I'm glad the ads on the scoreboard are gone. I'd still rather they get rid of the stats too, so we can view the entire screen cleanly.

Flying High into Montréal: Bombers vs. Als
Blueandgold replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'd rather see Jones play than Roc at this point, but if Loffler is out I guess our hands are tied. -
Hail Mary Jennings isn't a good QB without a guy like Burnham on the field. I can't believe Wally didn't put Lulay in, they would've won that game handidly if they did.
-
People here sure are willing to give up Dressler quickly. That's a complete non starter for me. i would give up Denny though if we have the ability to get a guy like Walker or Matthews.

"Reading on RF" was the point where I knew I'd see no factual information.
-
He makes terrible plays on the ball half the time, and the other half he just gets flat out beat. This experiment has gone on long enough, we're halfway through the season and this weak link needs to be off field. He doesn't have the advantage of a Canadian passport like Hurl does.
-
I'd prefer if they sat Lankford, but as much as I love him, I could see us sitting Denny as well. Even in a DI role, I think Flanders is more valuable than either one of them.

3 stars plus HH broken esks streak edition

Langford should come out of the lineup but I can't see that happening, -
Man he was great tonight. It's amazing to see him have so much success without Dressler. Don't get me wrong, Harris and Adams are nice weapons while Thorpe is a nicer player as well. With that being said, hardly anyone would say the Bombers have among the most dangerous skill position players in the league.

Carmichael is trash. How many more chances is he going to get? He's easily the worst import on our team.
-
We're 5-2 and a really good team. I've been really impressed by Nichold this year. But, our two losses were due to Nichols self destructing. He, although to be fair, along with the rest of the O played horrible in the second half against Calgary and then in the 4th against BC. It would be nice to see us go out there and beat one of the contenders instead of just beating up on the East +Riders.

I didn't vote last week? Could've sworn I did and got two of the four games right. Oh well.

Odds and Sods - Blue Bombers at Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Blueandgold replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Why should we not be considered to be on the same tier as the rest of the West? We were basically equal to BC last year, and we seem to be equal to them again this year. Edmonton & Calgary do appear to be a tad better at this point, but it's a long season. Really, aside from one more impactful receiver and a good linebacker to replace Wild I don't see many needs on this team as long as we can stay relatively healthy. -
Honestly, I love Westerman and the big plays he makes but he also makes so many bone headed penalities he can be hard to put up with. Fortunately, he's a Canadian at least.

They legitimately think they're going to sweep us. In what freaking world? -
BLM is a great player but he hasn't been on Reilly's level. He's been about equal to, or slightly better than Nichols in 2017.

Dominating victory. Even though we settled for way too many field goals we still dominated them. -
Even if people want to discount Burris, I'd say in 2003 Calvillo, Ray and Dickenson were all elite and guys like Jones and Maas were still good as well.
-
I'm terrified of this being a trap game. Bombers will have to be at their best to pull this one out.
-
The best part is, all the Jone defenders criticized the 2015 Riders to no end. Insulting Glenn relentlessly and saying it wasn't worth it to lose with a QB like that. Now, two years later they're starting an even WORSE version of the same Glenn and have a roster that's very bare bones much like 2015. The meltdown on that board when Jones gets fired after this year is going to be priceless.

I didn't think it was that bad of a game actually, not great football, but entertaining for what it is. Argos should've started Fajardo to begin with. He may not be able to throw, but he can at least run. That's more than I can say about Jeff Matthews.
-
Keeping the Bombers in the East would've definitely been the better option.

Montreal has sparse crowds themselves and Ottawa has bailed on the CFL twice. The risk is too great for the CFL to go that route.
-
He's had some big games, there's no doubt about it. The comeback against Montreal was a thing of beauty. But, we've also had the second half against Calgary and the fourth Quarter against BC when he was downright awful. He's slightly above the Darian Durant, Trevor Harris and Zach Collaros level IMO, but he's also slightly below the Mike Reilly & BLM(although he hasn't been overly impressive this year) level.

Let's not forget that Johnson has been everyone's favorite whipping boy the last few years, myself included. Even saying that, I would've preferred to keep him around. I don't want to be in a situation where we're starting the Roc at halfback again.
