  1. Or lack thereof, apparently.
  2. Evidently you only need to play half the season to qualify for rookie of the year.
  3. At least one scout from the Leafs sounds like he could push for Laine ahead of Matthews at #1. http://theleafsnation.com/2016/5/2/could-the-leafs-really-end-up-with-laine-ahead-of-matthews
  4. If there's one skill all players this day and age need, it's good skating ability. Stuart doesn't have it, probably never did. He's slowing down as the league is as quick as it's ever been. Can't wait for training camp to see how he handles (or doesn't) our speedy wingers.
  5. My thoughts exactly. Though I'd go a step farther - Morrissey should start over Stuart. We know who Stu is and what he brings. Even if he's the better dman now (hope not) you start Morrissey 'cuz he potentially makes us better, and soon. Stuart doesn't make this team any better and is beyond being easily replaceable.
  6. Wow, just wow. Huge day for the Jets. Laine (if it is him) is by all accounts a top 6 FW for us next season. The franchise makeup changed dramatically.
  7. Huge accomplishment for Oneymata to go in the 4th to the Saints. They traded up for him and my Packers were about to take him, too. Fam down there is pretty excited for the Canadian connection - I've been talking him up pretty good.
  8. Put both in Vegas. With Trump getting the presidency soon, Evander Kane and Johnny Manziel on Vegas teams may just be enough to put that apocalypse into full swing.
  9. I listened to 1290 when they were playing Ladd's comments and taking offense to them. Seemed like overreacting to me... "oh Ladd's words have changed so much....did he not want to be here all along....why did he lie to us?" Well, of course he's talking a different tune now. He's a Blackhawk until free agency opens. He's not a Jet now, so why would he be talking like he was one still? I don't take issue with him saying a discount is worth it if you're on a winner. Hell, I'd take a grand or two less to work for a better company with nicer working conditions over a crappy employer any day. Now the whole..."it's not about the money" line from Ladd: just unnecessary. Money always matters.
  10. Yeah the more I thought about it....*gasp* he better not turn into another Roddy P.... (The latest there, of course, is that Pedersen is taking issue with Mike Reilly taking issue with Rod's predictions of Riders 1st in West and Eskies 4th. I'm thinking he was hoping players league-wide would simply revel in his insightful, and of course unbiased, predictions)
  11. Big score for the Bombers, bigger loss for the Free Press. Ed's Bomber coverage in the paper was probably one of the biggest reasons I followed them as close as I have growing up. Takes me back to the days of getting the paper delivered at home & reading the sports (only, mostly) every day before school.
  12. Isles coach Capuano out of the game after taking a puck to the beak. Who says this sport isn't though?
  13. Hey, at least we still have Bowie.
  14. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/2016-nhl-draft-lottery-odds-simulator-auston-matthews-maple-leafs-oilers-toronto-april-30/
  15. I can wait for the draft, it's the lottery that I can't wait for. Guessing who we may pick, without even knowing our spot, is getting pretty tiresome.
  16. Beat me to it. Was thinking the same thing.
  17. If sources mean anything... Here's hoping.
  18. Too bad about Poolman. I'm sure it'll be okay for his development in the long run, but it sure would be nice to have some fresh blood back there. Our bottom pairing guys and all the Moose D not named Morrissey seem like a bunch of 'meh' to be me.
  19. Ha! Was literally just thinking this... Not sure if feasible, but it would make sense. Vincent was a head coach in Jr I believe?
  20. May 12th I believe is the date of the big reveal.
  21. This is just the classic, "someone disagrees with me, so let's exaggerate what the topic was in the first place". What's interesting about this is that throughout the thread you're the one pushing an agenda. Are you really saying >insert posters name< thinks the Bombers are destined for 14-4 and a GC win?! 'Cuz I'm on here daily and see very few folks like that. IMHO, very few regular posters here are the "love the Bombers at all costs, and ignoring their faults" type of fans. Frankly, more so than the "positrons" this place has the negative nelly's who like to have their opinions heard, regardless of how accurate, relevant or fact-based they are. And maybe that's a primary function of a forum. Argue away, let your voice be heard for the sake of it being heard. Just please, do us ALL a favour and skip the comments like the above. You're no more "normal fan" than the rest of us here. The only "magic" that was relevant in your post was that I remember how to use the ignore feature...and *poof* magically your posts will disappear
  22. I thought this was a good take.
  23. Welcome to 2016: Still Trying to Defend Bigoted Words like it's 1990!
  24. I like Enstrom for what he is. A very solid top 4 who can move the puck exceptionally well and skate. Downside of course is the complete lack of physicality, as opponents can often outmuscle him on the boards. On the Jets, he matters more than some other places because he's our top left hand shot and carries a decent cap hit. I've always thought he'd be better suited to play out east. Imagine him and Letang together in Pitt? He needs a team (system) that plays a speed game, and one that doesn't have STL, MIN, CHI and NSH in their division.
