Seemed to be a pretty steady lineup for jersey preorders at fan fest today. The freebies make up for the delay well, imo. I scored myself a nice Westerman jersey tee & hat. That and free hot dogs make it a dream afternoon

Am I missing something? We DO have blue pants, no? The mock ups @Jpan85 posted on page 10 are straight from the team aren't they. I figured the same pants being worn by both players yesterday was just a hiccup relating to the Addidas manufacturing issues. Or is what Dressler/Legget wore going to be our standard get up this season?

The thing about TSN is at least they cover the league! Dunk is a great follow, but other than him you can't find a lick of CFL coverage worth reading from Sportsnet. I agree, think someone from the league told him to slow down.

LOL at the people saying Jets and/or Oilers "missed the boat" on a trade. We can't say for sure either team made an offer, or what was proposed. Id chaulk it up to Hamonic perhaps rectifying a situation at home and/or the Isles winning a round this year. As TUP said, no big loss for the Jets. Now focus efforts on another vet D via trade or free agency.

I have high hopes for Laine and what he can produce as a rookie if for no other reason than what he's doing on the PP. He's quaterbacking a PP unit for a pretty darn good Finnish team as an 18 yr old.... The shot, the pass, the vision...wow. Give him a combo of Wheeler, Scheifele, Ehlers, Connor, Buff and watch our PP troubles become a thing of the past.

I don't get the attraction of the 4th pick. We've already got a stud coming our way at 2 - do we need another young stud FW to fight for ice time down the road? A more pressing need is Hamonic or a better RH shot D than we've currently got. 22 overall could be in play, same with Dano/Burmi/Petan/Armia in no particular order. We've got the assets, it's up to Chevy to decide if we make the big push this season or next.

U18 implies "18 and under" does it not? All that says is either not many players his age even make the tournament, or if they do, they aren't producing much.

If Maurice went to him near the end of camp and said, look this Petan kid isn't ready, get me another veteran - I have a hard time believing we wouldn't have brought someone in. Agree completely with the sentiment though, just wonder who should shoulder more of the blame. I look at Tampa doing as well as they are now even without future Leafs HOF Stamkos. How long did Johnson, Kucherov, Palat and others spend in the AHL? That should be our model. The Moose should be a fun group next year with all the youngsters in the org.

With an extra first rounder and the plethora of young FW prospects we have, I'm hoping Chevy works the phones something fierce between now and the draft. Just like trade deadline I think the Jets could have as much in play as any other team. Don't sell the farm...but do what you can to acquire a RH shot D and make the top 6 better. One of Matthews/Laine/Jesse P does speed up the development of the team, drastically. Count me in the group that thinks were closer to a perennial playoff team than not - with the right management, that could start next season.
