Chad Simpson was extremely overrated.
-
We all knew that Canadian depth and the O-line were a work in progress and was at least a two or three year job. It's the lack of American depth that is particularly troubling to me.
-
Collaros and his slow release would get completely dismantled behind our line.
-
A team desperate for a back like Hamilton might take a flier on him.
-
I'm not sure Greaves is untouchable and that's despite our O-line being absolutely horrific. He hasn't progressed the way you would've hoped with Wylie as our OL coach. If we had an even somewhat decent line I think a guy like Greaves would be on the chopping block.

These are the guys from our current roster I'd want on our team next year in an ideal world. QB - Drew Willy, Robert Marve RB - Carl Volny, Carl Fitzgerald, Pontibrand WR/SB - Nick Moore, Clarence Denmark, Rory Kohlert, JFG, Brett Carter OL - Matthias Goossen, Steve Morley,Patty Neufeld, Chris Greaves, Gord Hinse DB - Chris Randle, Bruce Johnson, Johnny Sears, Maurice Leggett, Demond Washington, Matt Bucknor, Troy Stoudemire Donovan Alexander LB - Ian Wild, Desia Dunn, Teague Sherman(as a backup), Graig Newman, Derek Jones, Jesse Briggs DL - Bryant Turner, Zach Anderson, Jake Thomas, Jason Vega, Marvin Booker, Ryan Lucas. K - Lirim obviously. It may seem like a lot of guys, but with a lot of them being Canadian depth players it shows that we have a ton of holes. Every single import O-linemen we've played this year has been terrible. That spot needs to be upgraded in the worst way.

I find it interesting that he also re-tweeted this tweet at one point... Scott Linklater @at_the_links · Oct 13 @Nic_Grigsby5 u have nothing but class, #Bombers need more people like u and zero like @EJKUALE

This is a surprising one in my books, but this season is a lost cause and I didn't want Grigsby as our starter next year anyways so I don't have an issue with it.

We should hire Joe Mack as a scout.

Wow the Ticats really blew it. It's always nice to see Kent Austin lose.

Realistic Changes for Next Year

It was an under the radar, very good signing. Graig Newman was thought of very highly by the Riders organization and was expected to start for them with the loss of Craig Butler. Newman wasn't a "sexy big splash" signing that's gets all the press, but was a very, very good move by Walters. Newman would have started for us this season. I'm not saying that it wasn't a good signing and I agree that Newman would start over Teague. But, he's a no name backup Canadian who wasn't going to start for the Riders even with Butler leaving. To say that he's a big name signing in the same stratosphere of Nick Moore is ridiculous. Wrong. Word out of Riderville is that Newman was going to start with Butler leaving. I agree Newman didn't have the "sexy" big name appeal like Nick Moore, but his impact/role with the team was expected to be significant. Nope Newman himself said that playing time was the main reason he choose to come to Winnipeg instead of staying in Sask. I doubt he leaves the Riders with all things being equal. Take a look at this article and quote from Newman http://www2.canada.com/reginaleaderpost/news/sports/story.html?id=34fe656b-7e7d-4ad1-9b4a-5edf1fa6b538 ''I think the Riders saw me as a special teams player whereas I saw myself as a defensive player''. -

How on earth was signing a backup Canadian player like Graig Newman a ''big signing''? -
They both suck but I agree that Kelly is better.
-
Did you mean Joe West or Jeff Fuller? It seems that Fuller, West and Price are all regularly out of the lineup.
-
If someone offers us a third rounder for Watson take the deal and run.
-
Having Wild and Moore back is huge. I can't believe we'd even entertain the idea of playing Kuale, injured or not.
-
Kane, Scheifele and Wheeler is a great line.

I would be perfectly fine with that. I never want to hear ridiculous things like Ted Laurent and Alex Hall would be useless here because they don't fit the Etcheverry scheme. -

I'm not a big fan of Bellfool, but for everyone suggesting we fire him, who do we replace him with? And do we really want Drew Willy in a new system in year two? -
Why would they need Joseph when they have a stud like Sunseri?

None of Aaron Kelly, Greg Peach, Kuale, Romby Bryant, Nic Grigsby, and all of our current import O-linemen should be starters or even on the team. Which is coincidentally very similar to my wish list after free agency.
