  1. Vince does. And so do any players and fans that might get work or watch the product. My point about the exact figure isnt really relevant other than the fact NBC bought in for around $50 million and got the broadcast rights as part of the partnership is meant to equate a value on those rights. Vince seems determined to have no partners or investors this time. So my point is, will he get value from TV and digital rights packages greater than what he'd get from partners. And the whole reason is, that's the key to this. If the rights package can cover expenses, he's laughing.
  2. My initial reaction was "really? This is important?" However, the original lyrics were: "thou dost in us command" It was changed in 1908. I saw it noted somewhere the change was to appeal to young men going to war. This change simply reverts it back to the original (with modern language) and removes a change that was made specifically for gender reasons. Im perfectly fine with it now.
  3. I had always heard the losses as $50 million to WWE and $50 million to NBC but I think WWE absorbed all the start up costs. The $137 million figure comes from Meltzer so I'd trust it as pretty accurate. Vince has said he's willing to spend more than the initial $100 million. The difference is that NBC got the TV rights for free as a partner (buying into half the company and a small amount of WWE stock). Vince will get paid real dollars for TV and digital rights. Will it be more than $50 million? Unlikely but who knows.
  4. Which majority? The show has been well received generally.
  5. They've been investigating since, I believe 2011 when they re-opened it. Wagner's story has changed several times over the years and Wood was deathly afraid of water making the claim she tried to swim or dingy back to shore unlikely, The body had bruises consistent with an assault. Wagner admits arguing with Christopher Walken and I think the implication is that Walken was Wood's friend...and perhaps lover.
  6. You will likely love Vegas. Its just an amazing experience the first time. Everywhere you look is something cool. The hotels on the strip are all awesome in their own right. The new ferris wheel thing is great too (get the open bar car). I personally love New York New York (I enjoy the vibe there) and downtown. Difference experience downtown with the older casinos and Freemont St Experience. Enjoy!
  7. Its not official but Lashley has all but signed with WWE and is slated for a post WM program with Brock which is interesting because Brock's deal expires right after WM (he has a merchandising or promotional deal that extends to August which prevents him from doing UFC without Vince's permission). So it could be a short program to write Brock off for awhile if he wants to do a couple of fights.
  8. Same. Im not a big gamble so I would play some slots mostly to unwind at night or if we were walking through a large casino to get somewhere else and felt like sitting down for a drink, we'd play some slots. But when I go its not for casinos. Tons to do in Vegas and surrounding area.
  9. Early WrestleMania Card looks like: Brock vs Roman - Universal Championship AJ vs Nak - World Championship Ronda & Partner (They want Rocky) vs Steph & Hunter Blizz vs Jax - RAW Women's Championship Charlotte vs Asuka - SD Women's Championsihip Miz vs Braun - IC title Cena vs Undertaker Finals of the Cruiserweight tournament. And a few others (Seth vs Jordan maybe but Jordan has a neck injury that might be serious). I'd suspect Owens/Zayn vs Usos as it would be really good.
  10. This years Rumble was booked by Michael Hayes, Jamie Noble and Vince. Which is noteworthy because it was well put together. Pat Patterson was the originator of the Rumble and for years, put it together even after he retired, he'd come back to help with the Rumble. Maybe Jamie Noble is a secret genius. For the record, Dave Meltzer gave Almas/Gargano 5 Stars.
  11. So the XFL losses were $137,988,000. When NBC pulled out, Vince was willing to keep going with UPN as the main partner (they were going to be the main broadcaster until NBC had come on board) but UPN would only do it if Vince accepted a reduced Smackdown and he wasnt going to cannibalize his wrestling for football. Vince doesnt want partners or outside investors this time. He wants to maintain control himself and will sink in more money if need be but, acknowledging he's a businessman, wont sink an unlimited amount. The initial PBP guy was Mark Vasgersian who was replaced by Jim Ross who did a much better job but was considered a "wrestling guy". On the Anthem front, its interesting that Vince has never been a big fan of airing the anthem in wrestling. He uses America The Beautiful instead of the anthem and even then, rarely uses it anymore. So Im curious if he chooses to either not play the Anthem or uses America the beautiful instead. Most players made $50,000 - $60,000 the first go around.
  12. WFX at IGAC? Yes, thats a great venue. WFX ran there because the promoter was my former partner and we had run it in 2002. It was cheaper than the Convention Centre. We were supposed to run it again that summer but got hoodwinked into going to SHAW Park instead.
  13. Have you ever been to Vegas? Lots to do without ever visiting a Casino. Although I do enjoy the casinos!
  14. You're way off track. You're seemingly offended because you assigned a political label to ******** on twitter. I havent gone through all the posts, nor would I want to, but how do you that everyone are Liberals? No one is defending them at all. Had you posted about the ignorant vile losers celebrating the accident, every one here would agree with you. You made it political and assigned a negative to all liberals. And are defensive because people 1) agree that they are ******** but 2) point out those comments would still happen if it was Democrat train. Why are you defensive about that? Im not a liberal. Im not deflecting. Why would you attack a "camp"? Makes little sense. And even worse to then point to Trump's defense of Nazi's as an example of same. We can all agree there are ******** who would cheer a tragedy involving either Political party. But the majority of us would not agree with a sweeping statement that there are "good" Nazi's.
  15. Ugh dont go down that road man. That's just wrong. His statement was not a generalization about all people in the world. It was specific to that situation in which you had Nazi's on one side and people protesting the Nazi's on the other. Good people on both sides? Yuck.
  16. Please dont pretend Trump's defense of white supremacists and neo nazi's was some sort of positive messaging.
