  1. Yeah Im not sure the Premier means that although his argument is sound but not really in his favour. The MMF is saying pay us now and we'll make sure our grandkids dont screw with you. Premier is saying how can you give away future rights of people not even born yet. On the other hand, I've often said, this constant fighting with Aboriginal groups is ridiculous and should be settled immediately and forever. If they are owed, pay them and be done. Then again, one of the biggest thing holding Aboriginals back is the reserve system and the corruption of their own leadership and you cant fix that. If $70 million is a small price to pay so be it. But only if there is a sound legal reason. if its extortion, then obviously dont pay it. The province is the boss though. if they want to handle it a certain way, thats their call and they wear it if it goes bad.
  2. Absolutely should have. Thats a terrible call.
  3. Im not sure I understand the question. It sound to me like the $70 million was paid to prevent the MMF from delaying construction with lawsuits. If this was Reserve land they wanted to build on then yes, they are obligated to negotiate to use the land. If its a generic "all the land was ours before you came here and plundered it", Im not on board with that. Im not up to speed on the details of the MMF's standing in the courts where these matters are concerned. But if the threat is "pay us or we'll sue you", its worth investigating whether they have a case or not because paying impacts future deals. Also, the Premier's position that the MMF cannot (or should not) accept payment to give up future claims on future projects is valid on its face. Wab's immature response to that amounted to "come on, pay us now cause I dont care about deals 50 years from now when I wont benefit". A million a year seems like a small amount but what are we actually getting for that money? Thats my point. We need to know more.
  4. Bad time for toys r us But things might be looking up
  5. Bowman has been a disgrace. But what’s the alternative.
  6. What land? As far as I know this isn’t reserve land. This is the MMF. Didn’t they once claim Winnipeg was their land? I’m sensitive to these issues but they have to be realistic.
  7. With this Karen McDougal interview airing tonight, his aids are probably desperately trying to hide his cell phone.
  8. WWE talking with Hulk Hogan about a return. Much fan speculation that he’s be a great choice as Braun’s mystery partner.
  9. why does he need money when Mexico is paying for the wall? Also if he’s the greatest deal maker of all time why is he wasting tax payers money on Dem giveaways to get their concession when he controls all level of government? Must be a lousy deal maker.
  10. Perhaps his plan is Armageddon
  11. This was barely a week ago. His denials on McMaster were around the same time too. The media reports these things, are called liars and fake news and then proven correct.
  12. Wasn’t he just saying he wasn’t firing mcmaster? Lol
  13. makes sense to me. The thought process is fire him now and deal with the consequences when you control Congress or risk losing the House in the fall and having less control. Or having even less control of Mueller returned indictments against Kushner and/or recommended impeachment against Trump himself.
  14. I think they (Vince and Ebersol) think they can combat the reasons for the NFL's decline. And ofcourse, their financial picture will be a lot different so their measure of success will be a lot lower. I dont know how long Peter Thiel will be willing to lose money (Id like to know what CBS is paying them). Vince has already said he's willing to go beyond his initial $100 million and doesnt want partners. Vince has a lot of cash and is in his 70's so he might be willing to spend (and lose) a lot.
  15. He's gonna have to score at a quick clip to hit 50!
  16. I wonder if this is falling on his sword for "accidentally" implying he spoke for the President in demanding Mueller be fired or if its because even he has had enough now that the new lawyer has been brought on (and has even more questionable issues)
  17. Very true. We need to know more.
  18. But what are we paying off the MMF for? If I recall, the court recognizes their right to be consulted but that doesnt automatically mean a payoff. This isnt Reserve land they are building on. If its related to "all the land is ours", I would tentatively agree with the Province that its worth reviewing.
  19. Sounds like the board wont explain why they resigned. Im curious about this payment. It isnt a land issue. So you're paying off a group to not delay construction though lawsuits or demonstrations? Thats fishy...
  20. That eliminates the mega-money fight with Brock.
  21. The President of the United States
  22. Well well well
