Another good one is http://www.pickuphockey.com/. I use it for work pools. You download a free pickup sheet from elsewhere, Dobber Hockey, or something like that. Then input teams and players chosen, site does the rest of the work for you.

Around The NHL 2016/2017

Fascinating to me that Maurice has actually coached more games than Sutter. I wouldn't have thought that. Then again Sutter has 89 playoff wins to Maurice's 25. Yuck. -

To me signing Trouba long term is the biggest priority this offseason. If Chevy gets that done I'd almost be willing to look past the inevitable let down coming Re: free agency. The core of this team is pretty clear now and they'll all guys under 24. Over the coming years signing Ehlers, Laine, and Morrissey to long term extensions is just as crucial as Trouba. Im torn on how to address the goaltending. Even after this years struggles I still think TNSE believes one of Helle or Comrie is the future #1. Can it happen soon enough is the question. I think it's a pipe dream to expect Bishop, Darling or even Fleury here. But do we need an established #1? We need league average goaltending and we're a playoff team. Ottawa is 9th in the league in GA and started Condon 37 games. Calgary is 14th in GA and started Johnson 36 games. Anaheim got 32 games out of Bernier. All playoff teams. These are the calibre guys I think would be more likely to come to Wpg #1, and #2 maybe that's all we need? My biggest concern heading into the offseason lies at the feet of our staff, not the players. Individually so many took huge strides this year, but we still lag so far behind in too many categories. Eventually (I would hope) the excuses of scheduling, injuries etc get out of this org's vocabulary. Big, big offseason coming up. -
But at least Toronto has the market to support 2 teams. This would be more like putting an NFL team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, just because the Packers are beloved in the cheese belt.

Bombers Release Financial Report Ahead Of Fan Open House
Jimmy Pop replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
TIL Park & Riders exist year-round and run daily. I had thought they were just for Bomber games. I can't believe people would think P&R's are not essential to the team and stadium. It's not 1950. Rightly or wrongly, people want convenience. And when your choices are take 3 different buses to get to UofM or watch it on TV - what do you think most Wpg would choose? And to the comment about how all other cities handle transport to and from the stadium - how many other cities our size have a comparatively awful public transit system? P&R are my primary mode to get to games, and I'd surely be willing to pay 10 instead of 5 if that's what was decided. On the flip side, if I had less to pay, but had to navigate normal bus routes & times - I'd probably give up my seats. -

It's already a 5th now. 4th if the B's win a round. -
Game 80 : 3 Games Left @ Blues
Jimmy Pop replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Good teams get aided by their youth. They are fresh legs, energy & outlook. Not to mention skill. They make the team better. Our youth is the excuse. Our youth is holding us back; see Maurice's comments about Ehlers throughout the year, or Laine on the 4th Moose powerplay unit. We struggle because we're young. Comparing the Jets to many other teams is like comparing the Cleveland Cavs with the Winnipeg Cyclone. Yeah, it's the same sport. But pretty much a different league. And expectations of success..... well, I'm still waiting on those. Hopefully year 7 is the year we expect to make the playoffs. -

The problem I have with next season is that in all likelihood, we're going to ice a very similar looking team, built by the same guy and coached by the same staff. Should it not improve, say 6 weeks into the season, what then? Tear 'er down? I just hope internally there's a lot more "WTF can we change here because what we do is NOT working" going on behind close doors that we're not aware of. If it's as Lawless says, and extensions are already primed for Chevy & Maurice to sign and everything's hunky dory - then I've got serious concerns. -
Penguins have a better winning % without Crosby in the lineup.

To increase the exposure of the National Hockey League. Telling half the story is better than making one up. How does hockey in general, or the NHL more importantly, benefit from Olympic participation? No one's answering this. That's the problem!!

You can make the argument that it's just as much the players who aren't interested in making anything happen. Sure, they're all talking a good game. What concessions are you willing to make to go to the Games? Bettman represents the owners. All season long he's been asking the PA for something to take to the owners to compensate for the season break. We can go to the games if you extend the CBA for 5 years - that kind of thing. I get why the players would scoff at that, I probably would too. But I get where the owners are coming from. You're taking their assets, suspending league operations and creating another season scheduling nightmare - and for what? I've still yet to hear any tangible benefit to the National Hockey League beyond the idea that the best athletes should be at the Olympics, period. So to me, taking the players side simply because they all say they want to go, and they are on the fans side and all that jargon is just shortsighted. Both sides, and throw in the IOC and IIHF too, have all been playing around with this and getting no where. Players just look better because they're on same side as fans.

I think the logical move it benching Wheeler. Move Thorburn to first line. Connor - Petan - Roslovic as the 4th line. - Maurice, probably.

That's if we're sure it was "Grey Goose" to begin with. Are we sure it wasn't a grey goose Farmer Fred hit on the side of the road?

But what does that all have to do with Hutch? He's had 4 good starts in a row in meaningless games, who cares. At least the ONE time Pavelec went on a heater we got a playoff spot out of it. Anyone who's on this board enough knows I've been a staunch Hellebuyck supporter - at the cost of my sanity, credibility etc. So why so down on Hutch? He's further down the career path. Far more established as a pro, still not good enough, and IMO his career path has been trending down the last few seasons. We know what he is at this point. So to should the Jets, but I won't hold my breath. Frankly given Chevy & the team's recent history, we should expect at least 1 head-scratcher of a signing or re-signing. *shudders* Stuart, Thorburn, Hutch, Strait.... who's it going to be? -

I mean I don't see it advantageous to him to outright lie or mislead the team and our market. People understand it's his right to pick a team should he choose. If that's the route he ends up taking, why not state it now. But as you say, reasons to sign or not sign that we may not be privy to.
