  1. FOX isn’t even pretending anymore. Who gives a **** if he had pot in his apartment when a cop illegally barged in and shot him dead?
  2. I actually just bought my first ever wwe shirt. Undisputed Era.
  3. Did you buy them here? Every time I go to Hot Topic (which isnt often) I never see any Bullet Club Merch. I'd expect them to have Kenny Omega stuff in particular in his own home town. The story of Hot Topic is hilarious. Two WrestleMania's ago, Hot Topic was there and saw all the BC merch and asked WWE why they werent sending them what appeared to be their most popular items. WWE had to tell them it wasn't theirs. thats why Hot Topic wanted it...you can look at any WWE crowd and see a ton of BC merch. Its really crazy. All In was the first non-Network PPV I paid for in ages (since pre-New Japan World PPV's). It was great.
  4. Agreed. The shade of blue is deep, rich, sharp. I dig it. Might even buy one! The wordmark is cool and like you said I can see that, with the colour scheme ending up on every piece of merch there is.
  5. Its being mostly panned but I actually like it. Very simple. And I like the colour scheme and piping.
  6. Same reason as @JCon Word is, first court challenge will knock it out. I wouldnt be surprised if someone sets themselves up just to make the court challenge. Personal use growth should be no issue. You can make wine and beer and booze at home, no?
  7. Not sure of the veracity but it’s being re-tweeted and commented all over.
  8. If they didnt screw it up, it really lent itself to growing out a universe. I think they wanted to catch up to Marvel but I think the opposite should have been true. Just as MCU is almost too large and too bulky and turning over to new actors/characters, DC could have been starting from scratch, almost "the good old days", with Bruce Wayne in the Tony Stark role. They could have done Wonder Woman at the same time since she can begin in the past and eventually lead up to meeting the others. Batman could have started with introducing Robin. A Batman trilogy of **** Grayson in the first one, the falling out in the second with intro of Jason Todd, third one is Todd being killed by Joke and Batman going nuts with a larger role for Grayson as Nightwing before being spun off. Superman could have bee similar, leading to the Death of Superman story where Batman tries to fill in...thats when you begin to expand into larger global or interplanetary stories, when they "need" Superman but he's sort of dead. Have Wonder Woman catch up to the story as Superman is resurrected. And in the meantime, you're building a universe where you can spin off Nightwing, Batgirl, Joker...you can intro Green Lantern, Flash etc. It seems so simple really. Follow the comics as your guide.
  9. talk of Dallas in on Karlsson being the reason they havent re-signed Tyler. I thought he only wanted to go to Tampa...?
  10. I liked him initially because I generally like Affleck but when I recently re-watched BvS and Justice League...he just didnt have the depth or gravitas to pull it off. And I've seen Affleck bust out some good performances, he just didnt seem like he wanted to. Its too easy to play Batman as emotionless and not show range or depth. What difference was there from Batman to Bruce Wayne? Not much in these films. They should go back to Christian Bale...or more realistically, hire a 20-something rising star, lock him into 8 films and re-boot Batman. We all know the story, so it doesnt have to be an origin. Have Flash mess with the timeline, go back and interact with Wonder Woman and take the story from there. The most interesting aspect of Batman from BvS might have been the Robin costume. If the Affleck stand alone Batman was a bit of a prequel and showed us what happened to Jason Todd, I could get behind it, let it introduce **** Grayson as Nightwing etc. I dont know...DC has screwed it up royally by trying to catch up to Marvel.
  11. I tend to see the vote going for the "closed" side but no where do I see it over 80%. I suppose if there are dedicated websites, forums or social media that attract anti-development or pro-cars supporters, it would be. If you go to Skyscraper Forum, which attracts a lot of pro-development, architects etc, its over 90% to "open", as would be expected. But across my twitter, I see it "closed" but not overwhelmingly so. In fact, the fastest growing segment is probably the whole "I really dont give a **** anymore". What annoys me, and always has with elections, is the people that want a say without critical thinking. Too many people think it will impact traffic all the time, like 24/7 massive gridlock and thats just, common sense, not remotely a thing. Rush hour is not 24/7. @nate007 you hit the nail on the head. There are some "closed" folks that are invested and still feel that way, and kudos to them. But the vast majority really have no clue. And the reasons given simply dont hold water. I really really hate the "the money will be better spent on potholes, meth addicts, homeless etc" as if its an either/or scenario. And just wait until they open their eyes and accept the fact P&M will cost a ton of money regardless of whether the barricades remain or not. In some places, if it was a private business, it would have been shut down by now.
  12. Its interesting because there seems to be a desire to avoid any sense of liability if a security person gets into a physical altercation (liability over the security OR the perp getting hurt). Some of the ways to weed out these types of crimes dont seem to worm anymore because of the type of criminal. Video cameras, for example...these criminals dont care if you tape them. They have to go back to old school security. And Im not advocating violence, but if punks know it will always be a fight to get their bottle of booze, they'll soon look for something else to steal.
