  1. Now that Chiarelli is on board in Edm, I fully expect to see one of their prized FWs moved. It just makes way too much sense...
  2. Home ice needs to be home ice tonight. We need that extra big hit, clutch save, PP goal... slight edge in all the key areas, and we'll be alright. Both teams will feed off the energy, we need to stay disciplined. Hopefully the crowd can rattle Anderson... a softy or 2 could be huge. Other than that, best players have to be our best players... Need a monster game from Buff, a responsible game from Ladd and SOME kind of offense from Little, Wheeler or Sheifs. Our backs are against the wall...and so far this season, that's been a good thing... 3-2 Jets, with a big primary assist to the 15,016 clad in white.
  3. Jersey: On Coffee: x 2 Work: Secondary Coworkers: Fired up White: Out Go: Jets GO!
  4. Firstly, I don't believe injury severity/status should impact supplemental discipline. For every case where you can say, "well that guy's out 2 months, now throw the book at him!" there's just as many cheap/stupid/selfish plays that DON'T result in injury, and therefore aren't punished adequately. Regardless of your stance on ^^^, the bigger issue is simply as wildly inconsistent the league is when it comes to penalties in the game and their resulting discipline, if any. How does Carcillo get away with 2 min minor in a REGULAR season game for the Perreault crosscheck when Subban's results in a game misconduct? This league has different interpretations of the rulebook depending on the crew calling the game. This league makes calls differently in October, January and April. This league has zero grasp of how to properly and fairly issue punishment...and lastly, there certainly seems to be different ways of calling penalties/suspensions if star players/big market teams are involved. Best sport, worst league.
  5. ANA in 7 STL in 6 CHI in 6 CGY in 7 MTL in 5 TB in 5 NYR in 7 WASH in 6 I've got CHI vs WASH in the finals. Here's hoping praying I'm wrong about at least one of those 1st rounders...
  6. Over/under on tickets being sold out has to be 2 mins (tops). I logged in at 10:00:00, nothing, refreshed, nothing, refreshed, nothing... Reminds me how lucky I was in the summer of 2011...
  7. I don't think it's a Sportsnet decision, I think it's a league decision re: start times. S'all about TV numbers. Think of it this way, even if the game's were on at 2am central you'd have a huge Wpg audience. But a 5pm ANA start for the games in Wpg.... that would be brutal. This way, they're watching games 3/4 at 6 and 6:30... little more reasonable.
  8. Really too bad we're saddled with Sportsnet's crew in the playoffs. I wonder if Damien Cox will even leave toronto to cover the series? I think we should induate his inbox with specific Jets questions... See the comedic responses.
  9. Wpg's whiteout was absolutely a response to Cgy's "C of Red". Surprising to hear so many suggest otherwise, as it's pretty widely publicized.
  10. Or we play ANA and get CGY one round earier in the West semi's.
  11. Whiteout. /thread
  12. Yep, one of the top 40 teams in the world, no doubt.
  13. Nice piece on Reaves; some the trauma he's faced & life growing up in Wpg! As an aside, Phil Hairat was a classmate of mine in High School. RIP Philly! http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/12629038/nhl-st-louis-blues-ryan-reaves-honors-fallen-friends-tattoos-hockey
  14. Neither the CGY or LA game will be decided by less than 4 goals. These will be laughers... Book it. (I hope I'm snacking in crow tomorrow morning!)
  15. 77th "must win" game of the season tonight...
  16. Great result! Jets playoff odds would have dropped with a Flames win, as it stands our chances improved pretty significantly.
  17. It's what happens after the faceoffs that can be an issue. At times Slater shows why he should stay on the 4th line. And at other times, you wonder why there's no one better to play the 4th line... Look, winning FO's is nice, but you need to do more than that to hold down a job on a deep team.
  18. Interesting to note that Coop signing now eats up the first year of his ELC. A little surprising no? Unless they want him playing now...why not wait til the offseason and have next year be his first?

  20. OLE OLE OLE OLE BUFF IS BACK.... OLE OLE OLE F*CK THE HABS!.... OLE OLE GO JETS GO! (Sorry, headed to MTSC tonight... little excited already)
  21. Jets played solid for 30 mins, fell asleep for 10, with the last 20 being a snoozefest. Regroup, get home and move on... Methinks that L puts a little more emphasis on Little/Buff's recoveries... we need them back. Now.
  22. The Jets have been anything but predictable this season. Tough games, sure. Maybe they win 1/3, maybe they take 5/6 points.... neither would surprise me.
  23. I'd much rather see Perreault play the wing. Lowry has all the makings of a prototypical 3rd line centre for years and years...
  24. Dale's pretty much on the staff already, what with all those kids we're drafting from Barrie Someone mentioned Dale's kid so I looked him up. Just turned 17, plays for...wait for it...wait for it...Barrie. Wonder if he has a shot at making it (drafted 6th round by Barrie if I recall). With their 3rd pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft the Winnipeg Jets select....
