  1. Starting Romby when we have such severe ratio problems is really annoying. Hell, I'd be starting JFG over Romby AND Kelly at this point.
  2. Winnipeg brings in Kevin Glenn to back up Khari Jones, Hamilton brings him in to back up Quinton Porter, Calgary brings him in to back up Drew Tate & BC brings him in to back up Travis Lulay. Somehow he ends up as the full time starter on all four teams within half a year. If there's any silver lining here, there may be some justice in the fact that Glenn gets to start in BC while Burris rots away in his last years with the dumpster fire RedBlacks.
  3. I'm a big Lulay fan, its incredibly sad to see him go out like that. I can't believe Burris is getting paid nearly 500K. It looks like his arm has finally given out on him.
  4. This was odd. The Ottawa writer was completely out to lunch not even knowing what position players played. Chris Van Zeyl at guard instead of tackle. Charleston Hughes at DT not D-end Leggett at HB over Safety. I don't know how you can get Hughes mixed up. Van Zeyl played guard a lot last year, okay. Moved back to tackle though. The media and the majority fans don't know Jack about the O-line so I'll let that one slide. The Hughes and Leggett stuff is inexcusable though.
  5. Sears is someone who needs to be in the lineup if he's he's healthy enough to play.
  6. It might be hilarious if Watson wasn't an injury prone player who is usually a good bet to get hurt every few games.
  7. No, that is very unlikely. Probably should not be necessary either. We have a PR with guys on it. Give one a chance. Moore isn't out for the season, in the meantime we might discover our next great receiver. And if it involves any kind of pick it's probably a bad idea, big picture-wise. Almost every need for this team to take the next step is a need involving a NI player/position. But hey, if they want to take Kuale for one of those guys, thumbs up. Aaron Kelly is a replacement level player and Romby Bryant isn't even at that level. Our receiving core is extremely shallow without Nick Moore in the lineup. For a team with a below average running game and competing for a playoff spot, we have to do better than Kelly & Romby for two of our three import receiver spots. I'm not suggesting selling the farm for anyone, but if someone like Green or even London can be acquired for a reasonable price I'd consider pulling the trigger.
  8. With Matthews no longer a possibility, do we make a move to trade for an established CFL vet? Maybe try to pry Green, Carter or even Brandon London out of Montreal?
  9. Unless you're a Weston Dressler or Chris Matthews type player you almost always start off on the PR.
  10. Didn't Braley nix the sale to MLSE or something?
  11. Seems doubtful at this point. Most teams are set right now. The question is, how long will Matthews wait before coming back to the CFL?
  12. If we elect to keep ham n eggers like Kelly and Romby over Matthews we should probably just bring back Tim Burke. Luckily, Walters likes Matthews and I don't anticipate much of a problem bringing him back unless Ottawa throws crazy money at him.
  13. Seen this coming when Bryan Walters was brought back into the fold. Sucks for Matthews but potentially great for the Bombers. Having him back in the fold for the BC game would be great, hell if he can get into Winnipeg by noon Sunday I'd take him fresh off a plane over Romby. Assuming he re-signs with us of course.
  14. Bryant certainly not the long-term answer to our receiving problem but he's the best journeyman we have right now and still might be capable of delivering a solid outing if Willy drills the ball into his facemask. Moore seemed to get open a lot but his ball-handling abilities are highly suspect. Romby also drops the odd one when he tracks back after gaining 1st down yardage and tries to turn an 11 yd gain into an 8 yd gain. At least Watson, Guardino, Denmark, etc. seem to know how to fall forward and maximize gains. Romby and Moore (particularly Romby) have developed nasty habits of thinking their 4.8 speed legs can out run 4.6 and 4.7 guys with the advantage of closing angles! Moore has like 2 fumbles all season, 1 we recovered, Why no mention of all the big catches he's made? He fumbled again deep in Rider territory last week. Not to mention he's lost at least two fumbles deep in enemy territory immediately after turnovers at home. There's no question that Moore needs to protect the ball better.
  15. For all the criticism he's getting, we don't even know if we have a back up QB who's better than Elliot.
  16. Regarding Matthews he's not out of the woods yet. The Seahawks made the move to bring back Bryan Walters to return kicks which means they cut Phil Bates who could conceivably take Matthews spot on the PR.
  17. Man having Matthews come back would of been nice. This is going to be a tough one without Moore and Wild but we really can't afford to lose.
  18. If we lose Moore and Neufeld still not good to go... I hope they start Feoli-Gudino instead of Bryant to at least give us some ratio flexibility. That will enable us to add Cotton as the 2nd Imp RB or perhaps Bolton. I agree completely. I think the roster spot could be used a little more efficiently than adding Cotton to the roster, but there's no reason for Bryant to play over JFG.
  19. Got quite the hill to climb to stay alive... Sticking with Cornish.
  20. Was there any update on Nick Moore? Losing him as well as Wild would be extremely bad.
  21. I'm not personally familiar with Gibson, but we have a weakness on the Dline, the Argos have a weakness in the secondary plus Suber gets a chance to get on the field. Seems like a win for all involved.
  22. Would he even be an upgrade over Hinse or Swiston? Doubtful.
  23. I guess we know why Ottawa signed Elliot and not Hall.
  24. If the Bombers would have gone for it and got stuffed people would be screaming for his head. It was a full yard which is far from a gimme. I prefer to play to win rather than not to lose.
  25. I was just thinking last night that I can't fathom Brink still being employed while Elliot isn't. Maybe we'll see him start a few games this year.
