  1. IGF is tremendous. I've sat in the end section of the upperdeck, no issue with sightlines there. I dont think concourses are an issue either other than I know a lot of people that spend a lot of time in the concourse rather than their seats because you can see the field. The Federal funding came in because of the tie in with the UofM. Was the land also donated by the University? ie. would the fair market cost of the land have pushed the fina; price tag way up had it been required? I for one hope the UofM and Bombers use some of the surrounding land to increase the experience. I know there is a transit loop going in at the Golf Course but that area should include some parkland and "gathering" space. No reason why a Bomber game or concert can't be an all day major event in the summer.
  2. Lets see how the season ends before we decide.
  3. Wow. Goltz sounds like a Whiney d bag.
  4. I dont care who they hire, how old he is, how much "experience" he has. I want them to feel they are hiring the best man for the job. If thats Walters, then great.
  5. Does he still own Booster Juice in Winnipeg?
  6. Goltz raised my eyebrows. He deserves another shot
  7. Talent is more important than experience.
  8. They just don't have the talent. And we didn't make half time adjustments on defence. That speaks to Creehan. I thought they came out fired up. I think Creehan needs to go and Burke take over the d.
  9. If Goltz plays poorly it should not be used against him. With this o line and this team you simply can't judge a poor QB performance accurately. Unless your QB is buck. Then a poor performance should result in his immediate death by firing squad. He's expected to throw, catch, run, block, tackle, kick, call plays and sing at half time.
  10. I miss Khari. Sure hope we see him back here in the off-season.
  11. Assuming he'd be in tough to make the NFL right now, wouldnt the best solution be for Hamilton to allow other CFL teams to talk to him and if he's willing to play out the rest of this year, trade him?
  12. Bring in Khari next hear to mentor our QB's.
  13. We should trade for Ray.
  14. They clearly are so down on Goltz they would rather wait for Hall to heal than just start him. Goltz wont be here next year.
  15. I agree with all of you. I even busted out some great stats such as: - 2001 CFL Most Outstanding Receiver - 2002, one of only 4 QB's in CFL History to throw for over 40 TDs in one season - From 2000-2002, threw more TD's (107) than any QB in the CFL or NFL over the same period. The response was, weak arm, couldnt throw, slow, too many INT, couldnt play when he left Winnipeg, elite receivers made him look good.
  16. So Im engaged in a debate on another forum (not THE other forum, a different one entirely) about the talent of Khari Jones. I'm willing to let the experts here (which clearer memories than me) settle it. Was Khari Jones a mediocre QB with great receivers, a good QB with artificially inflated stats for one season or a great QB in Bombers history?
  17. Didn't Doug brown demand Simpson be banned from team functions or something?
  18. The question being "is there any pride left in the locker room?" We shall see this week. This is their Grey Cup. I expect them to lose. But how they lose will show if there is any pride.
  19. So you think we had a great kicker and the Bombers decided to get older just for fun?
  20. Yup Mark Nelson would be fine by me. I have no idea his personality but during the Kelly sh!tshow, Nelson seemed pretty "under the radar" and professional. Burke cant be fired now. He's literally the only decent defensive mind we have. The firing of Lapolice had greater impacts than the obvious. It also robbed us of a great DC
  21. Private ownership is tough with the debt. But if the debt could be re-assigned to the Stadium itself, maybe it works. Sell the team for X amount of dollars, debt free and lease IFG for $1 with the caveat, the debt must be serviced at X amount per year. A CFL team can generate some money and be a good business. Just a matter of finding someone who really wants it and would do a great job. *cough* True North *cough*
  22. depending on the difference between the two wages I'd be fine with some sort of deal for him to return as DC assuming he's fired ofcourse. I remember people pointing out the risk in him being Head Coach...if it didnt work out, you lose the best DC in the league.
  23. Why, was there an issue with the Free Press marketing staff?
  24. Is it even remotely feasible that Burke remains on as DC next season?
