  1. Can you imagine the sickening gushing from Sarah Sanders and Trump if that happened? And of course, it would later come out that Trump went to a private room for a private meeting with Putin with only Putin's translator allowed in.
  2. The actor who portrayed Mark (Becky's husband/David's brother) died in real life of a drug overdose so they wrote him as having died in the show. No word as to how. Darlene's husband is David portrayed by Johnny Galecki. It was very briefly mentioned by Darlene that she wanted to prove she could raise her kids "alone" implying they are separated (and seemingly David isnt helping support them). Portrayed this way because of Galecki's schedule. It was believed he would not be available at all but rumor has it Sara Gilbert asked him to reprise the role and he made time for her. One episode I believe. It hasnt been said but the story is DJ's wife is a girl from the original series that DJ refused to kiss in a school play because she was black (Roseanne was irate saying we might be white trash but we're not racist white trash). If true, DJ married his grade 3 sweetheart. No word if the daughter is their natural daughter or adopted.
  3. Thats a good point and shows its not a show being dictated by Roseanne's personal feelings because the gag with the gun showed them to be irresponsible gun owners lol They briefly mentioned that Darlene was a single mom but we know David is going to appear so there will be some story about that. It would be nice if they end up back together but I assume the only reason they are apart is due to Johnny Galecki's schedule (and his cost though he and Gilbert are very close friends). They might explore Harris and whether she'd repeat the cycle of Conner women getting married/pregnant young and putting their dreams on hold for their family. I thought that was a powerful storyline in the original with Dan & Roseanne being more angry with Darlene getting pregnant than they were with Becky eloping because Darlene was the one that "wasnt supposed to end up like us". Surely they will explore racism with DJ having a black wife and daughter. Could definitely explore issues with the Military with DJ being a veteran and his wife being over-seas (might she be KIA)? Nancy is supposed to return as well, same with Roseanne's mother. Crystal too (who was married to Dan's father). So far, its the perfect revival because so much time has passed but given the realism from before, they have the opportunity to really capture fans attention again, as long as they stay true to their realism and premise and avoid being a parody of themselves (like the final season was).
  4. I think Mark likely died before Darlene's son was born (but after the original series because he was around when Harris was born), hence why she named him Mark (Darlene's husband David was Mark's brother).
  5. The talk of FOX being interested in wrestling, getting WWE is the obvious one but if they want wrestling that isnt WWE, they should buy or buy into New Japan. Its the only promotion in the world that is remotely competitive to WWE (and they arent really competitive at all), they are the cool promotion right now and they have the most talented/popular (comparison-wise) wrestlers in the world. Its always been a thing that Japanese workers might be inclined to decline WWE offers but you've actually got North American workers declining WWE to stay with New Japan. Ofcourse, there's a big difference between being successful beside WWE and being successful going against them. It wasnt long ago that TNA had 1.5 million viewers and a national TV deal. You give New Japan that today and they make waves for sure. EDIT: As I recall, ROH gets around 500,000 viewers. Its harder to figure as they are syndicated. But its almost certainly true they draw more eyeballs than TNA does. And their business is better too since TNA has a barter deal with POP and generates very little revenue and doesnt run house shows. Whereas ROH is owned by their media conglomerate (the filthy rich and ultra conservative Sinclair Broadcasting) so they are "free" content and run profitable house shows (setting their attendance record recently with Omega on top and I believe they are set to do so again for Cody vs Kenny). Sinclair is worth more than WWE so if they wanted to compete they could. But giant billion dollar conglomerates dont get that way by wasting money and Sinclair would have to invest tens of millions to even come close to competing with WWE's reach or wrestling-generated revenue. Ted Turner famously wanted to get back into wrestling after his non-compete from WWE's purchase of WCW expired. He commissioned a study and the end result was $30-$50 million in losses just to become a major player. He never bothered. New Japan's success in the US is really great but very early and a small sample size. To compete, you need very deep pockets because you're going to lose a ton of money to even get to the point of competing and you need a national TV deal that pays the cost of producing that TV and you need really great creative that draws fans and you need talent that draws fans. WWE was going bankrupt in 96/97 until the great creative (Canada vs USA, Austin/Michaels vs Hart) turned it around and then Austin exploded to really put them over the top and generate record revenue. ROH and New Japan both have solid booking (simple but organic). And if they had a national TV deal, with Omega on top, they'd have the hook. If I was New Japan I'd look at trying to get a national TV deal in the US. But its hard because they are based in Japan and for a lot of fans that would be a tough translation.
