I live in Charleswood. I see more wildlife by my place than any camping trip this summer.

Jets announce 2017 Young Stars Classic roster
Jimmy Pop replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Golly wouldn't that be nice?! Comparables are there; Toby spent his first few pro seasons overseas, undersized, late draft pick. From what we've heard, excellent skater. Gotta figure he's ready for full-time AHL duty at minimum. That'd be a nice step up from Liiga. -
If Blue come out strong on O, moving the ball with a string of first downs early, I think we'll be fine. I expect a much better showing on D. Does Glenn have another 3 TD/0 INT game against us? Wouldn't bet on it. Closed practices this week hint at some Osh and Lapo trickery. One thing I would bet on is IGF crushing 104 decibels. Stay classy & have fun everyone. Most importantly, GO BLUE! #FortHew

That they watch the game and don't spend time painstakingly analyzing the announcers?

who the hell is Steve Guttenberg anyway?

really enjoying s3 of Narcos so far.... 5 episodes in. Pedro Pascal is excellent as DEA Agent Pena - same actor who plays Oberyn Martell in GOT.

Ian Wild.

What will be different in the Banjo Bowl?
Jimmy Pop replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That's the best part.... Who's got the richer history - Well that's no debate. Most Cup appearances (still) and 10 Cup wins is better than 4. Hell, Bud Grant coached us to 4 wins all by himself! Oh, and who brought Western Canada it's first Cup? Thought so. OK - but what have you done for me lately - Thanks for asking! This year's 7-3 coupled with last year = 18-10 in our last 28 games, or a 64% win rate. That's 11 or 12 wins in a season. <<< Give me that kind of mark from here til the end of time, and this Bomber fan is happy. - - - - Really though.... 1990 is the dumbest Bombers insult ever. If I were a Rider fan, and I hadn't already off'd myself because of it, i'd mock the Bombers for 2007. Glenn this, Glenn than. 2007 Grey Cup is THE ONLY thing that franchise should hold over us. Luckily for us, half their fanbase now weren't watching back then -

Suitor was on 1290 yesterday and must have referenced the fake Rider injuries....AS A BOMBER EXCUSE...about 4 times. No where have I seen a Bomber use that as an excuse for the loss. Did they like it? No. Did the Riders deserve the W, absolutely. Darren Cameron rightly took objection with Rod Pedersen making the same accusation. Suitor's like Pedersen, only he's played the game and is half intelligent at least. Anytime there's a fire to stoke, this numbskulls go full board. I suppose a Rider fan could rightly accuse Dougie and Westwood of doing the same here. Maybe it's my bias, but I find Stegall extremely professional. He likes the Bombers, but doesn't stop him from being objective. FWIW 85 said all fair game re: Riders and their "injuries". And Cuthbert....by golly, he's one of the best in biz.

[–]jmirtle[S] 1 point 29 minutes ago I'm working on Winnipeg as we speak. There should be more information within the next five days. https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/6ygiv4/james_mirtle_head_of_hockey_canadian_operations/?st=j7991534&sh=de376a38

(SOURCE) Contract Extensions for Maurice AND Chevy
Jimmy Pop replied to Jimmy Pop's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Maurice's teams have missed the playoffs 12 times, made the playoffs 5 times. He's under .500 as a coach here. Bottom line is even a 1 yr extension is "hoping for the best". -
(SOURCE) Contract Extensions for Maurice AND Chevy
Jimmy Pop replied to Jimmy Pop's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Yes & yes. There seems to be some notion that Maurice is an upper echelon-type coach. Like he'd potentially leave us after this year and be picked up by a Cup favourite. I don't get that. -
Well apparently he's in North Dakota today! Ewww.... way too close for comfort. It's pretty shocking tbh. Plop a street view on any street in the worst hit area, looks like a warzone. Lower 9th Ward

Always interesting to see what kind of content we'll get.... he's on the Jets payroll after all. - - - - - Any thoughts on who's likely to head The Athletic's Winnipeg entry?

Yet another new HBO show I'm pretty pumped for. David Simon of The Wire fame teams up with author George Pelecanos with whom he's collaborated with before on both the wire and Treme. Pretty stellar cast including James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal - who's also a producer. http://www.indiewire.com/2017/09/the-deuce-review-james-franco-hbo-porn-1201872317/

THANKS for the reminder! - plans made for tonight.

And you haven't seen any posts referencing "you Bomber fans" this and that by them.... in our house? You quote mystery numbers of their fans, well what % of ours happen to post here? It goes both ways, don't spill paint on everyone. I mean I went back and re-read the Rider related threads before posting this & really don't get what the hubbub is all about. Seems like some weird victim game being played by some. Some back and forths yeah, anything egregious? Come on, man. I for one respect the level of moderation at this place - far from overboard, but I've never thought any of them are afraid to step in when things go off the rails. I mean Mike's comment was the most liked one in that thread - so clearly many here are down with the good luck's and well wishes and safe travels - which is awesome!! Some too, aren't afraid to respond when they think there's some silly talk about their team. I think that's pretty great too! Geez we've ripped each other apart worse than the green clad fellas got this week. I'd like to think I'm pretty welcoming to non Bombers / Jets fans in our buildings. I'd also like to think those instances mean a bit more than a fun Internet forum.... which has been making fun of itself since the beginning anyway! Where's the ol Bryant Turner talk when you need it!

Eh you're memories are close enough. Individual game attendances are tricky to pinpoint - at least so far for me. But I recall the same.... I'll defend Bomber fans til the end of times, but we're not a traditionally strong playoff city. - - - So, I figure I started attending games full-time as a kid about 1994. In the 23 seasons since, we've hosted 9 home playoff games. Worse yet, that 9/23 total includes '94 and 2001 when we had 2 home games each season. Ouch.

Bombers Sweep Players Of The Month (August)
Jimmy Pop replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Seems like it's back up now... And have NO FEAR - Corrine's real estate ads are still there. PHEW! -
Wikipedia says 30,050. I think that can be attributed to 2011 season was supposed to be the last at Canad Inns. This should have been the last game - with Chris Garret scoring a late TD to cap a 19-3 defensive win. Of course, we were at Winnipeg Stadium for another season. 2011 was also notable as we broke our season ticket sales record with over 21K. That said, in my lifetime anyway, Bomber home playoff games have never been huge sellers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Winnipeg_Blue_Bombers_season
