I'm surprised I missed this thread. I'm VERY torn Aren't most killers mentally Ill on some level? I agree that he is sick. And if you do something wrong because you're sick it's not your fault. But we lock up sick people every day. This case is different because it's high profile. On one hand you could argue that people like Li are released under similar conditions all the time but we never hear about it. On the other I wonder if Li would be up for release of it wasn't so high profile. Are these doctors using him to advance their position and opinions? That worries me. If he feels better one day and doesn't take his mess, that worries me. I would ask these doctors "would up honestly be fine with this guy living next door to your kids or sitting on a bus beside your child?" But then does a sick person, in an enlightened society, not have the right to get healthy? Off topic but consider this, if we as a society spent whatever was. Ended to educate and eliminate FASD in one generation we would reap unimaginable financial befits because jails would be half full. We put sick people away all the time.

I'm very glad this is happening. I was concerned when it was reported he had many discussions with teams about coaching but no talks with the Bombers. But it seems Walters rectified that quickly. I don't know what this position all entails but if it's just a created position to get Buck in on the offensive coaching team to learn and develop, so be it.

Can a team not grant a limited release whereby a player is permitted to try out and sign with an NFL team but no other league? Thus, maintaining their CFL rights? And thus, having a team-driven NFL outclause.

He released a player with a year left on his contract? Hmmmm, not sure I like that. It's basically circumvents the CFL's ending of the NFL out clause. When a player signs here, he isnt signing here when he has a real chance of making the NFL. His play here might generate NFL interest. In that respect, if a player commits to a two year deal in the CFL, he should honour it otherwise, dont make the deal, dont get an opportunity to showcase yourself and never end up in the NFL anyway.
