  1. Can you steal from yourself? Steal implies a negative. Clearly a homage. Fun episode too!
  2. Sadly, you might be right. The other thing is, if I hit on an underling, flirted, made unwelcome come ons, she could easily complain. I'd be pulled into a meeting with HR and if I was very lucky, I'd save my job and be "educated". I'd then learn something and hopefully not repeat the behavior (if I valued my job). But for these actors and power brokers, they were the boss's or high enough that they werent being scolded. They suffered no consequences or corrective intervention. And that's how we ended up with a *culture*.
  3. I agree that each situation should be judged on its face. But most of us know the appropriate time and place for flirting and sexual jokes. Usually that’s not towards underlines at work which she would have been to him. It’s the power dynamic. Spacey now going for treatment
  4. To be fair I was on the Maurice bandwagon until this season. He can win me over though. No more excuses for this team. If they don’t succeed then he has to go. I don’t need a cup to say it’s success but then need to make the playoffs and be competitive.
  5. Is that directed at me? Whether Maurice should go or not is independent of the second line struggling, which it is.
  6. So much for Spacey being an isolated incident: http://deadline.com/2017/10/kevin-spacey-fallout-london-theatre-director-former-news-anchor-respond-1202197513/ In addition, former WCVB-TV news anchor Heather Unruh, had accused the Oscar winner of attacking someone close to her. In a tweet more than two weeks before Rapp received his apology, she tweeted a picture October 13 with the message: ‘The #weinsteinscandal has emboldened me … I was a Kevin Spacey fan until he assaulted a loved one. Time the dominoes fell’.
  7. I think it will do well. That was a really big case at the time (maybe not OJ levels, but big nonetheless). American Crime Story is already doing a 3rd season so I dont think they're worried. True Crime is pretty popular. And there are many cases they can make into a season.
  8. Maybe we need a Hollywood sleaze thread
  9. We should send Flaherty there to learn some things.
  10. I think Laine is just young and struggling with some of the finer points. I havent dissected his play but felt in some instances he doesnt hustle enough, fight enough or make the right decisions. Things that will come. Perhaps swapping wings would help (he might feel more comfortable on the other side and be lined up for that shot more often). I'd focus on feeding him more (or trying to) and asking him to shoot more. if he gets that shot off, he will score.
  11. I worked at a bar for years so Halloween was always fun. I think the only costume that bugged me was Steve Irwin with a stingray sticking out of him. I thought it was in poor taste with no comedic value. But yeah..I agree. Its Halloween. Dressing up in a stupid manner is part of the deal.
  12. 1290 covered it briefly yesterday and said people were upset by it. I havent seen direct evidence of it but assume the 1290 guys had seen some chatter. Maybe local to Edmonton.
  13. Do none of these guys have women in their lives (mothers, sisters, daughters?). Ewwww
  14. Im not sure why some assume his dressing up as Trump is some sort of show of support. And even if it is, his politics are his business (although to be fair, if he publicly gets political, then its fair game). I think it was just a costume. lol
  15. Thats good. Im not sure I'd use watching hockey as the definitive test. Logic tells me a guy that classy eyed and dazed is not well enough to play football a week later. But by the time it really effects him, he'll be long gone from the Bombers so i guess it doesnt really matter...yet.
  16. This is breaking news so I’m assuming it’s something newew than the news yesterday that the next season would be it’s last. Perhaps next season is on jeopardy now...
  17. Anyway... anyone watch The Deuce? The finale was this past Sunday. Great series. takes some patience though. By the guys that made The Wire. Gritty. It can be tough to watch (and I find it oddly mixed with the back ground noise really loud) but it became cant-miss for me. It was renewed for a second season by HBO.
  18. Well, he was 43 at the time so maybe 15/16 year olds shouldn't have been his focus. I once met a girl at a party and was told she was 18 (she and a mutual friend both told me that). We began dating and she admitted she was 16. I was creeped out a bit and I was only 25!
  19. Lack of ability to compromise...on slavery.
