  1. Well that messes up my lock of the week pick. Who starts in his place?
  2. rightly so. You don't need 10 wins to make the playoffs, you need to win the right games. Being 1-5 against the west division thus far certainly doesn't get you into a playoff position. That doesn't make any sense considering that we're on track to miss the playoffs at 9-9. Less wins against the East and more against the West and maybe 9-9 would get you in. 9-9 is still 9-9 no matter what way you slice it. No Western team was finishing with under ten wins(aside from maybe us)and that is especially true at this point in the season. Not only that, but its completely unrealistic to think we'd be winning less games against the East and more games against the West. Going something along the lines of 6-2 against the East and 4-6 against the West would be a reasonable figure to make it in. 1-5 against your division rivals just doesn't cut it though.
  3. But if we increase the usage would their production go down? I'm fine with the way both of them are being used.

  5. I remember getting laughed at earlier in the season when I suggested that we needed a minimum of ten wins to make the playoffs.
  6. No its a fantastic idea, especially given our ratio problems and one that many of us here have suggested time and time again.
  7. Dunn/Kuale/Sherman is easily the worst linebacker core in the league.
  8. Romby Bryant heading to the bench is an improvement by default.
  9. You don't like football discussion between rivals? Relax it's all in fun. I think people just liked it better when this was the place to go for intelligent football discussion. Suddenly Shankman doesn't seem so bad.... Is this the official start of the ''recruit Shankman to morningbigblue'' movement?
  10. What are six games of Westerman worth? A late round draft pick?
  11. Three winnable games and we need to win at least two of them to remain in the hunt. There's absolutely no reason we should lose at home to Hamilton or on the road in Ottawa. That's with or without Drew Willy.
  12. I'd be very surprised if we ended up with 10 wins. I'd be happy with 3-3 in the last 6, with one of those wins hopefully being the game vs BC. I don't expect us to do better than 1-2 vs Edmonton and Calgary, more likely 0-3. I was thinking victories against Hamilton, Ottawa, BC and one of Calgary and Edmonton. Might be a tad optimistic but I think we can do it if Willy is good to go and I think that's what it's going to take to make the playoffs.
  13. LOL. this is so wrong on so many levels it's crazy... Kevin Glenn? Dude you are confusing what people on fan boards said. Noone in the bombers ever said Glenn was an option, they actually said the opposite, said he wasn't. You got it all backwards 1. Willy and Collaros (he came available first) 2. Willy and Burris (he only came available after the ticats signed collaros) 3. Willy Common them in all those options, Drew Willy. Stop pretending what fans on the forum wanted is what the team wanted. Kevin Glenn was never an option. Ever. Not once. Only to a few people on these fan boards. I'm not sure that the guy who is completely unaware of the Bombers inquiring about Kevin Glenn even after we had acquired Drew Willy should be telling me that I have things backwards. The Bombers were very interested in Kevin Glenn, we just weren't willing to give up Goossen to get him. In other words, we didn't want him that bad. That was after we signed Willy too so to have Glenn ahead of willy on your made up in your head list is ridiculous. Where did you see Kevin Glenn ahead of Drew Willy? You didn't because it isn't there. You're completely clueless, there was no situation in which Drew Willy and Zach Collaros could've been teammates.

  15. There isn't one. I'm still not sure why we didn't keep Jaymar Johnson. He looked better than Romby at the very least.
  16. I'd be a lot happier if we could of gotten a decent import receiver and O-linemen. We really dropped the ball in those areas.
  17. Do we really need to be attacking the Rider fans in every single thread? Quite honestly that's more annoying than the presence of the few Rider fans we have here.
  18. No doubt Ottawa has the worst receivers in the league, but Burris hasn't played well himself either. He's not entirely off the hook for the problems going on there.
  19. No. To almost all of it. No. A collection of weak and likely incorrect assumptions based on a completely flawed premise. The only weak and incorrect assumptions in this thread is ''Bombers management said the guy they signed was the number one target so obviously its true.'' Lots of stuff I said is my opinion(as I said) but there's a ton of facts in there as well. But hey, if you feel like picking through those ''weak and likely incorrect assumptions'' feel free and I'd be happy to prove you wrong.
  20. I feel like we're back in the Kevin Glenn era when our biggest concern was finding a decent backup QB. Mike Quinn, Tee Martin, Ryan Dinwiddie... boy we sure started some quality backups in those days.
  21. Willy was clearly our third option. The ''they weren't all available at the same time'' argument has no merit whatsoever when you consider the fact that we traded for Willy. If Willy was our first choice, you can bet your ass that the trade would've been made for him before Collaros & Burris were released. I don't see any scenario in which Collaros & Willy both sign with us. It's complete homer-ism(something I'd expect from the Rider fans not us to be quite honest)to think that Collaros would sign here without being guaranteed the starting job. If Burris signs here, things get a little more interesting. In that scenario, we still do pursue Willy to be our backup(the Riders didn't have enough $$$$ to sign Willy as a backup and they were comfortable with Sunseri) but, BC with Lulay on the shelf also likely pursues him. IMO, in that scenario Willy signs with BC knowing that he gets to start the first half of the season. This is just my opinion but I think our preferences for Quarterbacks were 1) Henry Burris & Drew Willy 2) Zach Collaros & Kevin Glenn 3) Henry Burris 4) Drew Willy & Kevin Glenn 5) Zach Collaros 6) Drew Willy 7) Kevin Glenn It's nice that we got the best of the three Quarterbacks, but I'd agree that we did get lucky in how things turned out. You just can't convince me that Henry Burris gets offered nearly 400K if we wanted Drew Willy as our starting QB. That doesn't add up whatsoever, we clearly wanted Burris badly. In the end, who really cares? The Bombers won big with Willy and the RedBlacks lost big with Burris. That's all that concerns me.
