kevin Glenn would be a fine starter for a year or so. He's talented. Not the sexy choice by any means. But we cannot give our 2nd over-all pick for him. 3 rd round maybe.

Again, the Bombers offer was the one with the most money. What else could he have done? If someone doesn't want to come here you can't force them. Period. In the annoucement Ottawa said it was a 3 year deal. Maybe that. Heck, anything. This team needs a proven QB more than anything (and for a long time now). Just sick of the failures over and over again. And we don't really know if our offer was higher. If it was merely a third year, so what? Offer him 50 years if he wants. Then release him.

Thats the issue though. Why dont they want to come here? Because the team is not competitive? (but Ottawa will be?) Because it was a gong show the last couple of years (even though we have a new CEO, new GM, new HC?) Because players dont like/respect the new CEO, GM, HC?

I dont have emotional feelings about it and I *like* Walters but I think I agree. It's not June yet so that will be the real time to judge but he was tasked with making this team better, primarily in the form of a QB. He's failing. He's got a brand new facility, brand new management and coaching staff and clearly a lot of money and he still cant entice a Free Agent QB here. Its one thing to debate that a player would prefer Hamilton. But Ottawa? I really want to know what made burris sign there and not here. What is actually going on here. If we lose several key free agents, the story will be telling.

Im not a big believer in needing to make moves to shore up ticket sales as people generally renew at 99% but if we dont secure a QB which has really been the mandate since the last year of the Mack era, you cant blame the fanbase for getting restless.

Sure, Glenn likely becomes available but Ottawa is going to get sneaky and try to get our first round pick for him. Walters wont do that but ultimately, if we cant sign a player, we will have to trade for one under contract. If Glenn and Marcel dont get along, oh boy. We're scraping the barrel here. Max Hall is looking pretty good right now.

Lots of teams suck and turn it around by signing good players. We have a brand new facility. We have a new (player friendly) CEO, GM and HC. Im not sure i can believe we cant sign players because we "suck" or that it was a :"gong show" since the gong show gang has been replaced. And lord knows Ottawa isnt looking like world-beaters. So what is it? And is this something Walters has to wear? He has failed multiple times now in securing a starting QB. Im not a Chicken Little because whatever, it is what it is and we will turn it around eventually. But if Walters' isnt capable of signing top players or if players dont want to play for O'Shea, then we have mis-calculated terribly.

So who is the new Qb that the experts on here claim is "for sure for sure for sure is signing with the Bombers"? Just so I know. bit of a kick in the gut this one. Was looking forward to having a top flight Qb. Are we really at risk of going into the season with Hall as the starter?

People don't understand how be cap works. They think every other team spends $5 million. And the bombers spend $1 million. It doesn't work that way.

What I find hilarious about this, is that if we don't get Burris, Lawless will be bashing Walters down the line for not spending the money and going after him. Don't forget to mention that lawless is also fat and bald. You're statement is speculation with no basis in fact. Gary didn't bash Walters for not landing collaros. In fact he defended him.

Opinions change when new information is available. What's the new information ? For me personally, I cant say I was hugely excited about Collaros. But in the last day or two you hear that maybe O'Shea wasnt that high on him. And you hear Danny Mac prefers Willy. With that new information, it can change the minds of average fans who have heard Zach or Bust.

Apparently, Banks wanted the Lions to extend him or trade him. Doesnt mean BC was going to cut him, just that they werent going to extend him right now. The bombers need leadership. It's a good move as we transition to a winning team.

I love the money argument every time someone gets signed. Like the Bombers are spending half the money as everyone else or soemthing.

Yeah, a good OC and a great QB are sure depressing me too. But such is the norm around these parts.

Until we know what offers were made by each team, I think that the bolded is statement is just speculation. If the Bombers were outbid, then I'd really be pissed off. ofcourse it is. But so is every other "reason". There are lots of reasons players who are FREE AGENTS choose where they play. Money, opportunity, coaches, management, location, family etc

I love the experts (including some here) who went from guaranteeing ZC was our starter to Burris is our starter. Some people are never wrong even when they're wrong. But so what about this? Mike claims Zach didnt sign here because of our reputation. I find that dubious considering none of the people from the last few years are year anymore. Sounds stupid to me. The better answer is Hamilton valued him more than the Bombers. Burris is a great QB so hopefully we land him.
