  1. I wonder if this is a sign the Jets and Josh are closing in on a bridge deal rather than a long term deal. Jets have $10 million in cap space this season (they will want some wiggle room for bonuses). With Comrie and Josh being the ones left to sign. Myers comes off the books next summer and Kulikov the year after. Next summer they need new deals for Trouba, Laine & Connor as the key guys (Copp & Tanev are in that boat too but smaller contracts). Roslo isnt due until 2020 when Kulikov comes off the books (and one year later, Buff & Perreault comes off. I think its clear the Jets intent to spend to the cap while they have an open window to do so. $10 million left this year certainly allows them to sign Josh long term. $27 million next year allows them that signing, Laine & Connor. (and Trouba). But that assumes they dont sign Myers and if not, they need to replace him. If they dont sign Myers, they NEED to sign Trouba or trade him for an equitable return. specially with only two years left of Buff. Then you've got Kulikov expiring in 2020. Assuming Josh is tied up long term, you hope Niku can be a top 4 LHD. But the Jets arent in cap trouble. they need to be smart and manage their cap, but they arent in the position where they cant make key signings without trading a major piece. They look pretty good.
  2. There really is no excuse to ram it through considering the President is an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal crime.
  3. Yeah I saw people suggesting Wheeler would be moved but you cant get rid of everyone. Its one thing if his best days were behind him but there is nothing to indicate he wont be a top line RW for the next 2-3 years. He'd get more on the open market. And in 4 years, that $8 million wont seem like a lot. Its only $2.6 million raise so its not like they will be trading Laine to pay for it. Kulikov and Myers both off the books after this season.
  4. Senator McCain's last act as a patriot. And well thought out as anyone else doing it would be attacked in return but how do you attack the daughter of a hero who just died?
  5. Just looking at Cap Friendly, they arent too bad. Beginning next year they have $27 million in cap space, needing Morrissey, Trouba, Laine & Connor. Wheeler increased by $2.6 million so its not that big of a deal. They likely hope the cap goes up a bit (or a lockout brings everyone down). And Myers.
  6. Makes sense. Had it been a three year deal, I'd have been ecstatic but you give him the added two to make it happen. Of course we worry about decline but he's coming off his best season so I think one can reasonably expect a high level player for the first 2 years of the deal and then decline begins. But it gives the Jets options if they need to move on. They need to free up money though. Laine is going to get paid. Morrissey still to come.
  7. Christopher Walken and Christina Ricci are in Winnipeg filming a movie. My on-set spies tell me Christina is nice but sarcastic lol Ginnifer Goodwin was here not long ago too. She was very nice but found it cold even during our very warm spell. But she’s from Memphis so I guess she likes it really hot
  8. If Matt disliked the booing before, a stinker of a first half at the banjo bowl will be the stuff of legend from these fans. MOS will have a quick hook out for Matt I bet.
  9. I’ve defends Matt and certainly the crazy suggestions of getting rid of him have no merit. But it’s time to switch it up if only to let Matt watch. Something isn’t right since his injury. If we’re gonna lose let’s at least go down swinging with a talented second string QB that’s fun to watch
  10. MOS tied his can to Hall when he didn’t replace him in the off season. I’d be reluctant to fire him but he laid his head down beside Hall’s on the chopping block. That’s on him. He’s going to have to bite the bullet and fire him soon and hope Walters gives him the chance to win with a new DC
  11. Very historic show though. Like really really historic. To do what they did. Self financed by Cody and the bucks. I think Kenny/Penta was match of the night. Main event could have been but they got it from 28 minutes to 12 and actually nearly missed the finish before going off the PPV. Cody winning the NWA title obviously meant a lot to him. And those guys were all talking about this changing things. The road blocks are always contracts. But they could form their own promotion where they work with everyone. Not bigger than wwe but different and providing options. Definitelt a show that will always be remembered as very historic.
  12. I doubt it. It would take new japan and roh combining and having a major us tv deal and even then WWE is just too rich. But All In shows is that if guys choose not to go to WWE they can make a show that is on the level of wwe. Of course it’s one show. Vince will heavily be after Kenny, Bucks, Cody, page etc to make sure this doesn’t happen again. But I suspect they all stay together for one more year.
  13. Called it! Kenny/Penta is match of the night so far.
  14. He’s free to work outside of japan. By contrast trade the bucks have a ROH contest so they are restricted by what tv etc they can work. Saying that Kenny would be expected to be respectful of new japan. Ie not losing etc
  15. Great story on Kenny. Comments from Hogan (surprisingly insightful), Jericho, Van Dam, Ross, Kofi and more. Kenny talks about staying or going to WWE
  16. Libertarians? anyway the good news the economy is awesome. Thank you Donald! Ummm
  17. Those that abandon the party should vote democrat en mass. Probably against everything they believe. But it would end the trumping of the GOP pretty fast If both houses went to the Dems and the White House in 2020
  18. So now trump adds “statement from the White House” to his tweets to make them sound more important. Read this and tell me it wasn’t just randomly written by trump or an idiot.
