  1. Still curious as to where the 7 NIPs are playing ?
  2. I guess Drew is going to feed and house them as well?
  3. Can someone please enlighten me as to where the 7 NIP starters are going to lineup?
  4. Braley has made money solely on hosting Grey cup games in Toronto and Vancouver not based on attendance in those cities for regular season games.
  5. Increasing theCap to 5 million in a new agreement doesn't necessarily have any immediate impact on players and cash in their pockets now. They are under contract and they would all need todo new deals to take advantage of an increase in the Cap.
  6. I am anxious to hear the reaction of fans when an increase in money to the players translates into increases in ticket prices to the fans. In Ontario it was anticipated that increasing the minimum wage will eventually trickle down to the consumers. People also talk about the a Bomber profit. I have yet to hear reports of the cost over run loan being paid back to CIBC or any instalments having been paid back on the debt servicing to the province.
  7. The CFL threw in the 3k bonus for signing specifically because it was a one time item that they don't get locked into. They know the mentality of the players....short sighted, broke, broke and broke so tangle a carrot and don't get stuck into an item with repeated costs. I would suggest that the CFL will be more inclined to sweeten the pot with items that have no carry over costs.
  8. That is correct...not until they are part of the active roster when the team is picked.
  9. If you hate CBA negotiations, how do you feel about election campaigns ?
  10. Negotiating in the media. Stop complaining about the CFL doing it when the players have already let it out about strike ballots going out and their demands. Both sides are have done it and will continue to do it. The CFL isn't stupid they are appealing to the vast majority of players that are broke withe the instant 3K payout with no long term lingering costs associated with it. The challenge is the hard line NIP rich kids think they run the PA, not the lower end majority of the membership. Raising the minimum does nothing for the current membership, they don't make the minimum anyway. That impacts rookie basically and they don't become voting members of the PA until they make a roster. The CFL knows that's who they need to hit the working class, bulk of the membership and not those negotiating.
  11. All the draft hype simply requires a historical review of how many drafted players even played and how many games they played if they played? Never mind what round they were even drafted in. At best it is a low percentage and not a long and storied carrier by most.
  12. The fact remains the longer u r out the tougher it is to get back in.
  13. Wally understands the need and value of having a second experienced QB.
  14. Nobody wants to make the minimum. The minimum is always seen as a starting point by the players and agents. So hoisting the minimum even more just increases the expectations of players making more than the minimum.
  15. Bringing in a vet that you don't want is a risk of owning a veteran salary due to an injury.....no upside to a guy that u need to replace.
  16. Not Mc Neil thanks....
  17. Well they just have to worry about him roughing his own QB at practice now. Bets on how.ong it takes him to get a roughing the passer penalty?
  18. He did reup with TSN and turned down the Montreal OC job when Popp was still HC. Making OC coin without the hours and stress of the job. He says HC or bust. Best be careful as thelo George is off the sidelines the harder it is to get back.
  19. Pretty funny that the upper level players and the demand exceeds the supply NIPs always become the hard liners because they have their own money in the bank. The bulk of the players are now broke awaiting their first camp cheques. The league knows it and a strike saves them locking the players out and potential legal labour hassles in a coupler provinces. Welcome to the real world of labour negotiations fellas. Like it or not the league has the upper hand here. Cry if you want to.
  20. Has there been any mention here that any payments pending the debt to the government have been deferred pending repayment of a 10 million dollar loan by CIBC for the upgrades of the jumbo torn and ribbon board not included in the initial loan?
  21. Bauer had no previous deal or offer in place prior to resigning from the Bombers. Huff and Bauer had and have an excellent relationship going back to their playing days in Winnipeg. Huff and Bauer remain in contact with each other. My source.....Bauer.
  22. Not true...he actually had his fill of the BoD thinking they had all the answers, in particular the incoming Chair at the time Watchorn and felt it was time to move on.
  23. Bauer left, he wasn't fired by the BoD.
  24. The issue of depth at centre has to be a concern, regardless of the draft. Morley has been a challenge at guard, never mind the added responsibility of snapping the ball. Kowalchuk has what a game as a starter in 3 or 4 years. Time for him to pony up or go home.
  25. The CFL tests in the off season as well as during the season.
