  1. That's why it would be helpful to know a little more about how/why the security was not present at either one of the 3/4 incidents the woman and her son had. Given what we've been presented with, what more were they to do, in advance of these incidents? Not being a jerk, legit question. Better training for those selling booze? More staff & security? The Jets have always had an announcement at games giving a number you can text for assistance; disruptive behaviour around you and the like. Sometime like that here, if not already in place, seems like a good idea.
  2. If you aren't involved, you probably shouldn't be stopping. I witnessed a good collision Corydon @ Stafford a couple years ago. Must have been 4 or 5 cars that stopped on either side of the street, some getting out, some staying in. As soon as ONE person is on a cell phone in the area - GTFO. You're in the way of emergency personnel.
  3. Hey, me too! UW / Menno Simmons - graduated in 2011. I agree with you on the bolded part, I just don't think it applies here. The "victims" (which isn't the preferred conflict res terminology, as we both know) haven't faced their offenders at all. They faced the media and let the media disseminate the story to the masses.
  4. Torts! What the hell are you doing? What's next, Wheeler in net?!?
  5. So the CBC article actually gives some more detail than CTV (or OP) bothered to provide. I thought maybe (hoped) it was more isolated with knuckleheads in the seats. Seems like it was several different people / groups of people all throughout the stadium. Even worse and surely not a good look for us fans. "Then he started saying like super mean things about me being large and he said 'why don't you go on the weight training, go train with the Riders and maybe they'll play better next time!' "And then my son yells back, 'We live here!' and I was so proud of him for screaming that," Emond said. http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/manitoba/banjo-bowl-fan-beer-son-1.3758916
  6. Downright strange, indeed. I'd almost bet that it wasn't even fans per se, it's just rowdies showing up for the first time this season causing trouble, not Forum members or probably even season ticket holders. I know my section wouldn't stand for that behaviour. You'd look at the same people in the eye this Saturday after berating a child last week? The Bombers have security for a reason. Where they involved? Mom say anything? CTV not bother to ask? I find that odd. I'm 28 and I don't think I'd have an issue narcing out someone who purposely dumped a beer on me, coupled with the other crap. Good on the Bombers for making it right... And hopefully mom and son do go back to IGF..and have a GREAT time!
  7. Not sure who runs the MBB Twitter, but good on you for taking Penton to task.
  8. The only thing that could have made these trades better is if Walters somehow unloaded Pavelec's contract for Chevy...
  9. Willy getting no respect from Jovon!
  10. And on the follow-up interview with 1290, he reiterated that it didn't come from anyone on the team. He was asked about usage league-wide and didn't seem to have a guess to how many are using. All-in-all it's a story of a guy who got himself in a dark place personally, and used drugs and alcohol to cope. At least he's sober again now, and seemingly taking full responsibility for his actions. I admire his candidness.
  11. Wayne's World. Circa 2009
  12. Regina's nicest restaurant is the Burger Baron.
  13. Cam Marshall released by Jacksonville. Didn't see that here yet?
  14. Me personally, nope don't care. If Mark Stuart's named captain, then maybe. If it's Wheeler, they're putting the C on their best player. If it's Scheifele, it's their highest ceiling player, signed to the most term. Both make sense. Frankly if they sign Trouba to a reasonable deal, they can even name Stu captain for all I care.
  15. ...well, we'll find out tomorrow according to Fox Sports. The article also mentions Laine and Meyers as possibly being in the running for the C too - so take the source for what it is. http://www.foxsports.com/nhl/story/winnipeg-jets-naming-captain-tomorrow-083016
  16. Glad that post started the way it did, saved you a bit of face. I'm not going to defend Lawless 'cuz he certainly has deserved criticism in the past - but not for what you suggest. He's an Ontaria guy, for one. So, no not a pegger. And whether it's true or not, he's always talked about how a big part of his job is not being a fan & not cheering for any team. Would he rather see us win and be playing well....playoffs etc. Well, sure. Makes his job more fun. But lumping him in to the Rod Pedersen level of journalism is unfair & unfounded. If anything, he pumps the tires of people in the organization. Always been a Walters fan, always been an Osh guy etc. Really the whole notion that ANY sports media in and around Wpg have been pumping this team's tires of late - like last few yrs, not 4 gm W streak - is laughable. People from outside of Wpg actually believe the Bombers have had respect around here since the Mack days?!?! Debatable.
  17. The highlight of my favourite Banjo Bowl. 31-2 if I'm not mistaken.
  18. Give me Harris for rushing TD #5 this season and the Bombers for win #6.
  19. Beat me to it.... I was consulting Google before posting
  20. Therein lies my issue. Not so much with Pedersen himself, I'm beyond over his shtick at this point. But the other media and the league itself promoting him. That's bush league! I've told H&L before that it's an auto dial change for me when Rod hits the Wpg airwaves, they haven't gotten the message yet.
  21. I don't really dislike any of the 1290 crew - but now I know you're joking! ...unless by best man, you mean best man to give a lecture on pepperoni and mustard sandwiches from the Maritimes.
  22. Andrew Harris
  23. Not sure what's better the tweet or the Rider fans crying in response.