  13. I think we could draw 2000 if the appropriate marketing dollars were spent. The reality of wrestling is, the majority of marketing is 1) word of mouth & 2) through the crew. So, the record attendance is 1750 and 1000 tickets were pre-sold by the crew. That's why historically, when a promotion tries to spend big bucks doing big shows like that on a regular basis, attendance generally trends down, because your crew is exhausting their resources. When we did guys like Samoa Joe, Aj Styles, Chris Daniels, Steve Corino etc at our bar venue, we'd always draw really well (400-500) vs say 100-150 for our regular show. And what I found was, you have different categories of fans. The diehards that go to indy shows every week/month regardless of who's on the show because they like local indy wrestling. Occasional fans that like local wrestling but not enough to come every show, but will come when its a "big" show. Casual fans that want to see big names. etc. So the idea is you can get your diehards every show, the occasional fans every few shows and the big show fans for big shows. But for big shows, you get everyone. The criticism from promotions that didnt bring in big names was that doing so was pointless because the show after the name was in town, you'd drop back to your regular attendance. That, to me, showed the error in thinking by the competition. Firstly, I always made money on the big shows so if its quarterly, why wouldnt I do it and stuff my pockets? Secondly, the purpose was not only about generating increased attendance, it was about bringing in talent that could help your local wrestlers develop and make contacts, When Kenny was here last November, I literally could have sold 700 tickets without even trying. If I tried, I know I could have sold 1000. We had over 500 people show up at our venue when they knew it was sold out and it was adults only. And very little came from the crew because in fact, I had to take tickets back from the crew because of how much interest there was. Plus for a show like that, you utilize your contacts that you otherwise wouldnt. I know people in media. You make an ad buy, which we almost never do currently, and they will absolutely cover it like crazy. I've had Hustler cover our shows with Kenny without an ad buy. Plus, other media contacts. It really would be something special if we did it. And I have no ego about it, I'd be asking for help, involving "competitors" and doing everything I could to maximize the "specialness" of it.
  14. They should use Wonder Woman as a means to reboot the universe and do it right. Since she has been alive forever, and her next film takes place in the 80's they could essentially re-tell Superman, Batman etc. Although I do like Flash too.
  15. Yeah I wouldnt do Kenny/Bucks at a 500 seater. You'd need to make ticket $100 each...lol Convention Centre is big, for sure. The UofM is IGAC where I promoted a show previously and helped out with another. The stands are 1500 per side with about 400-500 comfortably on the floor. When we did our show, we only opened one side and got about 1750 people, which looked virtually full. It had a great press box area as well, where I set up a camera. And the price at the time was cheaper than the Convention Center. It would be my first choice for an event where you expect over 1000 people.
  16. Focusing on a supergirl script instead. Plus rumours Affleck is out as Batman. They need to step back and come up with a real plan.
  17. ADAM OATES!! Nice Its particularly important this year as we've had one season with Helle being a dominant starter. We now have an unproven "safety net" behind him. An injury would be disastrous. But as a cap team, Jets have to be efficient with their money. I did read that Brossoit was very well thought of around the league and could be a sleeper.
  18. Its certainly an option for a major show. Tony Condello ran there with a guy named Nelson Meyer years ago when Nelson had grants to create an Aboriginal wrestling promotion. I recently inquired about the rights to their footage and no one seems to know who has the masters or who owns the rights. It might be Tony. And Mike Davidson ran at least two shows there. The Convention Centre provides a lot of space (lots of backstage area) but I found it included a lot of "floor level" seating which doesnt make for the best sightlines. Its also expensive. Tony had investors willing to fund Omega vs Jericho II in Winnipeg and he told me he planned to do it at the Convention Center or Arena (which I cant see). People go with what they're comfortable with. Id the choice was Convention Center or IGAC (UofM), I'd go with IGAC (because I've run a show there before, Im comfortable with it). Both places require seating, lighting, staging. The Marlborough Hotel was a good venue too. Some similar issues though...all the seating is floor level so if its packed, you've got people sitting at the back with a poor sightline. Plenty of locker room area. Booze service. Marlborough is tough for set up as its up several floors. Funny story, one of my close guys was a young kid when WFX ran the Marlborough so he was on ring crew. The ring would not fit in the service elevator so they had to carry it piece by piece up the stairs. Well, being a very old building, the staircase got narrower as they climbed until finally the ring posts simply would not fit. My guy called the promoter (Mike) and asked him what to do with this ring post wedged between the floor and ceiling. He said "break a hole in the ceiling." Suffice to say, the hotel was not amused and there was a dispute over payment and damages. A few years later, my pal Marty Gold was organizing a benefit/memorial show for Kerry Brown and had to smooth things over with the hotel in order to run there. Franco Manitoban is a solid venue as well and hosted several wrestling shows. I believe they stopped when they jacked their rent for wrestling (I cant recall if there was a specific reason). I've run into issues with venues where my competitors caused issues and burned it for everyone. In 17 years, I've never burned a venue.
