Whoa - someone believes in us! http://www.cfl.ca/2015/12/31/nye-10-bold-predictions-for-2016/

The bolded part, I've now heard from 3 different people.... for whatever that's worth. EDIT: and confirmed from a simple LinkedIn search. I wonder if he'll accept my add!

Game 34 : Atlanta v2 @ Atlanta v1
Jimmy Pop replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
...yeah, but it's raining. Pffffft. -
Continuing the devil's advocate theme here, my only response would be: how the hell do you know when the "right" time is? If now isn't the time (agree with you) then how far away are we? Not expecting an answer from fans, but management better sure as **** have a good idea. Again, point being is we've won 0 playoff games in 4 seasons - looks like it'll be 5 seasons. And if we're only asking for prospects and picks in potential Ladd/Buff trades, than we're probably into season 6 or 7 before we're a "contender". Maybe it's just me, but I'm still not convinced a long term deal (even with bum years at the end) is worse than losing core players for unproven commodities. We fans get so consumed with the 4th, 5th or 6th year of Ladd/Byfuglien's contract....shoot, I just don't want us in the bottom 5 in the league for the each of the next 3 years.

Off topic, but do you have an iPhone? If so, you can simply bypass the paywall and read anything you want on mobile.

Game 34 : Atlanta v2 @ Atlanta v1
Jimmy Pop replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Hahaha. That was my first thought immediately after I posted. Well hey, I firmly believe the quickest way to Quebec getting a team back is giving Atlanta one first. -
It's been the question since day 1, really. We knew we had to develop a stronger, deeper prospect pool and we have. When is the right time to "go for it" with your established veterans? I'm not in anyway saying we're there yet, and we should go all in, but... When is the time? If we did what you're proposing, we'd be cellar-dwellers this year and next. Playoffs once in 6 seasons. Sure, our prospect pool would be even stronger - but so what? What good does a great prospect pool and a Hockey News proclamation that you're the 2019 Cup Champs do.....if we're not even making the playoffs consistently.

Re: Okposo. I'm guessing some watch him play far more than I. Other than seeing his stats, I don't know much about the player. It's interesting how many fans want ______ here instead of Ladd or how ______ would be a better fit than Byfuglien. Fans are often criticized for watching their own team too much and overvaluing players - but seems to me the opposite is true as well. I believe there's 29 fanbases that would love a player like Ladd.

One day in the fall of 2036, the Flames and Jets will meet and no one will reference Atlanta. -
Chrome. I'd suspect my work network/settings, only I never had any trouble pre-upgrade.

Thanks for all the hard work, Rich - site keeps getting better! Has anyone else noticed they're required to use login credentials every time now? I've opened up MBB 3 or 4 times at work today (that busy here) and have had to login each time, despite checking "remember me".

It's funny because I don't recall ever hearing such angst from Jets fans who never (really) hear from Huddy, Vincent or Flaherty. It's not as if our defensive play, special teams and goaltending haven't each been questioned recently. So, what's the difference?

Around The League Off Season Discussion
Jimmy Pop replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm not saying you're wrong, but there's a lot more to that Esks offense than just the QBs. That whole team was a lot deeper/more talented than the Riders currently are. I have no doubt Jones is going to do some serious house-cleaning and make a ton of changes, but still....long way to go..... Sask. is going to have so many new bodies and quite a few without previous CFL experience so it will likely take their D at least half a season to jell. Best they can be this year is 8-8 imo. Went to school in Sask I'm guessing? -
Take it as a compliment.

I would assume there isn't, anymore. What with the Daley trade and all...

Around The League Off Season Discussion
Jimmy Pop replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Dear Santa, I would like 1 Saskatchewan RoughRiders season completely in the tank in 2016..... Sincerely, Noeller Sorry Noeller, even though for the most part you have been a pretty good boy this year, I will not be able to grant your wish this year. But as a gift that can still be enjoyed you are getting a Edmonton Eskimo season instead. - Krampus FYP. -
Jets assign Adam Lowry to the Moose

It's snowing again today. I've lost faith that Wpg will ever see nice weather. -
Geez, you'd think we just had Chuck Diesel the last few years the way some talk about Andrew Harris. The guy accomplished more last year than our current RBs will ever accomplish in the league. One would think he'd be motivated after the way last year went. I'd also imagine playing in his hometown would be a motivation boost. Get him here. Yesterday.

Why not?

Pointless article of the day
Jimmy Pop replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
This part made zero sense to me, too. The Dallas "Stars" are just as much a corporation. Look, if there was some history of TNSE or hockey fans or Winnipeggers in general being disrespectful - then sure, maybe something to it. Fact is, I think we're the opposite. The organization has done "Military Nights" for many years. They've donated large sums of money before. They're whole freakin' name & identity is a sign of appreciation AND one the Air Force endorsed, with Chipman and co. -
The answer to your question will come in the form of your posts on this site right before the game, during the game and after the game. If you do try this out let us know so we can all get our popcorn and watch (in this case read) the show :-). Haha, will certainly try and keep you boys posted. I've already forewarned the coworkers...luckily we're mostly alcoholics here anyway

Biggest question for tomorrow's game: How loaded will I be after the game, I have a work Xmas party to get to!

I stopped reading right after 'thinks' :-) Ha! I quit reading one word earlier.

Thanks, I needed a pick me up today.

When do the Jets play next? I'm thinking a press conference is coming any day now to announce a new deal for the captain.
