  1. I hope the media is digging into things. Not because I *want* there to be nasty secrets in JT's past but because you have to be suspicious now. Why did he leave his teaching gig suddenly in mid-semester? Could be totally legitimate...worth confirming though. Other incidents of racist acts, which JT himself said could be plentiful. A shady room mate. Any other complaints of groping? His teflon is pierced now...
  2. Nitro and RAW alone were tough. I recall when WCW added Thunder, it was like...how the heck is anyone going to watch that much. I think part of whats driving WWE to want completely separate RAW & SD is knowing some fans wont watch both. Part of the reason they created NXT was to be their "indy" alternative to ROH. Lots of rumours about Impact being interested in buying ROH...I had heard WWE was talking to them too.
  3. I think its going to be SD 2 hours on FOX and the third hour on FS1. Plus, a sportscentre style show on FOX (or FS1, cant remember) on, I think, Tuesdays. They want wrestling every night to choke out competition. If you're a fan, you're going to have 2 hours NXT on Wednesday and 2 hours AEW on wednesday also. Plus, 2 hours Impact on Friday (they should probably move to tuesday or thursday but right now want to run after SD thinking WWE fans will switch over).
  4. I can definitely see that being a popular costume at bars this halloween...
  5. NXT debut on USA did 1.17 million viewers. Definitely a success. It was a one hour episode (hour two on the WWE Network). In two weeks, the full two hours will air on USA and run head to head with AEW on TNT.
  6. Rudy G just had an insane meltdown live on CNN. Wow. He needs treatment.
  7. JT saying “I didn’t consider it a racist act at the time but now we know better”. Huh. Good thing the civil rights movement came along to save us from the 2000’s.
  8. Dude just remember back to before Harper won and all the rights he was going to strip away....
  9. Excellent points. I sometimes find myself hesitating when talking politics at work because my union workplace sees a Canadian Conservative and equates it to Trump. But the things our conservative leaders accept as inherently Canadian rights & values are some things The US Democrat’s are fighting for.
  10. Oh I don’t know about that. I think the Dems are doing a great job of communicating effectively with the public. I think there has been a large awakening among the public to turn towards the left. Partially as a response to the hard right of the Republicans. I think similarly in Canada there has been an effort by the right to encompass those that might otherwise have been ignored because they were too far right. I think JT opened the Center up really well for a smart, well spoken Center-Right conservative to reject the gross elements of the alt movement and push a populist agenda. I think a lot of Canadians saw JT as that because he’s handsome and young but he could be beat at his own game. But that’s not Scheer.
  11. They sure miss Stephen Harper. Again imagine if we had a leader that was genuine and intelligent and well spoken. But was also a center party? That didn’t court the worst of the far right or left? Wouldn’t that person be incredibly popular? Jagmeet wins points in this mess for being the only one who seems genuine. And I think the NdP will gain some votes but obviously not enough to matter. Scheer should have let Max take all the gross cons and went after disaffected liberals.
  12. For sure. But they both are.
  13. I’ve seen interesting responses. A lot of liberals seem to be either saying yeah but Scheer or downplaying the act as dumb but not racist. Conservatives are saying he’s a lousy role model and terrible leader and needs to go. And is a racist And I’m struck by how both sides are pretty entrenched. Reading his comments, he’s definitely throwing himself on his sword but still kinda seems disingenuous and pretentious. Scheer sucks too. I mean our choices are an arrogant air head who did racist things or a creepy far right guy with a history of homophobic positions. Is it too much to ask for a respectable Center leader?
  14. Yup. It was poorly promoted. AAA has Kenny booked for an upcoming show though Im not sure he'd have worked the PPV due to AEW. But 60 is bad.
  15. Was it Niku they said gained almost 15 lbs since last season? Should come in handy!
  16. Weekly news round up (thanks Dave Meltzer etc) - NXT debuted their new live show on USA Network last night. Havent seen it yet as we dont get in Canada but it will be on the WWE Network today and sounds like it was awesome - Impact moving to AXS in October, as expected since their parent company Anthem (owned by Leonard Asper) bought the channel (with Mark Cuban & Steve Harvey as minority partners) - New Japan's US tv show airs on AXS and people believed it might lead to a relationship with Impact (which would be great for Impact). New Japan is reportedly still loyal to ROH but the relationship doesnt seem to be doing well. The obvious thing would be New Japan working with AEW but there are some burned bridges there that would need to be mended. - Impact helped AAA (from Mexico). A lot of hoopla was made when AAA announced they were running MSG but it didnt exactly turn out that way. They needed to use Impact's license and ended up running the Hulu theater at MSG Complex. AAA does boast Cain Velsasquez who both WWE & AEW want. It was aired on national PPV but believed to do under 60 total buys. Ouch. AXS will be airing the event. - Live event tickets are slowing down this fall, even for AEW. - Big Cass had a meltdown at a WrestlePro show in New Jersey. It seemingly began when Cass threatened AEW's Joey Janela because Janela had got into a fight with Enzo a few weeks back. Oddly, the night before Janela and Cass worked a different show with no issue. But Cass was "off" in Jersey and acting like a bully all night. The promotion moved Janela to another room. Cass then accused guys of stealing his sweater and spit in the face of the promoter/wrestler Pat Buck, so Buck dropped him with one shot. Bad idea for Cass as not only was Janela there but AEW's SCU (Daniels and Kaz, Daniels being head of talent relations for AEW). And Buck is moving on to WWE. Enzo later posted a letter from Cass apologizing and saying he's getting help. - NWA signed Jim Cornette to do colour commentary at their TV tapings. - AEW revealed their tag team brackets. Interesting matches include Bucks vs Private Party and Lucha Bros vs A Boy & his Dinosaur. Id assume SCU comes out of the other side - SD on FOX got a lot of mention during NFL games. Its Brock vs Kofi on the debut show with the draft a week later. Intention is to have totally exclusive rosters on each brand, including unique announce teams with Cole on SD. - FOX had re-runs in the upcoming SD timeslot and drew just under a million viewers, so WWE would have to *really* do poorly to be a disaster. Though FOX wants better ratings then SD has been getting. - WWE has 129 wrestlers on the roster and 136 in training. Big roster. - Reminder, Chikara founder Mike Quackenbush is in Winnipeg this week, Saturday night at Doubles Bar.
  17. For sure. I dont know JT to say he IS a racist. But these things are clearly racist. I suspect its his arrogance. His weird personal-space-invasion thing he does with women is part of his arrogance too. Everyone wants to be touched by JT. He can do no wrong. yadda yadda. This *should* end his run. Realistically, he should resign immediately and get a new leader in place. But unlikely in the middle of a campaign.
  18. Regarding the hands on the woman in the photo, we dont know if JT and her were in a relationship. But its interesting given his repeated body language towards women, like, all the time (plus the allegation from a few years ago). I wouldn't get caught up in that aspect though. The brown face is bad enough.
  19. I can’t see why liberals would support him after this. It should run counter to everything they believe. I understand not voting for the Cons (as a long time con voter I don’t even want to vote for them). Honestly politics aside Jagmeet might be the only decent leader among them.
  20. I’d like to see copp get a real look at 2C
  21. Yup. He’s here for 9 years. Loves being here. #1 d man.