  6. I didnt see it. I just saw some tweets where she talked about Trump saving children from bondage and stuff. Its weird because she ran for leader of the Green party and she holds pretty progressive views on many things so her love of Trump is a bit odd and I wonder if its more to do with the celebrity aspect. Keep in mind, Trump was considered a democrat before. Two of Roseanne's siblings are gay which explains her liberal view there (which is great), not to mention Sara Gilbert. She's had some serious mental health struggles in her life though so Im more of a "meh" on her Trump support. I think its a media thing blowing up the revival as some sort of commentary on Trump. I didnt get that at all. The X-Files had references to the Trump government and its seeming war on the FBI too. No media frenzy.
  7. Interesting remark by Friedman on HNIC about NHLPA head Donal Fehr and how there are some who want an independent review of his leadership. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/nhl-agents-discuss-leadership-nhlpa-executive-director-donald-fehr/ Why on earth would the PA want to change leaders now, especially from someone has experienced as Fehr? If they think they can negotiate an end to the Salary Cap, they are dreaming. they should be thrilled if they can just maintain the current deal without anything demonstrably worse moving forward. This is the same union that lost an entire year and negotiated a hard cap and a wage reduction. I think the big issue is escrow but I can't see how the PA avoids that.
  8. I post this because it’s the difference between conservatives and the crazy alt right Trumpologists The attacks on the parkland survivors has been especially disgusting. And the sex ring is an old conspiracy they which is even stranger when you consider trumps actual issues with sexual harassment and his relationship with actual sex ring operators.
  9. This guy is great. Trump needs him for his Russia defence lol On the other hand, this guy...not so much
  10. Latest speculation for Braun's partner is I spoiler tagged it in case people want to be surprised
  11. Hadnt heard that. Just did some googling and it looks like its in development hell. But Bochco and one of the original writers were behind it so I would have faith in it being good. Apparently FOX owns the rights to the show for some reason even though it aired on NBC. And they wrote a pilot last year which was being re-tooled to appeal to streaming, which sort of tells me FOX wasnt interested (perhaps due to the Disney deal). The idea would be to do a revival, not a reboot, with legacy cast members appearing as the older veteran lawyers.
  12. If we know they are Russian bots why does Twitter not just ban them?
  13. Friggen Nashville. @FrostyWinnipeg thanks for compiling this every game.
  14. Are these over priced fancy frozen yogurts?
  15. LA Law was so good. Why is it not available on Blu ray or Netflix? Terrible.
  16. I don’t think the grandson mark was questioning his gender. He said he was a boy but felt comfortable wearing girls clothes. But roseanne the actor is a nut. But I felt the show has always been pretty liberal and that doesn’t seem to have changed. Roseanne also clearly doesn’t do any research into the crazy things she puts forth in support of trump so I’d suspect she supports him because of her tendency to do the difficult rebellious thing. Interestingly the behind the scenes show (was it 20/20?) about the revival, Roseanne said when Sara Gilbert approached her she (Roseanne) was hesitant saying she was too old to fight with the network and too old to have conflict in her life. And Sara said she’s deal with the network and take care of everything. And it was basically days later that the revival was announced. I didn’t realize Sara Gilbert had that much stroke. But good for her. I think some of the left peeps should take a breath before attacking the show because of the politics of the star. The show has always been progressive in dealing with important issues. The way Roseanne and Dan handled mark was a great resolution. And they aren’t afraid to laugh at issues either. They kept joking that Darlene was gay even as she protested (the actress is gay). Funny stuff.
  17. They did a pseudo Seinfeld reunion on Curb. It was good. That 70’s show might work. Make it that 80’s show with the same cast now ten years older. im Not sure Married wirh children could work. It was low brow humour and silliness. It doesn’t really hold up.
  18. Amazon is probably keeping it afloat.
  19. Then there is this guy. Who is now admitting he’s still support trump if he raped someone. And why would he even say that? Surely the right answer is a resounding no? But...he thinks trump might have raped someone and he doesn’t want to be held accountable for his words later. That’s the only reason he’d give this answer.
  20. This is particularly loathsome. Trump using his position to wage a personal war against someone he dislikes. Worse yet he’s trying to harm the separate business the guy owns because he also owns the Washington post. The message is clear. Media should kowtow to trump or he will set out to destroy you. Hard to believe Eve trump supporters would see this as appropriate.
  21. Jim was lobbying for Hogan.
  22. I think they missed someone
