Does a blow out at home Thursday get MOS fired?
Jimmy Pop replied to White Out's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I hope they can turn this thing around and start getting W's - then the question will be moot. Barring that, I hope we at least wait until Labour Day to assess and possibly make changes. I'm no fan of coaching/GM changes mid-season, but if the record doesn't improve, do we have a choice? -

We're here because that's where you steered the thread. For someone so sick of it, you oddly bring it up when it's not even an issue. This isn't "PC garbage" like acceptable language towards gays, women and minorities. This is well documented, repeated, spousal abuse. On multiple women. It's not about political correctness, it's being about being a decent f*cking human being and not beating your wife. And no one, at least as far as I can tell, is diminishing at all what Hull's on ice accomplishments are - they're asking, legitimately so IMO, what if any of the person's character should be brought up when honouring them as heroes. How that's not worth even honestly discussing, is beyond me. Some are able to. "No I don't think a person's character should come into play" or "You're honouring the person, who they are as a person matters". Fine points, good debate. It's the name calling, insults etc that are childish and offer nothing to the conversation. Don't want to have the conversation? Fine, don't. No one will care! It's the thinking that you're contributing, when offering nothing but insults, that grows tiresome. - signed, Ignorant Idiot 1897324. -

Feels like forever since the home opener! Can't wait to get back to IGF tonight - and hopefully not be there for 6 hrs like June 24. Here's hoping the rain holds off & the fans show in big numbers. Either way, we'll make the place noisy for Edm's O. I want to see our D come out aggressive as we did against Hammy. We need pressure up front or Reilly will pick apart our rooks in the secondary. On offence - after last week's much-more-complete effort, my expectations have risen quite a bit. Foolish? Perhaps. But the play calling seems good, the weapons are there. All up to Drew, IMO. Could this be the start of a big turnaround at home? Start making this a difficult place to play, and not a free space on the bingo card? So long as they don't mess with the anthem

Exactly. Main reason I shake my head when fans say "Trouba wants this" or "Trouba's demanding that". It's the agents! It's them doing their job and trying to put the very best offer in front of their client. For most, I would think, best = most money / term. Market for player's similar to Trouba + Jets in control - likelihood of an offer sheet = Trouba's a Jet to open the season.
-
If Dressler is returning punts, I hope we get the benefit of blocking holding as we see fit. Ya know, like when he was with the green & white....
-
Trouba's only tweeted a few times in 2016 - I wouldn't worry about that. He may be overrated by some - but most comments I see from fans seem pretty legit: - He's not worth the $6.5/$7M supposed ask from his agent, we know this. (But is that # really the ask? Is it the final ask? - it's negotiation & media speculation, mostly. IMO) - While he may not be worth that much, how much nickle & diming do you do with a 23 yr old D whose already played 200+ games in a top 4 role? - Jets hold all the cards, and won't (or shouldn't) be rushed into a deal / decision. I still think Trouba is a Jet long-term and have faith that if he does need to be dealt, the return will be a good one.

"I have gotten a trainer. I went to the gym and I saw him and he said 'Give me a sit up,' and I said 'Oh nay, nay.' I go 'I don't do ups: sit ups, push ups, pull ups. I do downs. I will sit down, I will lay down. Give me a cheeseburger, I'll wolf that down. But no ups.""

Our D will be so lights out, we'll have plenty of returns to handle.... here's hoping. But yeah..have to wonder what their thought process is with Leggett there. Don't like that. Re: Hubbard. Maybe he's one of these cats they think needs that extra motivation, like say, not handing a starting spot to him? Wasn't he the one who took to twitter to complain about his lack of playing time? Just a thought.... certainly the way he ended the game last week, you'd figure he's starter material. -
From 6 years ago? Wow! Hadn't seen this gem before...

Bombers won last week & Riders lost. No fan here is disappointed. Here's hoping that trend continues.

Odds and Sods - Game 3 - Bombers at TigerCats
Jimmy Pop replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Riders fan in general are some of the most arrogant in all of pro sports. Which is downright astounding given their terrible franchise record, history of nearly folding, and the fact that Saskatchewan is..... Saskatchewan. It's Friday, bring on the mob. Tired of arguing with fellow Bomber fans....let's unite in something we ALL agree on: the suckyness of the Green Riders! -

Biggest surprise of the game for me was how little Simoni Lawrence's name was mentioned. I don't know if that was more us working away from him, or just an off game on his part - maybe combination of the two. But with all that TOP and yardage - only 4 tackles for SL. Leggett was a difference maker, without a doubt. Awesome to see. -
Week 3 (vs Ham...Now With Depth Chart)
Jimmy Pop replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm hopeful our D brings the same intensity on Thursday. Whether there's 20K or 30K in attendance, if the D plays well Wpg stadium is rockin'. Thought it was kind of neat that Smith's TD was RT by ESPN, Darren Rovell and some other big US outlets. -

See now that was football! Plenty to critique and much improvements to be made - but hey, a win is a win. Especially on the road. Here's hoping we get another W on Thurs. -

I'm not quite as sure. Now I haven't poured over the details very much - but are there not specified minimum limits of salary that must be met with exposed players? Depending on that number, it may be hard to reach if you're exposing ALL our lowered paid players - a la Hutch, Dano, Lowry, Coop etc. Probably much ado about nothing. Love the player, don't hate the contract. Happy to have you Matty P!
