To me the Riders look way worse than the player/agent. Sask picked the kid. Either failed to gauge his interest well, underestimated the slimyness of Hardaway or are just straight up stubborn clowns. No one's buying the market correction, for the good of the league bullcrap. I think it's better for the league to continue to up player's pay. Encourage guys to want to be in the league. He's a #1 overall for christ's sake, he's supposed to collect the league minimum? Is that what fans want from their team? I mean I'm thrifty too, Winnipegger and all, but this seems excessive. And to those who say prove it - he did, enough anyway, that's why they drafted him. JsJ is no winner, reputation takes a bit of a hit with some. But the oh so typical chest thumping from the Rider fanbase and the circle jerk their media pulled prove real losers wear green. -
So long as Vegas gets a team sooner than later, we're in okay shape. If it's delayed a year and you have to protect Ehlers too, someone impactful is getting picked up. Comrie better not be selected!

After reading some 50 pages of that thread I don't know how Suzie puts up with those bags of milk. -
Dressler for all the qualities already mentioned. O'Shea mentioned seeing him late in film room by himself this week. Professionalism. That said I think Smith has a tremendous season & leads the team in REC yds.

you're right, freak injury. But look at the style of game Perreault plays at 5'10 185 vs Scheifs' game at 6'3 210. Logic dictates of the 2, injuries will be harder for MP to avoid.

The vets I paid attention to were mostly impressive. Dressler and Smith look like they could play a game tonight, crisp routes and caught everything. Westerman dominated his counterpart on the first scrimmage play I saw. I thought Willy looked fine, though after a poor throw the couple behind thought he should be looking over his shoulder. I thought that was cute. Macho Harris seems to stick out in that defence. And not in a good way. Slowest DB to me. Ian Wild, as well as many others, seemed to be very vocal and helping direct guys where to go. I noticed Loeffler on one big pass break up. Looked like he clotheslined the rec pretty good. Didn't noticed Corney too much, but did see him chatting up guys here and there which reminded of his rookie blog where he mentioned hoping to find some fellow "meatheads". That last import REC roster spot will be interesting. Thought Davis and Veltung both looked ok - but McDuffie was my fav of the group. Hope to see him make the team. The turn out seemed on par with past years. Some big street hockey tourney going on down Chancellor Matheson today too, so lots of people.... And food trucks

Nah, enough "retired" Riders accomplishing that on their own. -
Sounds like Winnipeg's own Y2J had quite the fun night. Shout out to Mr.Irvine! He graduated from the same high school as me, albeit a few years earlier. His folks still live on the same street as far as I know.

Name recognition over talent, I suppose. Ehlers is twice the player Vanek is now. -
And a hot dog gun that shoots these into the stands!

I would just like to see a quality coach who has potential to move up the ranks. I think this organization, while doing a lot the "right" way, could still use some fresh blood and a new set of eyes. I remember when Maurice is hired, one thing he said that always stuck out to me was something to the effect of... "this is a good group/organization....headed in the right direction...whether it's me or someone else, we'll get to where we want to". Completely paraphrasing there - but the bolded I really remember, and thought, what an interesting comment on the day you're hired. The Jets, and TNSE, are always looking to the future - so I expect / hope this move reflects that.

Re: the Canucks. I found this gem on twitter yesterday and got me thinking what ours would look like all laid out. I generally think our moves are mostly logical, and fit in together within the long term plan. The Nucks though...good lord. WTH are they doing?

I think ours is a little more understanding. I once had a new one printed same day when I was leaving for a trip and made that dreadful realization that I'd lost mine. -

Probably would never sign here, but he's a guy I'd be targeting. -

Not shocking nobody is playing ball with Jimmy. Why trade for a guy you can sign as a FA later in the week, after he's released. No thanks to him here. Davis is a perfect #3 - familiar with the league & plenty of grooming to be done. Lots of room for improvement. -

Very sad news. The musical voice of Canada, for many. I'm glad I've seen them live a few times already, I'm sure that final tour will be tough to get into. -
I read this morning Scheifs was 4th in the tourney in faceoff %. Hopefully that translates to the NHL this fall.

Trolling Rider fans is so easy - but Pete Dyakowski sure makes it funny. Happy Saturday, folks. http://3downnation.com/2016/05/21/16278/ -

Every Bomber? No. Players who've made an immense impact on the team and in the community, while achieving excellent on-field production over the course of several seasons- certainly! obviously I don't know if you're a truthful person, I suspect you probably are. It's just fandom gets in the way, and we all, whether intentionally or not, spin things to fit our narrative. You want to stick to the "Dressler was never a #1, and I never thought so" that's totally fine! But expect folks to call BS on that, just because it's so unbelievable. Coming from a Rider fan especially, but even from any fan of another team id be spektical. -

I'm going to go out on the limb here and say if he was still a Rider, you'd have never made this comment. It just drips with so much BS my monitor turned brown. ...because, you know. It's not like 1100 yds & 7 TDs avg per season FOR SIX CONSECUTIVE SEASONS is #1 receiver quality. Christ, Rider fans wonder why they're mocked nationwide. EXHIBIT A. ^^^^^^^ -

I read this and thought, no way, NO WAY will Ripper respond with something about not caring about Dressler. Then I thought, nah, even Ripper will once and awhile be honest, forthcoming and reasonable in a post. And that kids is why you don't hold out hope for society. Think the worst and you won't be disappointed. -
This may well be a re-post...can never remember where I first see these things. http://theleafsnation.com/2016/5/9/2016-nhl-entry-draft-consensus-rankings-may-9-2015
