Odds and Sods - Montreal Als at Blue Bombers
Blueandgold replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
His punting was horrid against BC, and mediocre against Toronto. But, last night he was phoenominal in that regard. -
41-40, (42-43), 33-25, 43-40 What's going on?

Oh I don't disagree with any of that at all, but a part of that is definitely Hall's soft zone D. All I was saying is that at least Walker has a few reeedmable qualities and did something's to get excited about. Not what I'd say about the Roc at all. -
Yup. I understand doing a few for fan engagement purposes, but they're absolutely brutal to listen to.

I'll just say that even though he struggled abit, it was really impressive what Matt Nichols was able to do without one of his few, and possibly biggest playmaker, Weston Dressler. Nichols Harris Jeffcoat

Leggett, Wild and Bruce are big injuries, there's no doubt about that. But, our linebackers and secondary are just getting absolutely shredded game in and game out. Something needs to change there. It's nice seeing that a guy like Walker will go out there and hit hard at least. -
I thought his elbow was down right before he goal line, but you can't overturn that call. At the end of the day, Montreal never should've put themselves in that position.

Looking Ahead: Montreal Vs Winnipeg

Great and better than Carmichael are two different things. At least they moved Carmichael to field corner tonight. -

What I'm saying is quite simple, that you should play the better player. When a player is struggling and costing the team games he should no longer be in the lineup. I actually said very little about anyone prior to the season as I wasn't posting very much, and I have no problem with them giving Carmichael a shot. But, now he's been horrible and was repeatedly burned by Marco Iannuzzi last week to go along with his struggles in every other game to begin the year. Start Kevin Fogg, plain and simple. -

Like Carmichael right? Good players are good players and bad players are bad. I don't care if they're veterans like Kuale and Peach or a rookie like the Roc. -
The newer stadiums are definitely being overbuilt. It's nice to create some urgency to go out there and get a ticket.

As far as players who've continousally started go, I'd have Kuale right up there with Marcus and Marcel Smith from the 2005 Bombers. -

I'll also say this, acknowledging the flaws of O'Shea and liking or disliking him aren't mutually exclusive things. I don't mind O'Shea, and I thought that once we struggled out of the gate last year and his job was on the line he really improved(aside from the god awful field goal attempt). What worries me, is that with some success and job security, he's reverting to his old ways. -

Seriously, a truly horrid player in every sense of the word. -

Kuale was the worst of the bunch, inexplicably rotating with another player(Wild?) and committing three unnecessary roughness penalties against Saskatchewan. Hes easily, and this isn't hyperbole, the worst player we've continuously started in the last 15 years or so all things considered. Not only was he a bad player, he was undisciplined and committed atrocious penalties. This isn't with the benefit of hindsight either, I can't think of many people aside from the most severe homers who had anything positive to say about him whatsoever. -

Many people, myself included, wanted Loffler to start right out of the gate. Macho Harris was a terrible player who never should've been signed. Theres many more examples, such as Romby, Hurl & Greg Peach, of O'Shea sticking with players who aren't producing. -

This is the exact same excuse we heard when Kuale was getting destroyed week after week. That bull**** just doesn't cut it for me personally. Even last year, part of the reason we got good was luck. O'Shea had no intention of benching Neufeld & Macho Harris for Loffler & Bond. Injuries forced his hand. -

The new Kuale, Romby, Shell etc. -
Fogg is healthy and not starting? He's much better than any of those new guys.

We're long past the days of using a DI spot on a guy like Alex Serna. -
Bombers @ Lions: Game Day Thread (07/21/17)
Blueandgold replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
One big part of our often stagnant offense is that we've got no production from our receivers outside of Adams and Dressler. You can't have three receivers out there doing, we're desperate for one more playmaker. As much as I love Denmark, the Bombers might've been on the right track getting rid of him early rather than a year too late. He's done absolutely nothing this year. -
I don't know. It looked like it was going to be an over throw. I thought Adams did a good job catching up to that ball at all.
