One interesting discussion point is the idea the Special Master would allow the government to have the tapes rather then mark them as privileged. As Trump's lawyer, they *could* be attorney/client privilege. Saw one commentator speculated it could be this specific conversation (reportedly there are many tapes) is not privileged because of criminality involved, or that the Trump side leaked it preemptively thinking it might get out there. if thats the case I'd assume Trump's side of the conversation is sufficiently non-detailed enough that they will say "see, nothing to see".

I think I posted earlier that the Arbitrator has to choose either the Team offer of the Player offer. I was wrong. The arb can make any decision he's deems appropriate which might be either of the offers or one he comes up with himself. So there you have it. I was wrong.

I wonder if the Jets would choose 1 or 2 years. The idea of 1 year would be to add leverage to a trade. But other teams will want to speak with the player first to ensure he'd sign. Its possible the agent's strategy is to not sign with anyone (unless the coincidence of a trade to the team he wants happened) and go to free agency. He could put the word out that Trouba will not sign with anyone, hamstringing the Jets' ability to trade him. In that case, Jets might choose 2 years to maximize what they get out of him. They might have to trade him at the deadline to get maximum benefit (a team acquiring at the deadline would be more focused on short term success).

I believe the story included quotes from the police who stated the victim had been assaulted by Flip Flop before being prevented from leaving. Victim declined to press charged and both men were allowed to leave. So as far as whether the victim did something that would make Flip Flop's racist and illegal actions justified, from available information, that doesnt seem to be the case. If there is value in keeping the employee then the workplace may have a moral duty to provide sensitivity training. Or at least it would be very kind of them. It as Wheeler has worn out his welcome they didn’t consider him valuable enough. But I do hope they considered bringing in Rainbow Resource to speak with the rest of the employees.
