I think you'd have to be a pretty dumb organization to abandon the build thru the draft philosophy - but no one's suggesting that. What they need to do be more aggressive in rounding out the roster, making quicker decisions on struggling players and/or coaches and systems. Essentially, act like a team that expects to make the playoffs every year. The 2017/18 season for us shouldn't just be "yaaay we're in the NHL!!" - like it has since 2011. 6 years is enough time to build your core young group, establish you're draft and roster building strategies. It's everything besides that they fall short on to date.

First off, nice post @BigBlue I'm right there with you on most of your comments. To add.... - love the idea of pre/post/half time bands, especially local. A nice way to add a little bit to the exp & make it not just about football. Also - seems to me it could aid in growing the fanbase. Maybe a group of teens isn't interested in football or the big blue (the horror!) - but they know the band playing, grab cheap seats and check it out. Maybe a few become fans. - relating to that, Bombers continue to do good work at that tailgate area. Fun place to be before and during halftime. Tad more communication with fans re: smoking out there could have helped, but that's being picky. I just appreciate heads up when you change a 4 yr old policy mid-season. - parking. those who bother to read my posts may remember I'm a big advocate of the park & ride. They've continually made it better & smoother, even moreso this year with the new loop at IGF. - if you aren't doing the park & ride, and don't mind a walk: my favourite option so far is parking at St.Vital park. It's free. Gates are open real late. Probably a 20 mins walk to the stadium, depending on how fast you walk and if you bring road soda's (encouraged). There's a fantastic little lemonade stand that kids set up on the walk; popcorn & cookies too, at least as of last year! Best of all we have an organization that now shows they value the fanbase....and I'm not so sure that's been a constant over the years. Couple that with a damn good team..... fun, fun, fun!

This. I'm a fan of all players you mentioned, but you're bang on..... if this season doesn't go to plan, it's Maurice gone first, then the fire-sale of vets. I hope that doesn't happen and I don't think it will. But that's where we're at. Enough pissing away years contending in the name of drafting & developing.

My recollection was several posters tried to take him up on the offer, but he was all, "nah that was only directed at so-and-so, not all of you". Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly though. Doesn't mean I'm changing my signature anytime soon.

Holy crow that was fun!! How great are these guys to watch!? Super proud of the team. Battle ready and resilient. Tough as nails. Andrew freakin Harris. Unreal game, even with the giveaway. Nichols throwing darts all game long, even with a poor sack or two. D did just enough. Still think it's the system more than the players that's giving us pass D issues, but hell theyre winning, who am i I argue. Plus that Edm rec core is legit, even without Bowman. Crowd was fantastic. Here's hoping for a mild fall to keep that place full. Such a riot when there's 30K+. We won, so I'll lay off Andre Proulx and his crew. Something special with this group... it's been building for awhile. Oh and mom had a great time.

Maybe this was just with MTS... but I typically watch GOT on VOD, and this last episode was the first I noticed several ads before the show started - granted just HBO previews, not actual commericals.

That's awesome!! I'll share my "great work Bombers" story, too. So, I wanted to take my mom to today's game, we don't make it to as many as I'd like together but try for at least 1 a year. She's the reason I'm a fan after all. I have a single season seat in 209 right next to a great crew of buddies. Unfortunately, the seat directly beside me the other direction was unavailable and with 30K expected I wasn't going to risk having seats in multiple rows, for example. Anywho, I call up the office and give the girl (Jenn, I think?) my situation. Also mention my mom's getting up there in age, so sightlines and stairs can be an issue. Well she immediately suggested I exchange my season seat for this one game. In 2 mins she's found us seats together, down in 113. With the exchange, I paid for 1 seat & and an extra $5 i think. Really appreciated their accomodations GO BOMBERS, baby! #FORTHEW

Slow down cowboy, check the name of the forum. This started when a Rider Oiler fan claimed Scheifele and RNH were equals right now. Can’t expect our team’s fans to sit idly and listen to crazy, we don’t do it on the other side of this place. Scheifele's been twice the offensive player RNH has 2 seasons in a row, not to mention being top 5 in PPG…in. The. League. You can claim RNH is Patrice Bergeron all you want, I don't see how defense, intangibles, whatever, in Nuge's favour can make up for that much production. Career-wise, RNH has never come close to matching 55's last season....and don't tell me there hasn't been years when offence was his #1 priority for EDM, nor has he had a lack of star power around him. Oh, and for how defensive he is, interesting he had 40 more shorts that Scheifele last season. Perhaps there’s a tad of undervaluing the Nuge going on here, I’d grant you. But I think you’re massively underselling the 18 months Scheifele’s coming off of. Let’s see how this season plays out, for each & their teams.

Strictly a hypothetical... but who'd ya rather.... McJesus / Draisaitl at $21M/year or Scheifs / Laine at $16M/year* We all know who the best of the 4 is, and in these things usually you take whatever side has the best player.... but I don't know. Jets have a pretty decent chance at getting Laine AND Ehlers locked up along with Scheifele for about the same as Edm's duo.
