Yikes......LaPo is nuts if he doesn't take an OC job. Given the recent HC hirings were does he think a HC job is going to happen? The most likely would be B.C. At best. Take the OC job there with the hope of getting promoted.

The question remains as to why BC let both their OC and DC go?

Higgins was given the job because there was felt a need to educate officials by someone wh had intimate knowledge and perspective of the game. It was felt that the officials didn't know the game and were officiating from a text book perspective and rather from a true understanding of the game. It was also thought that the perspective of officials completely policing there own would result in them eing protective of their own. I guess time will tell.

And how does everyone feel about the cheating that goes on with putting healthy players on the 9 game injured to avoid the Cap? Is that acceptable cheating ? Even the innocent Bombers do that.

It isn't cheating....it is not an attempt to hide or bury expenditures . It is a penalty for overspending. Teams know the consequences of overspending and the bigger risk of cheating. Stop hating the winners.

Some teams use FA camps as a cash grab too. Some poor kids with little or no coin shell out $100 for a tee shirt and a chance to run a 40. 150 kids at a workout not sure that qualifies as a fair look. Multiply that by going to 5 or 6 workouts and it is tough on the wallet. Mack and Moll ran pre scouted workouts by invitation only. They didn't charge and brought or invited players they were really interested in. Quantity does not necessarily equate to quality in terms of the number of scouts or the number of workouts.

NFL signing bonuses are less frequent for FAs these day as they are restricted to 75k total outlay for them.

It will be interesting to see if Wpg or Ottawa hire first. Some of the candidates might prefer one job over the over but might have to decide first. A bit of poker and a bit of chess....or might it be chicken?
