  1. Our entire LHD from the season will be out for this game. We could be starting Buff, Trouba, two rookies, a journeyman who was considered a deadline deal afterthought and a healthy scratch most of the season. That's tough. Really tough. I expect the Wild to try to be very physical with the LHD. Jets will have to be exceptionally responsible.
  2. Dropped for the same reason trump always says he will sue people but doesn’t. Can’t handle discovery
  3. So the idea is ESPN wants in on UFC to air upwards of 15 live events on ESPN+, their streaming service. FOX would spend about $200 million for the regular TV package. The combined nearly $400 million deal is enormous but could actually hurt UFC because ESPN+ isnt expected to do well so viewership would be low and it could hurt UFC's Fight Pass. FOX has been interested in WWE as well so it will be interesting to see if they'd take both and use them as complimentary programming (WWE being UFC's lead in years ago is what turned UFC around). Interestingly, WWE hired UFC's parent company as its negotiators in inking a new TV deal.
  4. He had 61 straight sell outs of MSG which is incredible. I started watching when he was the colour man for WWE and he had a memorable angle with Randy Savage. After Savage had crushed Steamboats throat with the ring bell, he was being interviewed by Bruno and was bragging about it and Bruno lost it. "You're filth! You're slime!" and then grabbed Savage by the throat with both hands. He was goaded into coming out of retirement mainly to team with his son David Sammartino but David never made it. Bruno did do some matches with "modern" guys like Savage, HTM and others. Hogan had a photo tweeted with them teaming together. When we think of Hogan being on top in the 80's, Hogan had a 4 year reign. Bruno nearly double that and 11 years over two reigns. Really incredible. The ethnic working class hero was a big deal. Vince Sr went with Pedro after Bruno. And then Bob Backlund. When WWWF brought in Hogan the first time, the reason he was called Hogan was to appeal to Irish fans (named by Vince Sr). And ofcourse, Bruno Mars was actually named after him!
  5. “#1” Paul Jones also passed away today. 75 years old. Probably won’t be known to many. I believe he managed the Powers of Pain in Crocket (WCW) in the early 90’s
  6. Think trump could take some time from his tweets about Comey and Stormy Daniels to help Americans dealing with this?
  7. I suggested in another forum that their future plan (when TNS is open) might include closing Graham and Carlton to allow over flow to utilize Hydro Park or whatever its called. At this rate, if the Jets did make it to the final they might have to use the Forks. I had heard the Forks didnt really want to host but would be willing to if asked.
  8. Add Styles vs Nak at SaudiMania next Friday.
  9. Im a big fan of the series too. The Hawaiian flight was truly remarkable. I believe the one fatality was a flight attendant who was walking through the passenger area. Everyone else was buckled in and survived. Truly amazing.
  10. Well that is odd then. Think they'd at wait to see what happens with Morrissey unless they already strongly believe he wont be suspended and Myers or Toby is good to go.
  11. Niku returned to Moose so assumption is Myers or Toby is okay? Or is it to get Niku in a Moose game before Jets game on Friday? I assume they'd recall him should Morrissey get suspended
  12. At the link is video from inside the plane. Crazy story. https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2018/04/17/southwest-flight-passenger-todd-dnt-tsr.cnn/video/playlists/southwest-airline-deadly-emergency-landing/ Sounds like metal fatigue resulted in engine explosion. Debris strikes a window which shatters and a passenger sitting there is sucked out the hole up to her waist. Her seat mates grab on and struggle to hold her. Finally two guys are able to pull her back in but she died. The first post I made about it above had the audio of the Captain and ATC. Interesting side note is the Captain is a female pilot, formerly of the US Military. Very very calm. Always wear your seat belts folks.
  13. I missed the anthems. What’s the story with the Wild singer?
  14. Yup his first reign was almost 8 years. And then another 3+ in his second. He was Vince Sr's pick as World Champion when they broke away from the NWA. Buddy "Nature Boy" Rogers was NWA World Champion and lost to Lou Thesz but the WWWF (Vince) didnt recognize it and declared him their first World Champion after winning a fake tournament in Rio (they said the same about Pat Patterson winning the first IC title). Rogers was just a transitional champion to link the established world championship of the NWA to the new WWWF World title and lost to Bruno 22 days later in 48 seconds. Rogers always claimed he had suffered a heart attack a week earlier and was dragged from the hospital to do the match because it was so important. Bruno finally wanted a break after almost 8 years so dropped the belt to Ivan Koloff which the shocked audience reacted to with silence. As I recall, they didnt even announce the decision in arena for fear of a riot. Ivan transitioned the title to babyface Pedro Morales. The thing back then was to have an ethnic babyface champion who appealed to the working class of New York. He had it for almost 3 years and then transitioned it back to Bruno through Stan Stasiak When I was a kid in the 80's era and saw tapes of Bruno, I wondered how he was such a huge star compared to Hogan and the ore colourful guys I knew. But he was massive. Massive talent. A hero to the people of the North East. And a very interesting life. From Wiki: He also set a bench press record. I believe there is a movie about his life in development. He was VERY outspoken against Vince Jr and the WWE in the 90's, speaking out against steroids and the attitude era. The idea of Bruno returning to WWE was basically unheard of. It was Hunter who made it a personal goal to mend fences and bring him back into the fold. Which he did, of course. Anyone who has not seen Bruno's Hall of Fame speech should go out of their way to see it. Really good.
