  1. One day maybe we'll find out some shocking details we never knew. Because Im really curious, if he ordered a military strike that was absolutely out of place, would his Generals do it, talk him out of it or refuse? And if they refuse, and he orders them detained, do their underlings comply. If not, you essentially have a military coup. Does Pence have a plan to invoke the 25th if it comes to it? Or is everyone flying by the seat of their pants? And lets assume Trump isnt dumb enough to do any of that, what happens if NK launched a missile towards the US or some other war breaks out. Can Trump be trusted to be the Commander in Chief? It would not surprise me at all if we one day find out Pence had "off the record" talks with enough cabinet that they could act if need be.
  2. I really enjoyed American Crime Story season one. True Crime is hot right now with no lack of source material. I watched a documentary about Elizabeth Smart which would make a good True Crime series as well. Plus, of course Jonbenet (if thats not played out as awful as it is to say), Manson murders. They could tackle the Bernardo murders. Lots of options.
  3. I agree. The Jets generally get good value but we see players speak glowingly of Winnipeg and "easy deals" when they sign. But the Jets also havent shied away from big contracts when necessary. There is a reason this isnt done. Its almost absurd though, on Trouba's part. If he could pick a team to play for long term where he could win where is he going? Pens? Not with that cap. Tampa? Maybe. So he has very few teams to pick from. Winnipeg is 6th in the league right now and young and on the upswing. He's arguably the top 1-2 D and the guy in front is much older. If he wants playing time, chance to excel personally, chance to win and to be a star, Winnipeg is one of the very few places he can do all that. Wanting out, he's still Restricted with zero control so he doesnt choose the destination. Its quite odd to say the least. I figured after last time, he felt the Jets out and blinked and would sign long term. The Jets arguably took his issues to heart and have given him just about everything he wants. There is no reason not to sign here unless, no matter what, he just doesnt want to play here.
  4. This is sad. Kym Camarta passed away in September. He was the PA announcer of the Jets from 89-96. And for many of us he was THE voice of the Jets. Boooooming voice. https://passages.winnipegfreepress.com/passage-details/id-249118/Camarta_ Kym
  5. Not on a long term deal. It’s about “is there someone willing to pay that much” and there probably is. So we can do the bridge contract dance until he walks away for nothing, pay him a lot to sign a long term deal or trade him. If he could be had for $5 million he’d be signed a year ago. Five mill is crazy talk. Not happening. To be fair Hampus Lindholm signed long term for $5.2. So start there. Add extra to stay in Wpg. I’d say $6 but I don’t think he wants to stay.
  6. Was it mid line change or was there a copp-Lowry-Laine line?
  7. Well don’t look now but Jets are pretty good. 2nd in division. 3rd in conference. 6th in league.
  8. Arent some of these types of deals done during Grey Cup week because everyone is together, even if its just preliminary talks? I expect the Bombers already know exactly what they're intend to do and exactly who they intend to approach to be Hall's replacement. I'd hate to can a guy right before Christmas but if you're paying him out anyway, do it. The real answer is, a year ago.
  9. If I recall, Galecki is very close friends with Sara Gilbert still (I think she's a producer on the new Roseanne). I bet they get him for a cameo where he sneaks on set for it or something.
  10. Was Nelson the DC here during "swaggarville"? he was a very aggressive DC and guys were getting INT's left and right...or am I imaging that?
  11. Im sure its been said (havent read the whole thread) but the turning point was retaining Hall after last season).
  12. There is going to be some thought given to sliding him into that 2C spot to see what happens. But not while the team is winning. Connor-Roslo-Ehlers(laine) could be the second line at some point this season.
  13. That would certainly pique my interest and potentially set up our D for the next decade plus. We could probably squeeze out a draft pick as well and maybe add a throw away. Although, Petan could be of interest to Tampa as well. Nothing replaces Trouba one for one right now. But I think our D is solid enough to weather it with Poolman. And nothing precludes the Jets from trading for a veteran D on a short contract to help out. It also helps in other areas because you're paying Trouba $7 million + on a deal next year. Trading him for ELC guys saves a TON of money in the short-mid term.
