  1. Gott is someone who's always injured or hurt at least. Similar to Watson in that aspect actually.
  2. I'm not sure how or why Kelly became the poster boy for bad receivers. He's not a great player, and I wouldn't want him as an every week starter but as an injury replacement he's fine.
  3. The game is still a week away. Let's have this re-visit this topic next Wednesday.
  4. Hmmm.... Wonder if anyone has called Messam a steal other than you? (I'd guess no one, but I'm not about to go through 7 pages of comments to find out) I wonder if any team has worse NI depth than the Bombers? Yes Ottawa and Edmonton do. Next question?
  5. With all the Chris Garrett talk I wonder if we consider bringing him in due to our running back injuries. He hasn't been the same since his injury, but he didn't look bad when he was with the Riders last year. He'd probably be an improvement over Grigsby and Ford for whatever that's worth.
  6. Why? Kohlert is a good receiver.
  7. I remember people saying this when Blow Dorzon was our starter for the first month of 2012...
  8. Honestly I'm not loving any of the teams in the West aside from Calgary and even they have a question mark at QB. Can Tate stay healthy and how will BLM do as an 18 game starter? Has BC improved ANYWHERE at all? How will Sask deal with losing a few of their top players? Can the Bombers & Esks close the gap despite having horrid NI's? Honestly this is serious guess work at this point, because in my mind Calgary, BC, Sask and Montreal are all worse teams than last year while Hamilton, Winnipeg & Edmonton should be improved with Toronto staying stagnant. Calgary 12-6 BC 10-8 Sask 10-8 Bombers 6-12 Edmonton 6-12 Hamilton 13-5 Toronto 11-7 Montreal 7-11 Ottawa 6-12
  9. Messam is a headcase and frankly worth more trouble than he's worth.
  10. This isn't a surprise. He's easily and obviously the best running back we have.
  11. If Maher doesn't get picked up somewhere else we should at least keep him around on the taxi squad.
  12. White went to camp with the Redskins last year and played in the majority if not all of their pre season games. Rust shouldn't be used as an excuse for a guy who has struggled everywhere he's went in professional football because he lacks the fundamentals to play his position and only has a job due to his athletic abilities.
  13. Maybe it's just me but Chris Greaves seemed to really struggle in the first half among the regular starters offensively.
  14. I see our team this year being similar to the 2005 Bombers. A good QB with an offense that can score points but a defense so atrocious you have to score 50 points to win. Now, I don't see us being as bad defensively as the team that employed Marcus & Marcel Smith but I do feel like that's the sort of season we'll have.
  15. I agree with just about everything you said aside from I'm not sure that they'll outright cut Max Hall yet and that cutting Howard should be a no brainer over Jarvis Jones. Even if Will Ford gets healthy I don't believe he overtakes Cotton for the starting job who was significantly better than Grisgby in both games.
  16. JayMar Johnson looked really good for a guy who hasn't played much football in the last couple of years, and even when he was in the NFL he was primarily a special teams player. Aside from that, I haven't really been impressed with any of the new import receivers. We actually may end up missing Wallace Miles more than anyone would've predicted. Re-signing Chris Matthews when he shakes free from Seattle would probably be perfect right about now but I suppose that's more wishful thinking than anything else.
  17. Jacory Harris was on the Edmonton roster last year wasn't he? Interesting that they would cut him in favor of Pat White.
  18. With the way he was outplayed by Brohm last night I wouldn't be surprised if Hall got his walking papers.
  19. The Wynn trade was particularly bad. We had terrible NI receivers at the time and desperately could've used Andy Fantuz.
  20. He still may be injured, I can't imagine why a guy like Poblah wouldn't see any action in the pre season. Arceneaux is hurt yet they made no mention of that.
  21. A receiving core of Matthews/Moore/Denmark/Kohlert/Watson would be impressive.
  22. Knapp is not better than Jones... no reason to have Neufeld at RT if we are playing 2 imports Jan, Greaves, Morely, Goossen or Neufeld, Jones Sure there is. Neufeld is actually a good tackle, we don't have any other Canadians can play guard, especially if Morley starts at C.
  23. Right now, I would have Wild-Newman/Kuale-Unamba penciled in That would be the better lineup no doubt. But has Ian Wild even taken reps on the outside? I also don't see any scenario in which Korey Banks isn't a starter although I wouldn't be upset if I were proven wrong. Right now we have Wild playing out of position, a struggling Banks & Dunn along with a mediocre Kuale. It'll be interesting to see what our week one lineup is but those linebacker spots scare the hell out of me.
  24. I have zero problem with a guy taking money if he needs it while in college. The money the NCAA makes off of your name is robbery.
  25. I liked Neufeld out there. In fact, I'm thinking an O-line of Jones/Greaves/Goossen/Morley(?)/Neufeld wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if we can't afford to start two import O-linemen. I've always been a big January fan, but I like Jarvis Jones a lot.
