) provides a change up for a defence to adjust to, provides the starter to settle himself if need be C) always the QB to see things develop from the sidelines and D) allows the coaching staff to communicate with him. Ain't that tough MOS
  23. The notion of giving MOS or any coach a short leash then becomes who is the next man up when you make that decision part the way through the subsequent season? Who on this staff would you bring back let alone elevate to HC? All part of a measure of succession planning in any business.
